Steam Trading

Honestly, it can be found on Ebay for cheaper. I paid $7.50 for my copy via that method back right before thanksgiving. All the free copies from video cards made it really cheap. I'd hate for someone to think they were getting a deal at 50% off of $50, when it should be 85% off.

I got 6 coupons i am looking to get rid of.

I want to say I want a game from my wishlist. But the prices are not worth the discounts I am sure.

SO I guess ill take TF2 items in trade. Get in touch with me. And ill see if you have anything I would want for TF2.

I guess this thread turns into a generic DD game swap thread now that the steam christmas nonsense has died down.

Does anyone want to guess what they'll be doing with vouchers in the future? It really does seem to be a bit of a damp squib right now with so many just hanging around. The best I can see for them is if you get a X% off a publisher when you buy a game from that publisher, and that doesn't really do much for me. Perhaps vouchers of currency value you can give to people for their steam wallet?

I think they might just go away. Gift certificates would be nice but I'm thinking coupons will end up being a failure.

Yeah. That sounds more likely as if they really wanted to support this, they should have had stuff being added since the Holiday sale. As it stands now, it was nothing more than an event and now it's passed.

I have 75% off Risen and 50% off Nordic games coupons if anyone wants them. The Guild 2 is today's special so if you can apply the coupon you can get the collection for $2.50

I feel like they should have made the coupons something small like 2% off, or 5% off and let people use them on top of sales, but limit of one per game.

You want them to be less of a discount? They already stack with sales (it does vary by sale, but I haven't heard of them not stacking yet), and are already are limited to one per transaction. I used a 33% off Bethesda coupon on top of the daily sale price for Skyrim to get it for $26 instead. I think the biggest problem with the coupons was that they weren't immediately usable. We had to wait until after the holiday sale was over before we could use them, and by then we had already picked up what we wanted, probably for cheaper than the coupon + normal price would have been, too.

I have two Super MNC invites if anyone wants them.

I have these:

They expire Thursday, they are all free of course.

Oh, then these things are actually useful. Since we couldn't use them during the holiday sale, I had thought they can't stack, and thus just allowed you to get a sale price anytime. That's pretty good then.

DOH!

I got the collection full price but it's only 5$ . I once ordered "The Guild Universe" from eBay for like 35$ (the seller charged a lot for shipping ,tracking and insurance) but it never arrived ,so I got a refund after opening a dispute. In the past I had trouble getting certain games but today it's much easier with digital distribution.

I have a copy of Dragon Age:Origins going spare on GamersGate, although the keys should just transfer to EA/Origin.

I still have STALKER Clear Sky/Garshasp too.

I have a copy of Red Orchestra up for trade. I dunno what I want; make me an offer! *cue cheesy game show music*

I guess I have some steam games to gift.

(1) Lead and Gold
(1) Shattered Horizon
(0) Portal. GONE

Send me a PM message if you want any of these games.

I just noticed that Psychonauts is on sale now for 50% off - anyone care to buy me a copy and trade for Magicka?

I have a Jolly Rover Steam code up for grabs.

EDIT:

I now also have these extras from the Indie Gala Bundle

Hacker Evolution
Hacker Evolution: Duality
Hacker Evolution: Untold
Greed Corp
Zombie Shooter 1
Zombie Shooter 2
InMomentum
Your Doodles Are Bugged!

All of them are free, though if someone bought me a $2 indie game that I don't already own I wouldn't complain.

I just received a coupon for 50% off AssCreed Revelations out of the blue.

Message me if you want it. Expires April 1st.

Yeah, I just received two of those. Random.

I also got one.
Also goes to whoever.

I received three 50% off of Might & Magic Heroes VI coupons. Goes to anyone who is interested. Expires 4/1

What on earth made Valve think that coupon spam was a good idea?

It seems like an error to me. What's more interesting is why they didn't just make it a normal sale.

Even one coupon is spam -- it shows up in your inbox and demands attention, it's not just a quiet sale. They FORCE you to pay attention to it that way.

It's crappy marketroids at work again, demanding your attention by fooling you into thinking something is important.

I was going more for that they were trying to make it special by being able to make it exclusive, or limited quantities (heh), but you bring up an important point. I disable the marketing spam popups in steam options, but this circumvents that.

I got one for 66% off M&M: Clash of Heroes. I'm wondering if this is Valve trying to both have another avenue for sales as well as encourage use of the trade system.

Yeah, the demands of the coupon were brutal. I tried to get away with the two clicks and approximately 8 seconds it would take me to just look at the coupon and realize it was something I could ignore, but that just pissed the coupon off. The next thing I knew the coupon had me tied to the chair with tape holding my eyes open and jumper cables on my nipples while it FORCED me to pay more attention to it. I eventually managed to free myself, but not before the coupon had pulled out three fingernails on my mouse hand with pliers. It may be a few days before my hand heals enough to consider just clicking the "close" box on a coupon notification again.

My coupon also tied me to a chair. But then it cut off my ear, poured gasoline on me, then danced around to "Stuck In The Middle With You" by Stealers Wheel. I managed to reach the delete button in Gmail just in time, though. Tim Roth was not so lucky.

Funny, you guys are telling us you received coupons.. I received none! Hooray!

Do you want 3?
