Tues/Wed/Sun Whenevs

Carganthem, Prot/Ret, any night except Saturday this week (which isn't a typical running night for us anyway).

Jeynsa mDPS Tues-Sun

zeroKFE - rDPS, liability
Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday: 7 - 10 PM I can do ONE of these nights the full time; I could potentially do a second, but I would probably have to leave around 9:30 PM or so.
Sunday: 7 - 10 PM

grinds- Tuesday,Thursday,Sunday 6-11pm

Rantin - I'm stealing Zero's availability for this week.

Oh and I have no family gatherings planned for this week so I might actually show up on time for something.

Finial/Forshay: W,Th, Su.

Usual crap. Tues->Thurs, Sunday 6+.

We were close with Al'akir, let's blow him up sometime this week. Would be nice to prep an instance (maybe recycle an old one) that would have everything but Nef killed in it so we can spend some time there without needing to waste a ton of time clearing.

I should have a lock-out that has just Nef remaining. Perhaps we'll do that Tuesday.

Nef and Al'akir in 1 nights.... DOOOO EEET. If I could just stay sober this time...

Youko rdps
Tue, Thurs, Sun, anytime.

TK - Tuesday through the rest of the week. I'll be around for all the good clean fun

Bump for Tues

I have a raid for Sunday, just waiting to see if anyone else posts before I put it up (Act, Shank).

In the event we have BH, it might be nice to kill Occu'thar. Otherwise I'm down for farming Cho again, or finally taking down Al, or whatever. But Doc Occ does give real, honest-to-goodness VPs, and we don't all have all our tier pieces yet so there's the rare chance he might actually drop something useful.

I've done the new boss in BH and it is pretty easy. Just some movement. Doesn't take that long, so I suggest doing that also.

Well, is spending some honest time with Nef not something we want to do? I foresee it taking no less than an hour, and possibly two. We've had all of maybe 15 attempts on him as it is, so there is still some intricacies of the fight we have not learned.

I just meant as far as the question marks go. Spending some time on Nef is a good deal, but we still have the rest of the night to deal with once we kill him (or quit out of sheer frustration). I don't see us fighting Nef for three hours, one way or the other.

I have near-infinite patience for such things, but I fully recognize that I'm probably very close to alone on that front.

Nef > Akir > BH sound like a plan?
Round out our holes in 4.1 that we never had enough raiders to complete and then get a bit of VP for the end of the night.

Did we decide that the spider is next on our Firelands list? What's the word on the street? I have not looked into anything too deeply yet. People that have, give me some pros and cons on Spider vs Steer-the-Giant dude given that we have a ranged-heavy group running Sunday.

I'd like to see the new boss before we tackle Akir again. That said, Al really is only a few attempts away.

Beth really isn't too complicated a fight, once you know what's going on, and is basically a gear check. It's just about handling stuff on the ground. You don't really need more than one DPS climbing to the top (along with the tank and healer). Damaging her more in P1 will help with P2, but the better you can control the ground, the longer P1 will be so you don't need as much DPS on her to get the same results. Better AoE as well as ways to slow groups of things (like frost traps) are a big plus.

Rhyolith's more involved because of the whole turning mechanic we have to learn. Beth isn't really anything new to learn, just "kill these" and "keep these mobs away from those mobs". Rhyo involves not standing in fire, and killing adds, and on top of that making sure you're attacking the correct leg and making sure he goes where you want him to go. And making sure you even know where you want him to go! Beth is more a classic-style straight-up fight, in a sense. Rhyolith's a big puzzle we're going to need to spend some time figuring out.

Most people I know (like someone I work with) have said that the spider queen is a much, much easier fight. She's also second on the list of "number of guilds that have killed this Firelands boss" (Rhyolith and Baleroc are a distant 3rd and 4th).

Honestly it has to depend on what BH looks like anyway. If the PvP gods are favorable we might even want to hit him before Nef, since apparently he's a fairly simple fight. On the other hand we might not even have BH all night and it'll be a non-issue.

Grinds bursts out singing... "Beth I hear you calling, but I can't come home right now...." Little bit of a KISS flashback, when they wore makeup and were good.

If we control BH at any point during the night we should stop what we are doing and head there. VP is more important for everyone than last tier's gear is for any single person that may still have holes to fill. My guess is that Cheeto, and possibly Jeynsa, are the only two peeps that have any holes to fill in their gear that may drop off Nef, aside from the tier helms which I know many peeps need to round out their set bonuses.

We'll do Shannox and then Beth on Sunday.

Everyone, please take a moment this evening to admire my shiny new pants. In a few weeks they'll be covered by a dress, so I want people to note just how amazing they are before they are forgotten.

Shanker - Thurs. / Sun. My gear is bad and I am a bad player!

You sound perfect for the token rogue slot!

On a side note, the only thing I really need is some new daggers. Although I won't turn away new headgear.

I notice it's a 7pm start for once. Bets on who will miss that detail?

Tsanga's is a cheap and decent upgrade. As to daggers, there are quite a few that drop in Firelands and there is a really nice crafted one that will be available to blacksmiths that have unlocked the entire Molten Front quest series.

It's funny he mentioned headgear. Al'Akir was kind enough to drop a tier helm token tonight and guess who won it?

I guess Al dropping a random token is Blizzard's way of making him not completely pointless?

Apparently they changed it back in 4.1 and added both the helm and shoulder tokens to his list. He can even drop two if the RNG is so inclined. They added the tanking necks at the same time, and they were best in slot for normal raids pre-4.2 (the heroic version being slightly worse than Sinestra's).

Good work last night folks... Thanks to reap for stepping in and helping out. We downed new boss in BH after a couple of false starts and then Carg cleaned up Alik'ar for us. That left us a few hours to head to do some trash and down Shannox before our 10pm cut off time. Couple of new purples for several folks. All in all, a good start to the raid week. Looks like Nef is the only bad guy we got left from old content. Rumor has it there might be a group forming to clear up to Nef so we have a quick lockout next week. Read up on Beth (both the kiss lyrics and the raid boss) and we will be taking a stab at the spider ... bring the RAID...
