Android Games Catch-All

10000000 is out. Why are you still staring at this thread instead of pulling the trigger at the Google Play store? :D

Everytime anyone mentions this game, the music immediately begins playing in my head.

Yes! I love the music in the main/starting area. I've found myself humming that several times. It always makes me want to drive faster when I hum it, so I.. err, try not to think about it in the car ^.^

It's also notable in the fact that it has a goal; I generally dislike Endless Runners, but this one has a goal and an ending (however brief) that satisfied my need to have a completion condition. There were talks of an additional patch with new content, but I'm not sure if that's still happening.

10000000 is awesome, thanks for the heads up!

In other news, I ran across this port of Jagged Alliance 2 to Android today. It took me longer to find my disk than to install it and play it on my Nexus 10. A quick run proved it was working, and the touchscreen integration is great.

Interesting... I may have to get the game now that I have an android phone again.

Anyone check out Shoot Many Robots yet? It's free on Android; heading to iOS as well.

Polygon did a write-up about it.

The 2D "endless gunner" shooter, Shoot Many Robots, is available to download for free from the Google Play Store with an iOS release coming soon, Demiurge Studios announced today. The release is the first step in the studio's mobile publishing initiative.
...
The Shoot Many Robots mobile version was developed in collaboration with Owlchemy Labs, the Boston-based studio that created Snuggle Truck and Jack Lumber. A new mechanic introduced into the game is the product of their partnership.

Played it on Steam, and it was fun, especially in coop. Didn't know there was a mobile version.

I picked up 10000000 the other day. I already have it on steam and got stuck on there at 9,257,170 (as my backloggery will attest) but I really, REALLY, like it on android. I think the row sliding works much better on the touch interface and the length of runs makes it a easy to pick up and play for a few minutes.

Amazon having a "best of" of Free Apps today:

Ooooooh. Nice. Thanks!

Oooooohhh baby, me want badly.

I got 10,000,000 on Steam, which supports Linux. Except it starts up half a screen to the right, with a big black and pink bar on the left side. I did originally start it on a dual-monitor, but it still does it even with a single monitor. *sigh*

Anybody else playing and enjoying Solar 2 from the last Humble Indie bundle? Or, more accurately, playing, enjoying, yet wondering what the hell I'm supposed to be doing?

Yes... but somehow it's still fun

Wonder how that compares to the upcoming Xcom port to iOS. Also a squad based tactical game.

You're supposed to grow. That's about it.

My son and I played a bunch on the PC, and we picked up the bundle just for Solar 2. You can play it two ways: continue growing until you destroy the universe, or do the same thing while also trying to complete quests. I'd say that 90% of our play was the former.

Oh. Wow.
I'm in.

Another new Humble Bundle for Android, and a lot of these are new ones:

The Humble Mobile Bundle features six wild games for Android. Pay what you want and you’ll receive the top-down reverse tower defense game Anomaly Korea; the charming physics puzzler Contre Jour; the quirky tower defense action game Plants vs. Zombies; and third person action brawler Bladeslinger. If you pay more than the average, you’ll also get the side-scrolling shooter Metal Slug 3 and the mysterious and intriguing puzzler The Room, available for the first time ever on Android!

Note: These are only available for Android, so no Linux/Windows Steam keys (so far as I can tell...).

I buy the Humble Bundles on principle, as I love the idea of it and there's always something good in there. That being said, the idea of Plants vs. Zombies being in this bundle is pretty amusing. That's a game that I would think anybody who would buy a bundle probably owns, as it's kind of everywhere.

I didn't have it Android yet, so na na na na na na!

Yay! 8th time buying PvZ! I really did want The Room, though. Between it, Super Hexagon and 10,000,000, I think I'm covered for Android games for a while.

As far as I know this is actually the premiere of "The Room" on Android so I'm in, no question. I don't mind having a DRM-free version of PVZ lying around either, it's about the only reason I install the Amazon app store at this point.

They were giving away the Moga Android controller @ PAX East, and while I didn't get one, I did get a flyer with a 25% off and free shipping code: use promo code MOGAzombie on MOGAanywhere.com. It says it's good until 4/4/13.

Played the new Kariosoft game ninja village. I like the whole conquer japan thing going on it and overall enjoying myself. I think Pocket stables is still my favorite though.

I may check the ninja one out, but given that Grand Prix story is my favorite I'll definitely give Stable Story a try.

Doesn't appear to be a lite version of Ninja Village?

I usually like to try before I buy, but most of the other Kairosoft stuff has been fun.

Was the Android version of PvZ the one that was gimped? I can't remember if it was the iOS version or the Android version that got screwed over; missing features (zen garden?), etc. Did it ever get patched, or is one of those versions still kind of a turd compared to the others?

The Android version looks gimped to me. It looks like a quick port.

No idea if it's any good, but there's a side-scrolling Magicka game out now

It's weird that it is incompatible with both my phone and tablet, I too wonder how good it is...
