I hearby propose that Week 2 should be renamed in honor of Deion Sanders' catch-phrase "Hold on, playa." Many assertions that this team/player is good/bad got dashed this week. Let's have a look:
Raiders 35 - Bills 38: Harvard, FTW. Back and forth back and forth all during the second half, but Buffalo had the walk-off hit in the bottom of the ninth. Not quite the shelacking they gave Kansas City last week, but...hang on, I'm sensing something...
Chiefs 3 - Lions 48: Oh yeah, this. Detroit seemed to want to send Kansas City head coach Todd Haley his walking papers based on the late score towards the end of the game that the Chiefs couldn't stop. Then again, doesn't look like the Chiefs can stop much of anything.
Ravens 13 - Titans 26: Baltimore's induced a severe case of back-pedaling; Joe Flacco seemed to take all the praise he was given and threw them along with a few passes into the hands of Tennessee's defense.
Browns 27 - Colts 19: I think we can assume that so long as Peyton Manning is forced to fly to Europe for experimental stem cell treatments, any game versus Indianapolis should skew towards the opposition in the betting line.
Buccaneers 24 - Vikings 20: I think Detroit fans should mail their paper bag masks to Minnesota fans. It's not just that they're 0-2, they're 0-2 after having leads in both games only to let the other teams back into it. Oh, and Tampa Bay belongs in the grossly premature playoff talk.
Bears 13 - Saints 30: Hold on, playa game #2, with one of last week's biggest winners dropping one to a team who came out of Week 1 scratching their heads. The NFC might actually be exciting to watch this year.
Jaguars 3 - Jets 32: Okay, who had McCown getting benched in Week 2. Anybody? Anybody?
Seahawks 0 - Steelers 24: Hold on, playa #3. While Pittsburgh reversed its fortunes, they were also hit with another unfortunate trend that occurred this week: injured quarterbacks. Well, for all of maybe a few plays.
Cardinals 21 - Redskins 22: Are my eyes deceiving me or is Washington actually making noise? I suspect the bulk of that is laughter coming from Mike Shanahan and Daniel Snyder.
Packers 30 - Panthers 23: You know, Cam Newton may not just be the rookie of the year, he could also be the MVP. Seriously, without him, would Carolina make any of these games close, even though they lost?
Cowboys 27 - 49ers 24 (OT): Hold on, Tony Romo haters. He fought through injury and brought Dallas back from the brink of defeat...
...still hasn't done anything in the playoffs...
Anyway, I wonder if Jim Harbaugh's second-guessing that decision to decline the penalty and take the field goal instead of trying for the full touchdown.
Bengals 22 - Broncos 24: I'm imagining that the average Denver fan's chant went something like "Te...Orton!"
Texans 23 - Dolphins 13: Maybe Miami should stop playing games at home. And Arian who? Houston certainly didn't look like they were missing him all that much, for now.
Chargers 21 - Patriots 35: I wonder if Vince Wilfork is still hyperventilating after that interception return. I also wonder if Tom Brady and Cam Newton are on the verge of blowing up every single season passing record on the books.
Eagles 31 - Falcons 35: QB Down, Episode 3, but not with a happy ending for Philadelphia. Perhaps slumping quarterbacks should read/drink/smoke whatever Romo and Atlanta's Matt Ryan did considering their week-to-week turnaround.
Rams 16 - Giants 28: Don't worry, Eli, they're saying Boo-urns. Oh wait, New York won; I guess Coughlin's job is safe for another week.
Week 3 Pick 'Em: A much improved week for you guys and congrats to Gumbie for pulling himself out of the cellar. Here are the totals for the previous week, again grouped by ranking followed by order of entry:

