I'm definitely up for either cooking something or bringing some kind of food.
I'm in. Sunday would be better for me, but I could make it Saturday if I show up late.
UPDATE:
Date/Time: Oct 15th, say 11am to 2am-ish. People can come earlier than 11am, if they wish to have brunch together. Jonman offered his place if we wanted to continue festivities on Oct 16th
Directions: Will be sent out next Monday the 10th via forum PM to people who confirmed they are coming.
People who offered table/chairs to bring:
A PM will be sent for the following
- Ameobic, if you wish to bring 2 to 4 chairs, go ahead and bring them.
- Dominic Knight, you can bring a couple of camping chairs.
- Jonman, you can bring the camping chairs too, even if you come later in the day.
- Docbawrench, bring the portable card table.
- Edwin & clover, what ever you wish to contribute.
I've reserved with AA Rental for 2 tables and chairs. There are some chairs I can borrow from our neighbors too, if I want.
Food/Cooking/Drinks:
Count on it being BYO (bring your own) to share potluck style. We (My brother, girlfriend and I) will have some to contribute but not enough for everyone. Again, many places to get stuff that's a short drive away.
- Momgamer, you are welcome to be chef of the day.
Campy Movie Hour(s): (Optional)
I was thinking of some class B movie to heckle, like Ice Pirates or Battle Beyond the Stars.
GWJ podcast: (if live)
Broadcast will be viewable on big TV for everyone and will have a webcam with mic on standby.
Okay, I'm thinking a batch of my infamous beef stew, and a vegetarian option. Does anyone have any dietary no-noes I should work around?
Aww now I'm sad. I looks like I won't be able to make it this year. Three trips abroad is a little too much for one month. I was hoping you see you guys again before next PAX but I can't make it work.

I'm one of those sickly wheat-free people, so I'll steer round the breads. Also would love to know if your stew has roux as a secret ingredient.
My stew can use several different thickening methods. My recipes are infamously imprecise, too.
Knowing that, I can use one of the other ones. How does corn starch or rice flour sit with you?

Indeed, recipes are meant to be suggestions
A-ok on both counts.
Hey folks.
What's the deal with Sunday? My house is still available, but if there's no interest in going into Sunday too, I'd like to make alternative plans for that day. Edwin's survey suggested that most folk were only interested in a one-day event.
Just a heads up, I might be plus one. A coworker is interested in joining me in some gaming with all of you wonderful people.
How many attendees would you like to see to make it worth your while to host Jonman?
Including me, I think the following people may be ok for celebrating on Sunday:
tuffalobuffalo (Portland member)
Fuzzmaster
Edwin
clover
So, there's a good possibility that I could host for Sunday if it turns out that people want to and if you prefer Jonman to plan something else.
I've already been in talks with 4 of my friends and family members about attending Saturday, expressing that Sunday might be a possibility as well.

That would be plenty. Enough to get at least one game going
I was just trying to cover for the possibility that no-one wanted to go into Sunday, in which case I'd have made alternative plans.
I might be able to make Sunday as well - I won't know until next Thursday or so. If I can swing it, do you mind if I crash? I'll bring a homemade wild blackberry pie to sweeten the deal.

You clearly understand the unwritten rules of Casa Del Jonman.
I sadly don't think I'll be able to make it this year. I can't get the day off work like I thought I could and just to make it worse Harry Potter: Won't It End Yet Part 2 made it into our theater section, which means its going to be a crazy month from now on. (Not to mention we also have Cowboys and Aliens playing) And going up after work would mean a long drive with traffic and an early-to-get-home to work the next day. I hate sitting these things out, but hopefully I'll be in a better place (and job) next year.
Can't make it to Chez Jonman Sunday (dammit!) - have to head back up to BC kind of early. Hubby, My sister's, their spouses, and I are all planning to have dinner together at the AFK tavern before continuing on northwards.
Vancouverites who can't make it to Seattle for GWJER Day may be in luck.
Check here for details.
I just filled out the form. I'm planning on attending, but I can't get there until after 9pm due to National Heroscape Day festivities at the Card Kingdom. Yes, it will be a day of extreme geekiness. I'm interested in the Sunday get together as well.
UPDATE:
I sent a PM with address, parking and contact info to the following attendees:
Edwin
clover
tuffalobuffalo
Amoebic
Janci
gregrampage
TrashiDawa
Dominic Knight
jdzappa
docbadwrench
momgamer
itsatrap
Jonman
Fuzzmaster
niltrope
MisterStatic
If I've missed anyone, let me know.
Looks like I'm only going to be able to go to either Saturday or Sunday. One day of solo childcare is all I can subject the wife to while I go off and have fun. Unless you want a couple hyper rugrats busting up your place, Jonman?
Hey gang, looks like me and the wife will be heading up to Seattle on Saturday. She'll be visiting some other friends as well but I'd be just hangin' with you folks. We'll get our plans nailed down soon so I can change my "Maybe" to "Attending" on Facebook.
Put me down for a maybe (but probably not) for Sunday. It's not that likely but I'd rather give you the heads up, just in case.
Mrs Jonman is most likely coming with on Saturday, although we won't be arriving until 6ish. I may have a non-Goodjer friend interested too - would that be acceptable?
Shouldn't be a problem having Seth over.

So, for Sunday peeps at Cheateaux Au Homme d'Jon, I've got:
Me + Mrs Jonman (and maybe the aforementioned Seth)
Edwin + clover
Tekman
tuffalobuffalo
Niltrope
Fuzzmaster (maybe)
momgamer (maybe)
gregrampage (maybe)
I'll send out a PM with my address - most of you have been here once or twice anyway. Anyone else want in, let me know.
Fuzz - hyper rugrats are not my favorite idea for a chill game-day. Unless they have useful skills, of course - how are they at mixing martinis and making canapes?
I've been lurking on the thread, really hoping I'd be able to join, but unfortunately I'm not going to be able to leave Portland this weekend. I was wrestling with my schedule, and the schedule won.
Only Saturday for me, and probably not until the afternoon as I have child care issues as well. The first words out of my 4 year old daughter's mouth when I told her I was going to play games: "Are you going to play Mario Galaxy without me?!?" We're playing through it for the third time
Looking forward to (finally!) meeting everyone!
Wow, Tek, you live a few blocks away from my sister's place! Excellent. That really works out splendidly as far as planning for the weekend goes. I intend to stop by during the day, will let you know as soon as I get in touch with my siblings and I'll be able to narrow down an arrival time for the husband and I.
I'll be there with a coworker in the afternoon, on Saturday. We'll bring some food, and he wants to bring Dokapon Kingdom for the Wii. Definitely all of the card games will make it to with me to the party.
@Tekman - Is there anywhere specific you want us to park once the 6 spots are full?
If we do run out of guest parking, people can park outside of the gated community along 170th Pl SW
FYI: I'm sending attendees a PM with additional contact info.
I've got a serious problem. I was driving to work today and my clutch stopped working correctly. It basically won't fully engage. I can get the car up to 35 mph or so, but that's not going to get me to Seattle. If it wasn't the day before, I would have planned out taking the train or getting a rental car, but since it's the day before and I'm super busy today, I think I'm going to have to bail. Grrrr
Edit: I'm sad I can't come. Another reason I'm staying in Portland is it's my mom's birthday today, and I'd like to make her birthday party tomorrow. I suppose that probably should have come first anyways. At any rate, I hope you all have fun! I'll be online during the afternoon watching the ustream and whatnot.
