Whoops, I mistyped. I meant Auctioneer, typed Auctionator. Not sure where my brain was.

Were you recently watching Phineas & Ferb? Sounds like a really eeeeevil device Dr. Doofenshmirtz would invent...

Nah, that would be the Auctioninator. That's in my bank, I lost so much gold using it...

I'm so grateful they f*cked those of us working to get Darkmoon Faire rep and goodies the old way.

DBM's been pretty borked up as well, with several updates. Most other things are functioning fine, although there's an addon somewhere that's preventing the game from loading. I haven't figured out which one is doing that though.

Two I know that are causing me problems are Altaholic and Auctionator. Don't think the latter causes a failure to load, though I'm pretty sure the former does. Most of my mods are working well enough at this point aside from those. Looks like I've been able to turn pretty much everything else back on though, at least as of yesterday. Just noticed that Blizzard has changed enough stuff again that it turned off "load out of date addons" again.

It wasn't either one of those; the game would load as long as I clicked load out of date addons. I never did figure out what was causing the issue, and wound up stripping a bunch of addons out of my collection and started using ElvUI and have been very happy with the look/feel so far. I figure that the issue was probably a titan panel mod that I don't really miss that much any more.

As for the patch itself? Sweet mercy, but the DS 5 mans are a huge boost to your iLvL. My Shaman went from 362 average to 376 in a couple days, with equipped iLvL at 372 for Resto and 374 for Enhance. Just crazy.

I'll second that. My main was already all 378s in her tanking set and probably around 370-372 in her dps set, but even so I still picked up two slight upgrades to the tanking set (slightly better itemized) plus three outright upgrades to the dps set along with one or two slightly better itemized pieces. Can't wait to get my alts rocketing up.

Update to this: I've gone through the entire Dragon Soul raid using LFR. For the most part, it was exceptionally painless and I pulled several gear upgrades; a belt and 3/5 T13. Raiding is now roughly the same as running a random dungeon. The encounters themselves are quite simple and completable provided you're using DBM and follow instructions. Very fun though, I'm quite impressed with what Blizzard pulled off here. With that said, I do wish they'd alter loot a little bit, and let folks stay eligible for loot until they'd gotten loot from a boss rather than cutting you off after one attempt. To counterbalance this, folks should only get one piece of loot per boss rather than be able to get multiple loot drops from a single boss, which is exceedingly common.

Congrats to you for walking 10 miles uphill in the snow both ways.

After grinding my warlock to 310 fire resist (for kicks mostly) in BC, I learned to just let that stuff go.

My personal resist gear grind was nature resist for AQ40. Geh.

Fun read, and pretty representative of the LFD population. I've been doing way too much LFD on my 85s for VPs and Satchels lately.

We should do some El/Rant or Kel/Sel runs this weekend. I haven't maxed on either this week yet.

It's been tough, since it was a sudden change, you know? Not a level-cap hamster wheel. Things had been one way for years, then boom. If you don't obsessively go to their site and look over every patch preview instead of, you know, just playing the game, this sh*t goes under your radar.

EDIT: Nevermind. Done with apologists.

Blizzard sent me an e-mail stating that they were giving me 7 days of free play time now that the patch is out. With as much free time as I am getting from Blizzard, I might as well have a subscription!

Question for the resident resto druids:

Healing Touch is our big heal, correct? Is it just me, or if you try to chain them on someone, can you interrupt yourself by starting to cast another one too soon? It seems like this was happening to me yesterday while healing some dungeons (new to healing). I guess I just expected it to work like DPS casts, where you can chain them without difficulty.

Although, I just realized, I have all of my healing spells keybound to mouseover macros... The macro may be written to do just that. I will have to take a look at that and remove it for things that have a cast time that I can chain like that.

Made it through the first of the new 5 mans last night, Really quick and easy, but holy sh*t those boss fights are fun.

I am not sure if those mechanics have been used in other raids (haven't done a single cata raid yet) but I have to say those mechanics, were interesting and pretty fun.

It really confirms for me that Blizzard still has it.

Now, I did F up big time and chose the gun on my hunter as the quest reward with out looking at the stats, hell i even dropped a woodchucker on it before i realized it was a tanking gun...

I don't overwrite my healing spell with healbot. It might be your mouseover macro.

Yeah, that possibility occurred to me while I was writing the post. I'll have to check it when I get home. I may have put /stopcasting at the top of all of my macros.

Arise, thread ... !

If anyone's interested in running old raid content (Vanilla, BC and Wrath), please let me know. I'm interested in achievement whoring (Project 9K) and not at all in transmogging any drops.

I'm usually around weeknights from 6-8 p.m. server and weekends from 7 a.m. server for several hours.

I'm about done with the BC rep grind and will be moving on to Wrath content.

Relatedly: If anyone needs a lowbie toon dragged through an instance, I'm your dwarf.

I could go for some of that. I have lots of rep to grind, too, from all areas...

I too have this as a semi-casual goal. I chip away at it when the mood strikes me. Any time you want help whoring for achievements, I'm your Huckleberry.

Project 9K update: Picked up The Seeker title over the weekend.

To get that title, I had to get Cata loremaster, get most of the way toward BC loremaster (Netherstorm and SMV are still unfinished), finish about half of the Eastern Kingdoms loremaster and do about half of the Wrath quests.

It's not for the faint of heart or soft of bottom.

One thing that seems easier these days: I haven't yet run into an issue where I'm a quest or two short in a zone and can't find that last quest hub/random drop/far-flung NPC. The Cata zones and revamped Azeroth zones all seem to have 2-3 extra quests built into them.

Will do.

In the meantime, you might want to pick up a Horde killin' suit if you don't have one. There's a lot of low-hanging fruit in PvP.

Perhaps for the first time ever I regret not joining a guild raid ...

!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. Yeah, you should have come along =)

Guild achievement update: I finally got Lil' I to 85, which gave GWJ-A the Classy Gnomes achievement. (It's also my second 85, fwiw.) DK tanking is actually a lot of fun, and I don't suck at it. Of course, I'm doing regular instances, and they're pretty darn easy, even when all the DPSers are at or below my DPS.

The only two things standing between the guild and an eighth bank slot are a max-level dwarf rogue and dwarf warlock.

I got Dwarflock sitting at level 3, so I'm almost there!

Some serious work...my lock is about 33...guess i should start playing again..

For the record, AQ 20 is solo-able. I never saw the place during Vanilla, so I was glad to have a chance to check it out.

I always wondered why it took so many people to run it. Turns out you need 20 people to carry all the crap that drops in there.

AQ 40, meanwhile, is a much tougher nut. I took down the first boss OK, but the trash packs that come after (the ones that throw you waaaaaaay up in the air; fall damage FTL) were a bit much.

AQ20 (the ruins, not the temple) is a very excellent source of Cenarion Circle rep if you're going for the Guardian of Cenarius title. It sure beats the heck out of killing those cultists. I also picked up three of the bug mounts, which puts the 100-mount achievement just within reach.

you can get 4 diff color mounts in aq40. You can also get CC rep by killing bosses in AQ40. If you're doing the rep grind, I would suggest doing the aq40 route for both the CC rep and the AQ40 rep(i've forgotten its name). There are quests that can be completed after the first boss in AQ40 for gear and rep tier 2.5).

Brood of Nozdromu or whatever the guys name is, is the rep. It is a shame you can't get the twilight texts anymore for the CC rep. I did that before they changed it back in WoLK.