jowner: 3-2
Starting to see some separation, but as you can see one perfect week can reverse your fortunes. Here's what's on tap for this week which should hopefully make things interesting:
Texans at Saints: Ah, now here's a tricky one. Big question mark here is the teams defenses. Give the edge to the home team. Saints.
Packers at Bears: Here's a big one with division control implications. But, I'm not liking Chicago's chances here. Green Bay.
Falcons at Buccaneers: Another chin scratcher. Hmmmm, I think I'll take the upset here. Bucs.
Redskins at Cowboys: Another delicious old-school rivalry. Dallas burned me last week and I'm not sold on Washington being the top team in the NFC East. Cowboys
For my wild card, I'm picking the Panthers over the Jaguars. Cam Newton!*
* = Picture that like Shatner saying "Denny Crane!"
Saints
Packers
Falcons
Redskins
Chargers over KC - I'm on the fire Haley bandwagon for life now.
My question of the week concerns Tony Romo playing with a cracked rib *and* a partially collapsed lung: At what point does courage and desire to win turn into stupidity?
Saints
Bears
Falcons
Redskins
Seahawks over the Cardinals.
Saints
Packers
Buccaneers
Redskins
Wildcard: Detroit over Minnesota
Tough batch of games you picked...
Texans at Saints: Go with the home team. Saints.
Packers at Bears: Chicago just can't keep up with Aaron Rodgers. The Pack wins a shootout.
Falcons at Buccaneers: Falcons, just because.
Redskins at Cowboys: After playing Romo with a broken rib - let alone a punctured lung! - is irresponsible, Karma gives this to Washington.
For my wild card, I will go against a long streak, and my home team, and pick the Bills over the Patriots. The Pats have not been stopping anybody with defense, instead relying on what is essentially lucky turnovers to keep the lead. I think this week ends that trend.
Saints
Packers
Falcons
Redskins
Wildcard: Titans over Broncos
Continuing my trend of not bolding my picks are
Texans
Packers
Bucs
Redskins
And wildcard I'll take lions over vikes.
Texans at Saints: I don't think the Texans have fixed their secondary yet. Saints in a shootout.
Packers at Bears: If the bears can't block the Saints D-Line, they are in big trouble against the Pack. Packers and Cutler doesn't finish the game.
Falcons at Buccaneers: The Falcons biggest weakness are their O-Tackles, but I don't think the Bucs have the pressure off the edge to exploit it. Falcons
Redskins at Cowboys: The Cowboys actually just got a gutsy performance from the biggets chocker in the NFL. That's got to inspire them to a win this week.
Wildcard: Steelers over the Colts because well....the Colts got whooped by Cleveland and I am guessing the Steelers' pride is still bruised.
Saints At home? Why yes, I'll pick them.
Packers Bears didn't look good last week.
Buccaneers At home. That's the only reason why.
Redskins The Boys are too banged up on offense.
Wildcard: Titans over the Broncos. If the Titans D can bring it, they may surprise people.
I hearby propose that Week 2 should be renamed in honor of Deion Sanders' catch-phrase "Hold on, playa."
...
.... etc. etc. etc. ...
...
* = Picture that like Shatner saying "Denny Crane!"
Seriously. I look forward to this every week.
I always look forward to ... MY GOD, MAN. YOU HAVE PICKED THE PANTHERS TO WIN!!?!1!?
Saints over Texans
Packers over Bears
Buccaneers over Falcons
Cowboys over Redskins
Wildcard: Chargers over Chiefs
So is the Snyderkarma effect enough to trump the skins history of doing well/winning superbowls in strike shortened seasons? Inquiring minds want to know!

I think Mike Shanahan is one of the finest coaches in the NFL, and Denver was stupid to scapegoat him and let him go.
And I think we're starting to see what happens when the Redskins actually participate in the draft instead of flushing all their picks down the toilet for overrated old veterans.
Precisely. Just being a sane, hands off owner should be enough to get you to 8-8 with that schedule (nfc west opponents ) .
Texans at Saints
Packers at Bears
Falcons at Buccaneers
Redskins at Cowboys (I just can't see the Redskins going (3-0), I'm just going to take the Cowboys)
Wild Card Pick: Detroit at Minnesota
Texans at Saints
Packers at Bears
Falcons at Buccaneers
Redskins at Cowboys
Patriotsover Bills for the wildcard
St Louis Rams file claim that Giants faked injuries to disrupt their no huddle flow.
Couple of comments on this. A big part of me is embarrassed to be a Giants fan, and the other part of me knows that this happens a lot in football, it's just never caught on camera so blatently. I also think that there should be a rule to prevent this from happening, like the player cannot return for the rest of that series, or they have to sit out multiple plays, rather than just one.
Texans at Saints
Packers at Bears
Falcons at Buccaneers
Redskins at Cowboys (I'm assuming Romo won't play)
Wildcard: Panthers over Jaguars. Carolina is due, Carolina is home and Carolina will outgun Jax. Expect a lot of offense (even from J-action-ville).

Yeah I saw that clip yesterday and it was ridiculous. The Giants should be embarrassed. I hope the players and the team gets big fines.

