You'd have better luck with bacon cheeseburgers. ;)

Don't listen to him, the man grills burgers like a demigod, he can supply himself with ALL the bacon cheeseburgers he could ever need.

Quick, someone photoshop the rook from demigod next to a grill.

Crap you are on to me! Make it cheese steaks then, I have never made my own so it's unexplored territory.

Should be interesting :p

If Min-Pen-Con is any indicator other then the DGR crew, Cheeto and Penguin most people don't get super tipsy, just lubricated. And my wife and I were not the only none drunkards there so you should be safe. :drink:

I think Pen Con I had a bit more drunkenness.

It keeps coming back to a couple of very drunk people playing Weinhandler. That was a sh*t show. A wonderful, wonderful sh*t show.

EDIT: Boogle. I will drink mead with you. It is the nectar of the gods. When I was at PAX East, I got a flight of different meads. My favorite: Vikings Blood.

I will echo this. If there is a chance to have mead, as the proprietor here, I feel it is my duty to encourage it being there.

I love mead. I think it is a delicious and manly accompaniment to any a gathering.

I'll have to refine Castro's Cure then. The first batch took the really bitter, pithy note from the lime skin and ran with it. Just doing pulp and zest for batch 2.

Opinions are noted about beer choice. If I do a pale ale, I'll probably trend toward the APA style.
Stouts are sort of out of scope since they require more time to ferment and condition than a typical ale.
I'm going to stay away from anything too big I think. 7% is pretty hefty, and it can really catch folks unaware.
I'll tentatively schedule an APA and a porter.

I've been wanting to try mead. I will compensate anyone who brings some good stuff.

Yeah, good points. Helluva good beer if you have the tolerance for it.

Also, can't wait to sample your brew. Man, I haven't been this excited for October since I was a kid looking forward to Halloween.

I think this needs to be the official tag line of Penguincon.

The motion passes.

That's how these things work, amirite?

No, PenguinCon does not observe parliamentary procedure. It is run by a cabal that OilyPenguin publicly calls "staff" who make all of the decisions, heedless of the community's desires.

And that "staff" is largely for show as I rule with an iron fist*

*the iron fist mostly just relents to stuff though because he gets bored easily and some of the staff really likes to argue. The iron fist does not like to argue by email and dreads hassle.

i.e.

Eric, Toph, and I can be very demanding.

I'm not really interested in all this talk of OP's staff and his iron fist.

My staff got yoiked into someone's sig line.

Yes, that choice of words was on purpose.

I wish to attend this event. What do I do?

I'll churn your butter!

1) Can I still qualify for the $60 registration?

2) If I bring my wife is that one payment of $60 for her and a payment of $60 for myself?

3) Under what items I am bringing I put computer, parts, etc, but also luggage and board games. What else do you need to know?

We'll be having the $60 registration for quite some time. I think we'll only drop it once we get to the deadline we need to have the shirts ordered by.

The $60 covers a swag bag and a t-shirt. If your wife wants the t-shirt, then $60, if not, then $35. That's if she's planning on participating. If all she's going to do is hang out in the room or take in many of Ohio's beautiful tourist destinations while you get drunk and game, then no admission required. You guys will need to do separate signups so feel free to choose different packages. We'll address the T-shirt issue in more detail in the coming weeks. I can promise that the shirts will be as epic as you guys want.

Just give me a general list if stuff you're bringing. I basically just need to know who is bringing their PC for space concerns. Once we get closer to the date, we'll start lining up TVs and game systems.

My wife will want to game, drink, get T-shirts etc as well as wander around so I think I will spring $60 for her I guess

There will be console games yes? I am sure she would enjoy that and board games more than PC games.

Affirmative.

Since the last pencon had console games and even minpencon did, I haven't been touting them but yes.

There will be consoles.

It will be awesome.

So maybe I should hold off on deciding whether I want to get an XBOX 360 oder a PS3 for my Netflix until after PenCon. Wouldn't wanna get one and then find out all the good party/couch coop games are on the other.

The plan will be that we'll have a mix of both.

But also we'll have a list of what games we'll have for sure there. Ideally, we'll have all the consoles and TVs we need lined up at least a month before the event. I'll start soliciting people for specifics come August.

So don't let us hold you back from your gaming purchase =)

I am undecided anyway. I was kinda set on the PS3, since it also plays Blurays and I wouldn't need a XBOX Live subscription to use Netflix, but then the whole network breach thing happened and that kinda put me off enough to make it a 50:50 situation between the two again. The games I am interested in exist on both consoles (AssCreed, Castle Crashers, Super Meat Boy etc.), so it'll come down to which console offers the right encore.
