NFL 2011 Week 2

Just saw the boxscore for the Miami game. Reggie Bush rushes 6 times for 18 yards...

So nice to see him wearing a different uniform...

Okay, this is apparantly crazy season. Here is proof:

Buffalo is 2-0 and their offense is putting up crazy numbers.
Detroit is 2-0 and looking like one hell of a good team!
Indianapolis is 0-2 and proof that one man does indeed make a team.

Stop the madness!!!

Does anybody else notice a weird recurring sound in the background of the NBC audio during football games? I've noticed it during all three games that they've aired this year. I can't really describe it but, I guess, it's kind of like an annoying cellphone ring. It's very regular as I can usually predict when it will happen.

When did the eagles get a 13 year old 120 pound kicker?

They didn't have enough cap space to sign anyone else.

Lol nice.

I was at the Denver game. Man, I have very little confidence in my Broncos this year.

I was surprised last week when so many of my friends were really hyped on the Broncos. I'm sorry, but McDaniels screwed the roster up and the defense he inherited was poor to begin with. The best thing the Broncos have had in the past three years was Mike Nolan. Otherwise it's been a completely mismanaged team and will take another draft to get them back to form.

Gotta say that Von Miller looks legit. I was afraid he was going to be a bust (for no particular reason, I just feared that).

Just finished watching the Bengals game. Fans should feel hopeful because Dalton has looked a lot better the last two games than he did in the preseason. But even with Denver handing them multiple chances via dumb penalties the Bengals still managed to lose after pulling within 2 in the closing minutes. And AJ Green is just an awesome receiver, looks like a young T.O..

That's optimistic. I'm thinking it takes at least two more drafts, and even then they're going to have to get a few years of hard knocks under their belt. They've got a lot of old folks with bad groins on their team right now.

Yay Falcons!

Flags, turnovers, cheap shots, big plays, and a man named Kafka having to transform himself into a starting QB. I had fun.

Ugh that sucked...not being able to cover a 40 year old TE ruins my Sunday

Cant say it hurts my feelings to see the "Dream Team" and Mr. Humane Society lose. Perhaps the concussion is the start of some karmic payback.

After two weeks of the NFL season, your passing yardage leaders are:

1. Tom Brady
2. Cam Newton
3. Philip Rivers
4. Drew Brees
5. Tony Romo

There's one name that's absolutely stunning.

Spoiler:

Romo. Duh. EVERYONE KNEW CAM WAS GOING TO BE AWESOME.

I'm going to suggest that going to jail and having your life torn apart is enough karmic payback. He went to prison, he left prison, his debt is paid.

Agreed. He's more than learned his lesson... I think folks need to stop coming down on him for that.

Not to P&C-ify an NFL thread, but I think it was Charles Barkley who went on a rant about how, no matter how long you're in prison, it's a life sentence in many ways; people never look at you the same and never forgive. Vick did his time, and people should be celebrating this for the redemption story it is. He was a stupid kid who did something dumb, and he really appears to have turned his life around. I never would have believed he would be able to play in the NFL again considering the style of play he had when he was younger, but he's older, far more mature, and he's actually trying to play QB instead of "freakish athlete who the ball is hiked to" like he did when he was younger.

He screwed up, he made amends, the world needs to let it go.

Vick may legally have paid the price for his abhorrent behavior and be allowed to continue in and possibly thrive in society but i certainly doesnt mean I ever have to root for him. I will root for him to fail forever in memory of the poor puppy's he killed with his own two hands. Thats my own choice, believe me I have rooted against people for far less.

Oh, poor baby. He had to spent, what, 2 whole years not making millions of dollars and people might now have the audacity to give him dirty looks. It's too bad I'm not a Christian because then at least I could know he'd burn in hell.

I was surprised so many Falcons fans seemed to be cheering for him. They're lucky that his stupidity didn't seriously damaged the franchise.

Yes, emphatically yes. Everyone at my place was groaning at the back handed compliments and strait insults to Chicago.

You know, regardless of how you might feel about Michael Vick, the sight of him puking up blood on the sidelines was a little disturbing.

Agreed. I think anyone taking pleasure in that is pretty disturbed.

Oh. Well I don't feel as bad now for thinking that Aikman is horrible at his job, and makes watching games worse.

I got no problem with people rooting against Vick and wanting to see him physically hurt or whatever. I can respect peoples feelings (especially when it comes to pets) as a dog lover myself. I love my dog like he was people and I know many Americans feel the same way. While I find what Vick did horribly cruel and unimaginable.. I can't put it higher up than what so many more people in this world do towards their fellow human beings. All these acts are awful and deserve punishment in some shape or form but we tend to gloss over actions against our fellow man.

The list of NFL players that have done some pretty awful things is pretty long.. so I tend to avoid making sweeping judgement calls on who and who I shouldnt "root" for or against... because chances are with enough digging hypocrisy will come to light.

I just find it easier to actively root against anyone playing the Eagles and wishing them some sort of temporary harm.

From what I heard and read, the puking was from the concussion, but the blood was from a bit tongue/lip.

Not me, I would rather see my team beat their opponents at full strength, I'm disappointed that Vick might not play against my Giants next week. In my eyes, it taints the victory, should the Giants win. Since they are in bad shape themselves, that might not happen. Regardless, should still be a tight matchup next Sunday. If Vick plays, I'm taking the Eagles. If Kafka starts, I'm not sure who I would take. Might be a good game to pick next week. I think the Eagles should pull it out because of their offensive weapons, regardless of QB.