Yeah. That's pretty much the logical extension of Buddyball from the Buddy Ryan era when folks would roll around on the ground to get a free timeout. They'd also kick the ball around the field so that the official would need extra time to set the ball for the next play. It's a dick thing to do and they should be fined for it (or at least be hit with the occasional 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty).
I'm not sure the Redskins will be able to win even if Romo doesn't play. Dallas always plays tough at home and as hurt as they are, they still have a lot of talent on that bench. I'm unconvinced that Washington is more than an 8-8 team.
Texans at Saints: Saints are too much for the Texans on the road (maybe at home, though)
Packers at Bears: The Packers are really really good. The Bears? Not so much.
Falcons at Buccaneers: Really close game but TB pulls it out
Redskins at Cowboys: Redskins make it pretty close but Rex Grossman wakes up this week and remembers he's Rex Grossman
Wildcard: Easy pick - Chiefs at Chargers: The Chiefs' coach better have his resume updated after this one. It'll be over in the 1st quarter, he can spend the rest of the game working on what he will be doing next week (which probably won't be coaching football).
Texans at Saints: They're at home, and I trust Brees more than Schaub.
Packers at Bears: Jay Cutler may actually die this year on the field if Martz keeps calling empty backfield plays. No douche-face is bad enough to deserve this.
Falcons at Buccaneers: Note that I am picking against Tampa; I may be a homer, but I'm a realistic homer. Tampa sucks vs. power backs, and I expect Turner to plow through them. Also, Ryan is really good in the pocket and is iffy once he's been knocked around a bit, and the Bucs couldn't get a pass rush against Minnesota's piece of crap offensive line. I expect it to be somewhat close, but I think the Falcons are just a better team right now.
Redskins at Cowboys: Rex Grossman looked good against the Cardinals. I would like to point out that the really important part of that statement is the "against the Cardinals" part of it, not the "Rex Grossman looked good" part of it. He's Rex Grossman. He will collapse. I am assuming Romo plays. If he doesn't, well, John Kitna looked awful the other day, and I expect the Redskins to win based on them getting 47 interceptions.
Wild Card: Lions at Vikings. The only way the Vikings will win games this year is by slamming AP into the middle of the defensive line over and over again, and then going play action. Not going to work against the Lions.
OH MY GOD I JUST PICKED THE LIONS ON THE ROAD THE WORLD IS ENDING NOW.
Bears
Saints
Falcons
Redskins
Panthers for my wildcard
I'm very sad that you don't have my season to date picks, despite my copying week 1's picks in both threads. I will copy them here again. I will resort to 30 pt font saying RAT BOY next time if you don't see it. Edit: also, I might cry and write in my diary about it.

Jolly Bill wrote:Packers, Falcons, Steelers, Jets. That was pretty easy (and popular).
tiebreak: Tenn over Jacksonville. I wanna see this Garrard thing blow up in their faces.
Yes, I'm terrible for putting it in a format so you wouldn't see it. Still, I'm 2-3.
Lions
Vikings
Patriots
GiantsWildcard: Packers over Panthers
Edit: Now bolding week 1 picks that were missed in week 1
Here are a couple questions.
Will the Redskins go after Romo? If they do, do they have the pass rush tools to get to him enough to significantly degrade his play (i.e.: make him make bad decisions)? With two WR's and his RB hurt, can he mix things up enough to keep the pass rush at bay?
Saints over Texans - I hate to pick against my home team, but I think the Saints hand them their first loss of the year this weekend. The offense looked anemic vs. Miami, and the defense gave up some plays that made Henne look like a stud. This is one pick I'll be glad to get wrong, though.
Packers over Bears - No explanation needed. GB is just looking that good this year.
Buccaneers over Falcons - Going with the underdog here. Freeman is really impressive.
Redskins over Cowboys - If Romo plays he goes out early after aggravating the rib injury. A close game but I think the Redskins take this one, as Kitna doesn't have the tools to get the Boys over the hump. Another one I won't mind getting wrong.
Tiebreaker: Jets over Oakland.
Edit:
Paleo, the Redskins most definitely go after Romo. You don't even need particularly elite rushers. You send seven or eight rushers and get in his face, knock him down a few times and he'll be nursing that rib if he even stays in the game. As a defensive player, that is your job - take out the QB. Maybe you get burnt over the top once or twice, but if you knock out their star player your chances of winning just doubled.
Domenik Hixon apparently tore his ACL again, and is out for the year. Dear Giants fans, burn a fatted calf, sacrifice a virgin, just do something to appease the football gods who have apparently been greatly offended by thee.
Blaine Gabbert starting for the Jaguars on Sunday.
Here's my shocked face -->
If the team is going to have QB struggles, it should be in the name of developing the new hopefully-franchise-QB.

Andy Reid ate the fatted calf, can we sacrifice him?
If belts could talk, this one would be screaming in pain
