WOW- BHA guild offer and info

Got bored with the glut of FPS games as of late, tapping the vein one more time, hopefully get to the 60's before my mini break strikes again.

Hello,

I'm looking for a refuge on Blackhand of sane, fun individuals, and perusing through the Guild Finder led me to believe that you guys might meet at least one of those requirements (I'll let ya'll choose which one you prefer to be ).

A little bit about me: I'm a serial WoW player with a mild (chronic) case of alt-titis who enjoys going through new content. Currently, I'm trying to learn a bit about the Alliance side. My home server is Hyjal, where I'm an officer with a guild called Amicus, who I've been with for about 8 years -- we're a great group and if you'd ever like to check us out (but, to avoid this becoming an advertisement, just PM me here if you'd like to check out our website).

Outside of WoW, I'm a freelance copywriter with a fairly busy schedule. I also bake bread and cookies for friends, charities, and anyone who is willing to eat them.

I can't promise I'll ever be raid ready, but I can promise that I will provide a never-ending stream of bad jokes, puns, and odd commentary in guild chat when I'm on. Or at least, a very large amount -- if there is a limit to it, I have yet to find it.

I'm hoping to get a chance to meet everyone here, you seem like a great group!

If you havent yet, get in touch with one of us in-game, or leave a PM to organize a meetup time, and we can get you tagged and going. Be glad to have you.

19 weeks since the last post in here.

=(

Anyway, hello friends. Please look here and let the abuses begin.

Psh. You can't take your bat and ball home then complain when no one else is playing.

I'm not complaining! It just makes me sad that there doesn't seem to be a lot going on. We had a ton of fun for a really long time, it was nice. Would that we could do it again but I fear life is going to continue to interfere with that.

Oh. So update on the guild? Well, I am GM again. We have a relatively static 10 man group that raids twice weekly and we're half way through Terrace of Endless Spring. Ry is drunk 95% of any given raid, I say about a dozen words unless someone says something about rogue mechanics then I don't STFU and Youko sends her Oily pet off to die.

All in all, pretty damn good.

I'm useful vicariously!

I think the most common sound from Reap these days is disapproving silence, since he has been busy teaching Zenke how to play a rogue.

Hello all!

Great guild name ... GWJ Alliance ... gamersw with jobs.

My in-game name is Xryn, RL name Brynn, and I am looking for a guild. I just came back to the game a couple months ago after a 5 year break. I spent a month on Shu'Halo getting a healer monk up to 90. I tried a couple of servers, and finally landed on Blackhand.

I am looking for a larger-sized guild that I can work into raiding, dungeons, and whatever else with. I plan on staying on this server for the entire time I am playing from this point forward. I have a Shadow/Disc Priest that I am raising to be either a primary heal-shielder or a decent DPS for other times.

I am not sure what else you would like to know for this application process, but I would like consideration.

Have fun all!

Howdy.

GWJ is a smaller friends and family / community style guild. We have a small raid team of around 8 core raiders and five alternates in 10 man and I would say most of that team is done with LFR. We are not expanding to a second raid team at this team. I am not sure if we are what you are looking for. There is an active raiding scene on Blackhand and the big guilds recruit on the official server forum

I can touch base with you in-game if you like.

I have not raided a whole lot. I would like to occasionally raid between doing heroics. Whoever is on wanting to, and finding more with LFR sounds good. Wish we had the EQ2 option to mentor down and help other guildies like I used to way back then.

Yeah, I would like to hear from you in game about joining. I can't always commit to some guilds hardcore raid schedules, so just the option of raiding with a few guildies when available sounds good.

Any of you like to group together and PVP? Just curious.

Hello! I was hoping to join the guild. My character on Blackhand is named "Grovez". I'm just getting back into the game after a year off. I mostly play to relax at the end of the day and would like to meet some new people in game.

Hoping to get an invite to the guild, please. Just back for the first time in about four years. VERY casual - gamer with job and wife and daughter.

