Sniper Elite V2

I just had so much fun playing the demo. It only took about 10 minutes. The most fun was when I hit a guy on the hip where his explosives are and he combusted. That and the exploding heart shot. My only concern is how long is the game total?

On the hardest difficulty, it took me seven hours, although I didn't really play any of the challenges save for the "Kill Hitler" DLC, nor did I go after the Nazi gold/wine bottle collectibles.

Having just beat the game, I guess all I can say is that I thought it was kinda dumb, but not entirely offensive. The really good kill cam made up for a pretty scripted experience.

Has anyone played it coop yet? does that make it better? Because I played this at a friends and the single player wasn't very good in my opinion. It just felt so enclosed and boring, also no quick saves kind of sucks. And your character cant aim well with anything other then the sniper rifle. While your opponents sniper you with machine gun fire. Too bad really as I loved the first.

I feel like SEV2 suffers from the rare problem of being a better demo than game. I've been playing the demo over and over since it came out, but I've no inclination to actually get the game, after reading the reviews. I don't mind that the demo itself is linear, since it's still been a tonne of fun playing with all the tools, difficulty settings, and trying to blow up a German's grenade—which I still haven't managed yet.

Also, what's with so many reviews calling out the testicle-shooting? Is that a mark on the game, or on the reviewers, hmmm? It had honestly never occurred to me shoot anyone in the nuts.

I have managed to:
* Shoot a sniper square between the eyes and out his cerebellum
* Shoot a sniper (the same one, later) right in the teeth (that made me wince)

And am working on:
* Exploding a grenade, as mentioned
* Killing two Germans at once
* Pulling a Carlos Hathcock and get a sniper right through his scope: the closest has been parallel and close to his rifle and right into his face, with what appeared to be sausages (his fingers?) flying away as the bullet passed his rifle barrel

Also, for this game's marked adherence to gore, for whatever reason, it's odd that pooling blood decals are absent. Maybe that would impact body-hiding, which isn't necessary in the demo (but isn't that what water arrows are for?).

One of the skill shots with the sniper rifle in Bulletstorm was to shoot somebody in the balls. It was actually really hard because you had to steer the bullets and while you were doing that they enemy would run away eliminating easy access.

You can get the "shoot the sniper through the scope" achievement (or point modifier) against any enemy with a rifle, scoped or un-scoped, I believe. As long as it hits the eye he's using to aim, I think.

Shoot the slat in front of vehicles too. A fun Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade moment

Also, why only 2 Germans with one shot? Why not 3? (this happened to me by accident a couple of times, because sometimes the enemy spawns like clowns out of a tiny car).

Ultimately, I think the game suffers for being way too scripted; it's saving grace is the hilarious game mechanics.

The multiplayer has too few maps. It gets repetitious quickly, plus the spawn systems is a bit wonky. I had 19 straight kills one match defending a church. It spawned me inside there and i was able to cover all corners and keep an eye on where i spawned to kill anyone who stepped/spawned in.

After talking to a couple folks about how fun this was (not on my radar) and not costing all that much I went for it. The first mission/tutorial was allot of fun. Everyone here has pretty much covered all the pro/con aspects. Just seemed fun to me.

I would of swore that a modern day sniper game was due out(military). Anyone know if this is true? And if so, title and any views of how good it is?

Thanks! This might be it. Although it looks like a PC game, whereas I thought the trailer I saw from XBL was of course for the 360. But I'll need to go back and try and find it to verfiy.

Arise thread!

If anyone has xBox Live Gold on the 360, this is currently the Games with Gold freebie. I downloaded it last night and have been gleefully slo-mo blasting my way around.

This is a very fun game.

It is. I'm finding myself getting into up-close rumbles with my Thompson more than I'd like though. In the levels without loud sounds to mask sniper fire, is it just a case of sneaking around with the Welrod until you inevitably get caught and shoot your way out? Or should I just be hanging back and picking people off and not even trying to be stealthy?
