I'll show you a picture of myself if you show one of yours. Deal?

Fedora, your dad looks vaguely like Don Knotts.

Wait, that explains the whole L4D-boogle situation:

"You've got to nip it in the bud!"

Boogle's bud was certainly nipped.

According to the thread his bud hasn't been nipped in quite a while, other than some self-pruning.

Best barn ever!!

OMG I had that barn!!

Me too! MoooOOOOOooo

I loved that damn barn. And the fences that wouldn't stand up.

Hehe, me too. It might still be in my folks basement.

I never had a barn. Am I missing out? or am I a bit too young?

Me too! And while the original had disappeared, my parents bought another one on ebay when my kids were that age, so they could play with it when they went over to Grammy & Papa's house.

That farm was a fine product of the early 1970s.

Which means it predates Donut by roughly two decades.

Spoiler:

I feel old.

I hear you there. I was having a conversation with a young lady yesterday about her high school photography professor, the same gentleman who taught me in high school. It dawned on me half way through the conversation that while I was sitting in his classroom, she was... non-existent.

I remember that barn. That was PlayMobil right?

Might as well take part in this so that DanyBoy can recognize me at work.

Me at home today with my sick daughters.

I can see that the older daughter has already perfected the "donut picture pout". No doubt she'll be a hit with the young men when she's older!

As a father with a young daughter, let me inform you - that was unnecessarily cruel. CRUEL!

Fisher Price, I think.

I had one. My wife had one. My kids still have my wife's barn, the crappy fences and the horses and cows with the funky rotating legs. I think it's still in our playroom somewhere.

Haha, it was meant as a sarcastic poke at what young girls do these days but i guess it could be taken seriously...

*Duoae takes out his pink mobile phone with the million plastic thingies hanging off it by glittered ropes and stickers pasted all across it*

We had that barn too. Silo, horse, fences, all that good stuff. I'm pretty sure the stuff that didn't go to my nephew was tossed out though.

Lil'Bean, at 8 years old, already has boys showing up at the house on their quads and taking her for rides around the block or hanging out while watching TV. I didn't think it would start so soon.

School picture this year.

As for that barn, I did a quick Google on it. When did 1990 become 'vintage'? I guess that makes me 'ancient'. I don't remember that toy when I was a kid in the 60's.

I have already started investigating convents and/or deep-woods homes and an investment in large dogs or bunny rabbits with gnashing teeth.

Edit to add - The thread asking marsman about swords is also giving me ideas on boyfriend-deterrent. I may need it sooner rather than later. At 5-years old, she already has an "amoureux" (boyfriend is the closest english translation) who makes her drawings.

How long do you have to be posting for before you can rip on other board members? E.g., can I insinuate that *Legion* should post scans of his drawings, and that I didn't know he rode a quad?

Old toys!

I've taught both of my girls (5 and 8) to shoot, and they're both up to green belts in Taekwondo. By the time serious dating sets in they'll be second degree black belts. If all other methods of boyfriend deterrent fail, I finished my basement very nicely, with a bathroom kitchenette and spare bedroom - and a door that locks from the upstairs. I'm thinking 11 or 12 is about the right age to lock them down there

You're tagged, you can post whatever you want.

You not only can, you should.

I love that shot! Very cool.

Multiple kids or multiple exposures?

I had a bunch of that era of medieval legos. My brother had the Black Monarch's castle. That was a very cool lego castle. Oh the memories.
