RWC 2011

Cooper was bloody awful. Slipper also seemed to be doing a fine impression of a useless fat c***

Having said that, the Kiwis did a pretty good job on us and deserved the win. Thankfully my Dad (a Kiwi) called All Blacks by 20+ so he only gloated for 2 days.

Now really looking forward to watching them slaughter Les Bleus.

Just watched a replay of the game today, can't believe how badly Weepu was kicking. He's lucky the Aussies were so awful. Those misses should have been punished.

While it sticks in my throat to admit it the cheating buggers deserve to get to the final and to win it.

Dammit, I can't believe I've missed this thread till now. I'm looking forward to the France vs NZ Final with anticipation, I think it's going to be a fun game to watch.

I've been pulling for Ireland and while they didn't make it as far in the end as I'd hoped and expected, watching them take down Australia with two of my Aussie buddies was one of the best RWC experiences I've had in a long time.

Don't forget the Bronze place play off tomorrow folks (8:30 UTC). Wales and Australia are basically playing a no pressure game. The front row union will have an agreement, the tackles won't be as physical and the referee will take a more liberal view. Given the style both teams try to play it could be a pretty free flowing competition.

Oh, and just to be clear about the final, all reason points towards NZ winning. I'm only hoping that the French arrive to play in the way only they can. If they do we could be due a great game. I'm not pushed who wins but I do want to see rugby at its best and not some victory lap.

8-7 to the ABs. Heartbreak for France who got closer than anyone expected.

Now hopefully NZ can stop manipulating the game to get their name on the cup again.

I'm happy for NZ. Given all that happened over the year I think it meant so much to them on an emotional level.

I'll park my comments with regard to match itself. I will say that in future people should learn that the best way to rile up a rugby team is write them off. And a riled up French are capable of anything.

We could have never hoped to be quite as ethical about this world cup as other host's. Especially the hosts of the 1995 world cup, not a doubt in anybodys minds that that win was above board ಠ_ಠ.

Has to be done :)

Yeah, I have my suspicions about '95 myself, tbh. '07 was clean though.

Didn't get to watch much of the first half, but France were great in the second. They dominated every phase of play.

That disallowed try apart, obv. By an Aussie touch judge, who naturally bore no grudge from 03

A foot on the line is a foot on the line.
