Oh wow! Stratford? I just played a gig there a few weeks back for the Festival Stratford at Short Beach Park. Nice beach.

We live right up the road from Short Beach.....you should come back for our party!

Crap, so I just found out that I actually have to work on the Sunday after the S&T. I'm still planning on coming, though I might have to peace out a bit earlier.

All righty! You can not break your running streak of coming to each one. Were you able to convince your girlfriend to come?

I would love to come and finally meet some of the folks for reals but I can't commit just yet.
What's your policy on pets? If the wife comes too then i would need to figure out what to do with our sweet doggykins.

We have a dog of our own, and a cat, and a fish and I would prefer not to have any others simply because Moxie is very excitable and will be overly so with all these people that she will think are coming just to visit her...my poor husband has been blessed enough to have an overly emotional and needy wife and dog...

What kind of dog do you have? Does it get along well with other dogs?

Sadly, no. I think she would have a lot of fun, but I can't convince her to come.

She's a basset hound:

It shouldn't be an issue either way - I'm sure I can drop her off at the in-laws for a day, but I'm just checking my options

Oh my goodness! Her face just made me cry haha...but it could also be the raging pregnancy hormones lol But Penny is super cute....honestly, if you could find somewhere else it would be easier, just because our dog is so excitable and with that many new people to meet and greet and me having to remind her every 5 minutes that she weighs 70 pounds and not 10...I will have my hands full...

Hope this doesn't detour your decision to come on out and meet some new people!

Doc and I are leaving in the morning for a week long, internet free vacation, so we will not be able to respond to questions in this thread (well, maybe doc can on his phone, but I do not know). So ask now, or forever hold your questions, at least for a week!

Will the S&T be super awesome?

Spoiler:

YES!

My wife is interested in coming too, we'll probably be able to drop the dog off on the way at her parents' in East Lyme so things are looking good at the moment.

My wife's a definite no - she just bought a ticket for the Radio City Two Towers concert the same night

Perfecto!! Will be nice to get some ladies involved! There will be a few wives this year it seems!

And you have to miss that?

Eh.. I like Lord of the Rings, but I'm fine without going to the concert. She, on the other hand, is a freakin' huge fan of the films/books/etc., and wouldn't miss it for the world. Now that she's got an account here, she'll be joining in on stuff eventually

Cool, then maybe she shall make it next years slap and tickle! I don't play many games, TF2 and some Wii and rock band, but I really enjoy having my account here and posting and participating...almost always in the everything else thread. And it is equally fun to put faces to names!

Okay, we are home from vacation, let the thread commence! Go on.....say something!

I know this community has a lot of board gamers. I love board games but I'm still new to them, and I'd love to be introduced to something while I'm there. Is anyone planning on bringing anything?

Something! Missy, do you want me to bring anything? Casual, I know I'd be up for board games if there's something going on. I don't have any good ones at the moment.

We have Cash and Guns which is unique and fun....I heard great things this week about Apples to Apples but we do not own it. Does anyone and is it the type of game for this? We have poker chips, scategories...I think that may be it for board games....if you have something fun, by all means, bring it!!

Missy, Apples to Apples is a great game, a fun drinking game.

Sadly we are gonna be missing this one (BOO!) but will be making hopefully the next!

I ought to be able to bring Catan and Carcassone. I might even be willing to run D&D Encounters, if there is interest.

I really want to try Carcassone!

I'd be interested in all three. It's been years since I've played any D&D outside of a computer.

I picked up Apples to Apples today!

I'd be interested in all three as well. Same goes for Apples to Apples or really any board game. I could also bring Dominion if anybody wants to play that.

Edit: Oh! And maybe some bad news. It looks like I might also be working on the Saturday. Since we just entered Alpha, they introduced this new bug fixing goal and if we don't hit our weekly goal, we have to come in on Saturday. So I won't know until next week if I will have to bow out or not.

Now that I have removed any doubt of my ability to make it down for this, is there interest in carpooling from the Worcester area?

Who did you come with last year? Weren't there 3 of you in the car? Sorry, terrible memory for names!

Atras, Merphle, and I carpooled last year. What do you say guys? Do you want to carpool again?
