Have not tried the multiplayer on this but my son loves Trap Team... $$$$$

This was my primary concern. And my kids have seen the 'mini-Skylanders'. How much am I looking at sinking into this particular venture. I wouldn't be considering it, but they have just got out ALL of their older Skylanders, and have started playing from the first game, from scratch again, so clearly they are motivated.

Trap Team is indeed awesome until you try and track down all the traps. The final trap is impossible to find which is insane to me.

My wife lucked out and found a Kaos trap at Target. She didn't even know what she had until I told her.

Sounds like the amiibo all over again. We might 'skip' this one

It's just that ONE trap. Not sure why Activision ran such a low number of them (unless they're the third party sellers jacking the price up). Artificial scarcity? Wouldn't put it past them.

I can't for the life of me find the dark or light sets, though.

Right when they came out I ordered them off Amazon for normal price of 29.99. I just checked and they are no longer for sale from amazon for that price, hopefully they will get more in stock.

Funny, I'm pretty sure I stepped on a Kaos trap in the dark last night. Ouch.

We bought the original one off of Craigslist and got some figures with it. Then, I couldn't stop picking up a fig or 2 from CList or elsewhere. Sometimes, I'd buy a "lot of Skylanders" from CList that had some dups that we already owned. I gave most of those to my nephews, along with a copy of the game and a portal.

We really enjoyed the game, then didn't play for quite a while. On a lark, I went into Game Stop a few months ago and decided to buy a Trap Team starter bundle. The gal that works there stopped me and told me there was going to be a huge sale on Skylander stuff the next day in prep for the upcoming new Superchargers.

Soooooo, I took my wife in the next day and we went bat-sh*t crazy buying stuff, all of the figs at half price or better, and grabbed Trap Team for $30. We loved Trap Team, especially Broccoli Guy. He RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuullllleeeeesss......

We finished Trap Team, and my friend traded me his figs, the Giants game, and the Swap Force game for a board game I had that he wanted. We still haven't played them. We only have the 2 Swap Force dudes he gave us that I think came with the game.

On a lark, I put all of our Skylanders on a table and took a pic a few weeks ago. I showed my wife the pic and said "The definition of Too Many Skylanders". She replied "OMG, yes. That's too many."

A couple seconds went by and then she realized it was OUR table. Her face was priceless. I'm sure there are a LOT of people who have more than we do, but we do definitely have too many.

These are the dups we have that I'm giving to my friend along with the game for XBox 360 since we don't need that disc or the portal.

My wife is a big Disney fan but isn't getting into Infinity. She prefers the linear aspect of Skylanders plus teh fact that we don't get split up. We plan on skipping Superchargers, but who knows what the future brings...

ARISE!

I found this old thread on accident while looking for something else.

We did end up getting Superchargers when the starter set went on sale then followed that with some individual purchases. I don't recall the game being that great, but, we played through the whole thing. That was the end of Skylanders for quite a while with us. Until...

Maybe 4 months or so ago I saw someone selling Swap Force and almost all of the swap dudes on eBay for PS4 for real cheap so I grabbed it. We hadn't played Giants or Swap Force before but had the game for Wii that my friend had traded to us. We just never played them. We'd only played the original, Trap Team, and SuperChargers plus a couple of the add-on pack things. So, we played through Swap Force and liked it more than Trap Team and much better than SuperChargers.

Right before Christmas this year, I saw someone selling around 90 figures and all the games (Wii-U) on FBook Marketplace for $75. I looked at all the pics and determined that there were around 35 that we didn't have. I wrote her and told her I was only interested in less than half of her figures and didn't need the games - hopefully we could work something out.

She wrote back "Please take it all, $50, I just want to get rid of it all." BAM! Done.

It turned out that I needed 41 or 42 of the figures because some were different series models of guys I had, I just didn't realize it from the pics. She had quite a few of the Imaginators. I found an Imaginators starter set on eBay for $11 shipped (?!?crazy?!?) so jumped on that.

We're about 75% of the way through Imaginators. Now that the holiday break is over, it isn't getting any play time, but we'll get back to it soonish.

My nephew (different nephew than the one we gave other Skylanders to) has a 360 so we bought Giants and Swap Force on 360 and gave him a lot of the extras that we had for Christmas along with some Lego games. I hope he gets into them.

Skylanders may pretty much be dead but Kit and I are still enjoying them. There are some figures I'd like to have for her so I check eBay now and then, but I just can't get myself to spend $5+ on a dude(tte) at this point. She prefers to play the female figs so I'm always on the lookout for ones we don't have. I bought her 3 from Vintage Stock to put in her stocking and we somehow lost 1 of them between Christmas morning and 2 days later when we finished Swap Force and started up Imaginators. Sadness.

If anyone wants some older skylanders I have a bunch in a box that I will probably never use.

You may have a couple I would want. Would you be able to set them out and take a picture of them all? I should be able to tell by the figure and base color if I have it already. I mean a group picture, not a picture of each individual one.

If you don't want to go through the effort and just want to dump them all in one shot, I'd take them and rehome any that are duplicates of ours.
