SWTOR: alliance guild discussion

I'm not using the umpronounceable name anymore!! When you come to the realisation that even you can't explain to other how to actually read your character's name it's time to let it go!

But yes, I have awesome summoning powers over Psych. I can muster him singing Dancing Queen, as well as any other player who has been touched by The Schwartz! ;D

So what, if anything should we be doing for this? Has a decision been made or are we still discussing?

Still waiting... give it till the end of the week and then we'll ask everyone to join up on the Gray Coucil guild page.

Still waiting? I know we probably have plenty of time, but if we're going to make a switch I'd rather just get it done.

I thought I'd add that the Gray Council website is now up and running. It's a mirror of the Eldain site with different graphics, but for those that would rather use www.graycouncil.com instead of The Eldain site, feel free.

Wembley is up to something, I know it.

Keep your mouth shut and I'll cut you in.

Don't think of eldain/graycouncil as adding another forum to keep track of. Instead, use it as a back up for when GWJ goes down.

Sorry guys works been kicking me in the butt. 12-16hr days.

It seems we have a general consensus that the move is a good idea. My idea was to try and schedule a meeting (god i've been hanging around too many PMs lately) on Vent to try and get as many people together at one time. To meet each other and to voice concerns or just gush about the game or Female Doggo about something you dont like about it. We also need to decide what the award we're offering for every time someone kills Oily!

Then if we all survive and still want to go forward decide at that point on the official stance and start directing people as needed.

Personally the weekend is best for me, but i can make it through the week if its after 8pm est.

Well, Eldain folks are somewhat conditioned to be around on Friday nights, but I think most of us would be flexible as to time and date.

yay for a price on my head!

I can meet up on Ventrilo tomorrow at any time. Assuming my internet doesn't go down between now and then. I've got a cable guy out right now, so we'll see.

*skimmer*

All sounds good to me. I'll not be hardcoring it with the hardcore - due to timezone, family responsibilities, and general preference - but enjoy being in a decent sized guild. I'll probably be dragging in my erstwhile WoW group as well. I'll have them all make GWJ accounts.

I'm not entirely certain I'll be getting this game as I don't know anything about it, but I'm tagging in and trying to get access to that section on Eldain.

For tonights meeting lets meet on GWJs Vent (http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/2...) at 10:30 EST. I'll have a SWTOR channel set up tonight for this.

Let's try and pass the word around so we can get as many as possible.

Let's call this a Verbal Slap & Tickle

That's half past 3 in the morning for me so sending my apologies

I can help you with that. If you sign up on the forums with a name other than LiquidMantis let me know and I will give you access immediately.

Thanks! I already got access to the forums though.

I wasn't able to make it to the vent discussion tonight. Please let us know if there was something pertinent discussed. Also, could you let us know if it's time to jump ship on the original GWJ guild and join the grey council? (Yes, I"m the squeaky wheel, gimme oil damnit!).

So a group of us met last night and it was decided that we're going to go ahead with the merger.

So the plan right now is for everyone planning to go Republic to go to the following link and join up:

Join Here

I'll stay behind for as long as i can to monitor who's left and to guide them to the other guild. Then the fun will begin.

At the start it looks like we're going to have 5 officers. They'll consist of 3 gwjrs and 2 eldainrs. Just from a admin standpoint we have PST on over to GMT timezones covered. No specific rules as of yet beyond DBAD.

While we werent able to come to a final decision of the type of reward given for each time Oily dies we did decided that special consideration would be given if his death was by fire.

Wembley did i lube you up enough? ;)

I feel so slippery now. It's a good thing.

I went ahead and applied to the gray council. Thanks for the info, Ranalin.

Since I got my pre-order code from Amazon, decided to join in the Guild.

Time for a little update.

Currently the IMPPP's have 37 people in their guild while the Gray Council has 36.

While the roster number would be identical if not for ranalin holding down fort in the Goodger Consortium until closer to launch, the fact that it is so close is a disservice to the light side of the force and nerf herders everywhere.

And lest you succumb to the Dark Side's promise of mumble servers, be advised the Gray Council is currently beta testing our own mumble server of peace and justice.

Ooh this is hard. As much as I want to roll with the evil paper pushers because that's my real life class, I also don't want the good guys to get horribly outnumbered. I just remember how bad things were for Order when Warhammer launched, so I always have a soft spot in my heart for the underdog.

But it seems like the class I most want to play - Jedi Consular - is also the most popular in the guild.

Consulars look pretty awesome. But if you're looking for a healer with some flair, you might try a Scoundrel. If you're looking for a stealth DPSer though, you'd be hard-pressed to beat the Shadow.

Yes but the Jedi Consular is very versatile. The shadow and the sage advanced classes couldn't be more different.

The only other class that seems as versatile to me is the trooper. Trooper's have an advanced class (vanguard I believe) that sounds like a tank, without completely neutered dps and with (limited?) heal ability.

I tried to accept the app, but I couldn't figure out how. Is it something an officer can do or does it need to be the leader?

It needs to be the GM.

I'm sure that once launch happens, there'll be more options for setting ginvite/gkick powers among the officers.