New toon is Yossarian, which is probably the only one I'll play for a while. Have a bunch left over from the Wrath days... my main was a druid healer, Aretz.

Hi all... I'm a longtime GWJ lurker who attends occasional Cons at the Castle. I'm relatively new to WoW, looking for a very friendly group who won't mind a newbie who is desperate for social interaction.
Any chance I might fight in?

Aretz, PathBeast, if you catch someone online we'll add you. Just do a /who GWJ and you'll find us. Or add me (Selika), Jorrn or Shanker to your friends list

Thanks, kilanash! I will do so.

Just coming back to the game after a long layoff looking for an active social guild. My in game name is Ultt.

Like KilianAsh said above, pst someone in the GWJ guild the next time you're on. We're on Blackhand-Alliance.

The guild isn't all that active (we had 8 folks on the other night - that's definitely a high-water mark recently) but it's certainly social.

If one were choosing between favorite classes to level or boost first, with the outside possibility of GWJ BHA 10-mans being a thing again, what's the current makeup of the regulars and their alts? Any glaring holes or would whatever work?

I'm a tankadin main, but could go Ret if others less casual want to tank.
I'm planning to use my boost on range DPS but haven't decided which class.

Pick a class you like, WM, and go with that.

There was a pretty good core 10s group in Cata, but about half of those folks quit before MoP came out. Pretty much all of the raiding in Mists has been of the LFR variety. A few folks (Reap/Shank, Carg and Selika, I think) hooked up with some other guilds for some Flex fun. I don't think there was a 10s group in this guild this go-round.

I think you'll enjoy the game more if you roll something you like and try to fit it into a raid group than to anticipate a group's needs with a class you're not all that fond of.

Everyone needs tanks, but you have to have a really thick skin to tank in an LFR group.

Yeah, play what you like, mostly. I liked tanking and was good enough at it, but I didn't really like tanking for full pugs. I liked tanking for guild groups and raids. I find myself wanting to try rDPS at end game some this time around. I'd like to actually see the encounters instead of staring at boss crotch.

Also, not having to be responsible. But I do love pally tanking. Or did. We'll see what it's like these days.

We actually did have a full guild group for a while from patch 5.1 to 5.2 or so, and managed to fully clear the initial three raids on Normal, but after Throne came out people got bored of wiping on Horridon and stopped showing up. What was left of us (and those of us who came back) hooked up with Rapture to do Flex Siege, until people got bored of wiping on Garrosh and stopped showing up.

If you think you're sensing a theme here, you probably are.

Theoretically speaking it should be a lot easier to gear multiple roles in Warlords since, for example, you have "Plate" now instead of "Int Plate" and "Strength Plate". Tanks are valuable but you only ever need two. Healers are just as valuable and you often need more of them. Good DPS is always good. If you really want to help, be flexible and able to perform multiple roles. Well, that and not getting bored easily.

Well I've got several 80+ toons to choose from on Blackhand, all of which I enjoy playing - was just trying to make the decision of what to level first easier. The closest is Arrmatey at 87...sad at where hunters are now but might just continue on with him since he's closest then focus on something else.

You sure it was bored Carg? Some of us just got too busy with 2.0 versions of ourselves. Miss you guys very much and wish I had time to come back and wipe the raid like I use to do.

Oh Grinds. You are missed.

Anyway, I'm faction changing my DK, Warlock, and Rogue over to Horde (my Rogue started life as Undead on Mal'ganis over nine years ago). I mention this here because the Rogue is still an officer in GWJ:A. I still have quite a few alts in GWJ:A so I'll still pop in occasionally.

If anyone else is unaware, Faction Change and Character Transfer are 25% off right now (22.50 and 18.75).

Good luck on the dark side, Max.

If you run across me in a BG, be sure to wave before you blow me to smithereens.

C'mon. You know you want to.

*filthy enabling*

I used the new Pre-made finder and pugged Heroic Garrosh last night. Not only was it relatively easy, it was... gasp... quite fun!
