Android Games Catch-All

Got that bundle, No question. When I played Dungeon Defenders on my PS3, I thought it would make a nice mobile game.

Definitely down with that Humble Android bundle. I had no idea there was a Linux version of Super Hexagon! :)

Sooooo friggin' hard!!

I'm having a lot of fun with The Simpson's: Tapped Out. It's got the terrible free to play tropes, pay now or wait 4 hours, but it works. It's a game where I only want to play for minutes at a time, so I'm never too frustrated with it. Try it out, give it a week.

Installed The Simpson's: Tapped Out at the start of this week and uninstalled it yesterday. With Homer yelling out quips every time I was done a project, it was just a matter of time before he interrupted an important conference with a client. Setting the phone to vibrate or mute solves the problem... but creates the potential to miss calls.
Does anyone know of a way to just turn off the notifications for this game?

Can't you lower the media volume separate from ringer and notification volume? If I recall correctly, the setting is buried in the audio or sound settings.
With something like Llama or other if-this-then-do-that apps you should be able to just have the game on silence.

For android 4 use the volume control then tap the cog to the right of the volume slider to bring up the independent volume controls

On the Android Humble Bundles, do they just give you an .apk for the games, or is it supported in the Play store somehow?

I'm wondering about keeping them up to date.

They have their own Humble Bundle app that will download/install/update your purchases. I picked up this bundle today and discovered the app, but while I can see my previously purchased bundleS (SpaceChem, Uplink, etc), I see none of the latest. After trying various things (log out, log in, uninstall, reset, pray to the gods, etc), I gave up and sent them an email. The app is in beta, but it seems to work fine for previous purchases.

May be a stupid question, but did you "claim" the bundle on your account? If you aren't logged in with your Humble Bundle account at the time of purchase, the keys aren't associated with that account until you go back and "claim" them.

Why am I so addicted to Kairosoft games? They're not exactly the greatest innovations in gaming. But damn if I'm not sucked in whenever they release a new one, which is like once every two weeks now. Did you know the newest one is about race horses? I WILL BREED THE ULTIMATE HORSEY!

The app has worked well for me, as well as detecting what kind of device I'm using. So, for example, Osmos HD won't install on a 7" tablet because it's designed for sizes larger than that, so you're relegated to the phone version of the game. The Humble Bundle app syncs up pretty quickly and is all tied to a single account, so it works pretty nicely!

Unless it changed recently, you can install "unsupported" games via the app. It just dissuades you from doing so with some nagging.

Pixel Kingdom is a free game that just released and it is fun! The game play reminds me of Plants vs Zombies, not the same but very similar concepts.

The Sandbox is essentially the superior version of Alchemy and is also completely free but does have some facebook-esque drawbacks such as limited in game money (or mana) that can be purchased with real money as well as notifications. Otherwise the game is fun and satisfying completing the campaign mode and then just screwing around in the freebuild mode. Too is it vaguely like Minecraft, but in 2-D, and only creation mode.

Another good facebook-esque free-to-play app I've found is Strikefleet Omega. It is a nifty space battle stategy game that quickly becomes difficult but still fun to play. It includes the pay-to-succeed gameplay style that with enough play can just be ignored. If that is a turn off, at least give it a shot, I've made it fairly far without purchasing anything yet though I will start having to replay some levels for a much needed cash increase. Best played on a tablet.

If you aren't color blind and have three quarters, two dimes, and four pennies to spare, I recommend Color Sheep. I've already tried describing this to a friend and failed, falling prey to strange looks, I give YOU the Youtube-style description. Very addictive, plays in waves, lots-o-fun!

I'll have to get in on that Humble Bundle come payday.

Amazon's free app today is Pocket League Story from Kairosoft. If you're into their games.

Shoot. Didn't check the thread yesterday. Missed out.

Amazon's giving away Osmos HD today. I presume everybody has played it. If not, why have you not played it? Great game.

10000000 is out. Why are you still staring at this thread instead of pulling the trigger at the Google Play store?

I received a nice thank you e-mail from Luca for helping to beta test it, too. Go support Luca!

+1 for 10000000. Absolutely amazing game!

I helped as well and received this email. It is a fun game and should be supported. At a 1.99 it is well worth it!!!!

What IS 10000000 exactly? An RPG where puzzles are the combat?

More like a match 3 game with RPG scoring/progression bits bolted on. It's kind of neat but lacks depth but will certainly pleasantly divert your attention for the time it takes to complete.

Damn you for mentioning the game. And damn Google for giving me 30 Euro in Play Store credits!
I want my time back! D:

This thing is too addicting.

I'd really prefer a straight-up match three though. I don't care for the sliding-the-whole-row/column-to-match mechanic as much. When time is so critical, I find it takes too long to find a match and then slide it with the necessary accuracy to line them up. Could be that I just suck at this game too.

It's still a lot of fun though.

@Veloxi, I'd suggest hitting up youtube to see if you think you'd like the gameplay.

That would be 10000001, right?

All of you who suggested I should try 10000000 suck.

I'll be over here, being utterly unproductive if you need me. Actually, even if you need me, I don't care.

Super Stickman Golf 2 is out for free. I posted this in the iPhone thread as well ($.99 on IOS)

Nice. Played a ton of the first one.

Oohhh, I love golf games, thanks for the heads up!

Everytime anyone mentions this game, the music immediately begins playing in my head.
