WoW - Massive 4.3 News Overload - Huge boost for casual/new/returning players.

It's like the life of the party had a couple babies or something.

(also we, collectively, were bored with the content)

Strangely, I think I can probably raid a night a week now. WoW is so little impact and so easy ATM that if I need to take 5 minutes to change or burp something, you guys could get on without me. I'd be up for gearing Bean, I think.

Self-important much?

We did try and get raids going in your absence but there wasn't enough interest to field a real composition.

Only a couple of months now til everyone comes flooding back for a month, anyway.

I think I left off needing a Chogall kill, All of FL and DS (the last two having come out after my departure).

I may mess around and see if I can get back in the swing of things through LFD and see where I sit after that.
Thanks all for the input.

Proving my point!

(yes, I'm joking about the self-importance)

Late input on gearing strategies, but if you run LFR once a week and grind the hell out of LFD, you can be a very well geared 85 in about a week. Really depends on how many hours you can throw at it beyond ~2 for DS LFR.

Lets be honest, shall we?

These refer a friend promotions are not about getting new people to play WoW anymore. They are specifically to get more box copies sold, more cash from character transfers, and old subscribers to renew with the lure of xp boosts, mounts, free month subscriptions and gifted levels.

For 2x $15 plus whatever piddly amount you can get a boxed copy of WoW for ($5?), each accounts gets 60 days of game time, 30 gifted levels times as many characters you can level to 60 with triple xp (divided by 2 since xp is split in groups) in 60 days. For $15 more you get a flying mount that someone else can ride.

Then, of course for $25 a piece you can transfer the level 60's to your primary account. (the real gotcha in my opinion)

Last ditch content effort hmm? Tempting...

Aren't you missing all of the T11 end bosses? I know I still need to kill Nef and Al'Akir.

Is avg ilvl 372 still a requirement for LFR? Hovering at 366 on the rogue and 364 on the lock.

At expac launch GWJ:A will be a flood of too many people wanting to raid for two months which will lead to raid organizers satisfying people/breaking hearts (meaning there will be 30 mDPS, 4 ranged, 4 healers, and 6 tanks). Then by the third month attrition sets in among the raiders. Granted there will be a flood of more casual players that want to roll a panda monk and will hit level 20 then quit after a month.

I haven't resubbed yet. I am still on a Scroll of Rez trial. My plans with GW2 and MoP got thrown off with the MoP release announcement. Leaning towards one month sub until GW2 launch. Not sure if I am picking up MoP at launch. Might give it a month for the "dust" to settle.

ArrMatey and Groggins may or may not be finding their way through Hyjal and Vash'jir respectively at the moment. Not looking like I'll be raid-ready next week, but I'm having fun exploring. Say Hi if you see me.

Can anybody hook me up with a scroll of resurrection? We've got a rainy weekend coming up here, and I wouldn't mind taking some time to re-explore the world....but I never bought Cataclysm. =)

EDIT: Thanks, BadKen!

Project 9K update: It's done.

With this one last quest, which had me walk a bunch of land mines from one goblin to another in K3, I got the Loremaster achievement, which also pushed me over the 9,000 achievement point mark.

I think I need a drink. And a break. Bring on Mists!
