GWJ Online Boardgame Group

We had bugs in our early Beta game, and I sure wouldn't play any of these games virtually if you're looking for tells, signals, deal-making, or negotiation, though I wonder how much of that goes on in BR.

Within my gaming group that plays these types of games in person, A LOT. Blood Rage is one of our favorites and we've played it a ton. We were all ready to quit playing the BGA version midway through the first age.

Anyone feel like a game of Beyond the Sun?

The answer to that is always yes. (Asynch only)

Edit: oh too slow. Ok, how do I create a game in a group? Don’t see that option.
Edit2: found it. Standby….
Edit3: who else feels like a game of Beyond the Sun? https://en.boardgamearena.com/table?...

I've always wanted to learn Beyond the Sun - I'm in (JNacht on BGA). Good excuse to learn it.

I just signed up for this one too!

So that's who you are. Great win in A Feast For Odin, btw!

Thanks! Happy to play again any time.

I have no idea what I'm doing in this game of Beyond the Sun, but I'm intrigued so far.

So, how well does Feast for Odin play on BGA? I've played my analog copy a couple times so far, but curious how the ok implementation is.

It's really good. It handles all of the exchanges, actions, and scoring automatically. There are specific interfaces for adding tiles to your various players boards, islands, or houses/sheds. There are a handful of things that are a little obscure. It's not immediately obvious that you can buy boats. Some people have been confused between occupation cards in hand vs. cards that have actually been played. Also, once you put items on your board and save the placement, you can't take it back. As long as you're careful it's fine. Overall I've been very impressed and it's very easy to play.

As Boudreaux said, it's really good. I'm very impressed, considering the game is so complicated and has so many side boards and counters.

I thought it worth mentioning that Yucata.de now also has an implementation of Innovation, as does BGA. The amazing part is that the expansions Cities, Echoes and Figures are all available.

(This is certainly a tangent but can someone explain to me how BGA, a for-profit venture owned by a very large multi-national corporation, can utilize Ned Flanders so flagrantly on its website? Or has Fox/Disney simply not noticed?)

I'm blind. Where??

In the images for virtually all news posts.

For example, as of right now, the top news item promotes El Grande as newly available. Ned has been added on the far left hand side of the gamebox. I guess "flagrantly" is overstated above ... but I just checked the last handful of new releases posts and he is "hidden away" in the images for all of them... Just seems really weird to me, but that's maybe just me.

Huh, not super obvious and I rarely look at box or concept art so didn't see that before. Thank you!

So is Memoir '44 and oh man it's so fun. I get it's not the most realistic wargame and luck plays a huge factor, but it's just a classic. And the BGA implementation is really well done.

I agree, I've played a few async games of Memoir '44 on BGA and it's a lot of fun. Plenty of maps available too, and I believe more to come. I'm NeutrinoVe on BGA if you want an async game, or if anyone else wants to try it out?

I'm always down to play pretty much anything (async) any time on BGA

Haven't tried Memoir '44 on BGA yet. I've played the game a couple of time and while there are other Commands and Colors games I prefer, I'll take what I can get!

I've opened up a table on BGA for Memoir '44 (GWJ BGA group)

Scenario: Wake Island
Game speed:1 move per 2 days

Joined! (I'm JNacht on BGA)

I own a physical copy of Memoir and love it, but haven't played in over 15 years.

How ironic! I'm planning on getting rid of my copy of Memoir '44 and expansions, because I have Combat Commander and C&C: Ancients. However, it's great to know that this is in Beta. And if this is in Beta, why isn't C&C: Ancients? ::pulls hair out::

I'm MisterStatic on BGA. I will start adding those that have posted their username. Please feel free to add me!

I opened a game of Carcassonne if anyone is interested.
