NFL 2011 Week 2

I just flipped on the NFL Network, and they had a fiftysomething bald white guy giving a report on the Vikings from their facility in Eden Prairie, MN. The bald white guy's name?

Randy Moss.

I will file that in my "odd reporter assignments" file.

Retirement really did a number on him I guess.

Holy cow, so Romo goes back in with 2 broken ribs. That takes a pair of balls.

I wonder where he got them from?

As a new Texan, I haven't been fully briefed on the "ripping on Romo" state citizenship requirements. Is it required to rip on Romo even if you're not particularly invested in the Cowboys? What about if you really only care about the AFC, still then?

Stuff about Romo and the Cowboys

See what you did *Legion*? And here I was just trying to make a dick joke.

Oh wow horrible pass interference call on the Rams. Totally ignored the blatant push off. God this new NFL is depressing

Oh wait I forgot its a Manning throwing the ball

Pieface sighting!!

FTFY.

I freely admit to perhaps being biased (I grew up in North Texas and was a Cowboys fan from the early 70s until the Devil fired Tom Landry), but are they more obnoxious than other NFC East teams? I live in Redskins land now, and the fans here are pretty obnoxious, even though they have even less reason to be so than Cowboys fans.

Not trolling, just curious.

I think it is no matter how bad a year they may have, a Cowboy fan will always fall back on the success they had in the 90s. It doesn't matter they have barely won in the post season since, etc. Their team is better then yours RIGHT NOW because they had a dynasty 15+ years ago.

So you know those broken ribs that Romo suffered in the game. Turns out they weren't just broken.

He also had a punctured lung.

Holy. Freaking. Cow.

Holy crud. Romo is a beast.

His legend grows.... I cant wait for his next playoff implosion where Cowboys fans are gutted that they let him suck them in again.

Is it just me or does Spagnolo look like Little Finger?

You know, regardless of how you might feel about Michael Vick, the sight of him puking up blood on the sidelines was a little disturbing.

Not really. Choking defenseless animals, electrocuting them, forced breeding and reveling in butchery that disturbs me. 2 yrs in prison doesn't fix complete and utter evil. His behavior was borderline psychopathic, prison doesn't fix that. As far as I am concerned he has yet to pay for his actions. His isn't a story of redemption it is an indictment on society's loss of morality.

Ever eaten a hot dog? A burger? A chicken breast?

Let's maybe keep it locked on football, folks.

*EDIT*
Retracting statement.

I find the most erotic part of a woman is the boobie.

As Certis said, football. But in answer to your questions yes, but not for savage gratuitous and psychopathic gratification. Now, how about them Colts, err never mind.

how bout them Buffalo Bills?

shamelessly stolen from FOA but is common knowledge.

OUT FOR SEASON
KC RB Jamaal Charles
GB FS Nick Collins
CAR LB Thomas Davis
CIN WR Jordan Shipley
OUT FOR A FEW WEEKS
DAL WR Miles Austin
CHI RT Gabe Carimi
NE TE Aaron Hernandez
NYJ C Nick Mangold
DEN WR Eddie Royal

apparently Collins is already walking around with a neck brace. Not to imply hes going to make a comeback but January is a long time away so who knows.

Add Vick and Romo to that list, especially the nature of their injuries and what a train wreck of a week.

and just realized I forgot to put my picks in here... Was a high % week. In a pool I'm in the average was 11.48 games.. I went 14/16 with Baltimore costing me many many peanuts.

Apparently Denver is so weak in WR right now Tebow was out there for some plays as a WR.

Jamal Charles slipping on that 1st down marker sucks. I mean KC is bad enough already...Go Thomas Jones hope he doesn't break a hip while he is out there playing with the kids.

They look really sharp. The game against NE will be a great measuring stick of real deal or bargain basement.

Maybe he'll finally earn his place in the NFL as a TE.

Demaryius Thomas will be back eventually, but probably not for a few weeks. And then he'll get injured again anyway, so ...

NE looks crazy scary right now, what Brady did to Miami, I'm still in amazement. I don't think the Bills can stack up, but what they did last week to go 5 for 5 possessions to touchdowns is really impressive.

Demaryius Thomas has been out all season so far, Brandon Lloyd was inactive last week, and then Eddie Royal got hurt during the game.

Yeah, it was rough. I was watching when Tebow went out there for his first play at WR. That was humorous. Maybe Tebow can be the new Matt Jones, without the blow.

Weighing in late on the Cowboys/Romo thing: Everyone in Houston hates the Cowboys, except for Cowboys fans. Same with San Antonio. There's a general Houston/Dallas rivalry that helps feed that.

Couldn't really give a **** about Romo, except that I love the idea of the Cowboys having a bad quarterback. Impressive the way he gutted out that severe injury.

Go Texans! Leading the league on defense is a bit of change.

Randy Moss.

I've seen him before and thought it was weird, but felt it was ok because he was covering horse races (e.g. the Derby). Having him cover football is completely inappropriate. He needs to change his name to Randy Notmoss or something.

Is AJ Green known for being slippery? I'm watching last week's game (mostly to get a look at Dalton), but every time Green touches the ball he's wiggling, spinning, etc. Is that something he was known for in college?

So, I'm quite impressed with Dalton. He's very calm in the pocket and is usually on target with his throws. I say usually because he seems to be less than a half second or so off on most of his throws. No big deal as the throws are usually caught, but slightly off target. This results in less YAC. I'm not sure if this is due to a lack of arm strength or his inexperience or a combination of both. Overall he looks really, really good.

Ed Hockuli, however, sucks. He's making mistakes all over the place on his calls. Not necessarily on the calls themselves, they've been legit for the most part, but he keeps getting things mixed up, even calling Denver "Chicago" at one point. Wtf?

With Romo and Ryan hurt, S. Jackson still hurting, and Cedric Benson going to be out soon due to being an idiot, I can effectively say that my once championship-caliber team is screwed this year. Ah well, at least last year I was unstoppable.
