Steam Summer Sale 2011: Best community ever (every last one of you)

jdzappa is a wonderful gentleman who I would gladly accompany to the prom any day, since he gave me the gift of Magicka!

Great. I can now play my copy of Batman. If I log out of my computer and log back in on a secondary account...

I feel bad I haven't played much of my gifts so far. I have my daughter for the month so my time is a bit more limited. That and I have some weird addiction to Hellgate Global

Weekend Deal, Zeno Clash, $3.75, 75% off.

Daily Deal Revenge of the Titans $5, 67% off.

Thoughts?

What I played of Zeno Clash (not much, had a system failure right after I installed it) I really enjoyed and it has a cool art style.

Dammit, I thought I was supposed to stop spending money like water on Steam after the summer sale!

Here's a link to the demo for Revenge of the Titans. Some reviews I've read say that it requires more micromanagement during combat than your average tower defense game. The term "click-fest" was mentioned, so you may or may not like this. The art style for both games looks pretty cool though.

Hey guys, did you hear Steam is going to have some sort of Summer sale? I wonder when it will begin

Better start saving your pennies!

Tomorrow! And it will last the entire rest of the summer!

Seriously though, I'm done buying games for a while. I just added 10 games to the pile during this sale. I've only launched 3 of them so far, not to mention that I already had a few other games added to the pile before this sale.

Normally I dread the change from daylight savings time back to standard time, but I think I'll welcome it this year. I bought and installed a 16' x 4' pool about 6 weeks ago, so I've been spending most of my spare time there. I'll catch up on the pile this fall when it's no longer warm enough to swim and when the sun sets at 5 PM.

This is the thread that never ends.... it just goes on and on my friends.... Some people started it to talk about a sale on steam... Now people keep on posting, pretty soon it will be a meme.... This is the thread that never ends..........

i know this is a longshot
but i have 27.47USD on my steam wallet that i would like to convert to paypal or amazon GC.
thus if you guys have anything you like to purchase from Steam, please let me know. paypal or amazon GC me and I'll send the game to you as a gift (:

thanks!

I'm so happy that every time check recent posts this thread has managed to be on the first page, despite infrequent posting. I will be sad when it leaves

This thread has all the makings of a torrid love affair. Several days of anticipatory courtship, a weeklong orgy of unbridled avarice, a refractory period of reflection, and then several days of spooning and pillow talk.

This thread had gone in an un-goodjerlike non-creepy direction for too long!

Can't wait until the part where she gets fed up with me and my Dutch ovens.

I'm sure we can correct that.

Whew, the pile is too big and I already have MI2 in the pile. Pass.

To celebrate the everlasting life of this thread, a free copy of the 2nd best game of all time up for grabs (the first being Escape from Monkey Island of course):

Monkey Island 2: Lechuck's Revenge Special Edition (Steam)

I also have a copy of Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light (non-steam though)

PM me, one game per person. Put the name of the game you want in the Subject. First person gets it for each of them. Choose wisely I'll be sending the prize your way TONIGHT. Probably very late.

EDIT: Coffee Grinders need not apply!

Oops, ignore my PM, interstate78. You already corrected your post.

Monkey Island 2 gone to Mr E.B. Slugworth, congats!

I've never played any of the Monkey Islands before. Do I need to have played the first one to understand the second one, or are they pretty self contained? I'm pretty interested since I've always heard my friends raving about them.

I now truly fear for my wallet at Christmas time, when the steam sales will be going on again. I spent something like 60 bucks during the steam sale, and I'm probably going to double that easy.

Well, you're halfway there

It's better if you played the first one because of the running gags and self reference but it stands on its own just fine if you read a synopsis of the first one. (guy wants to be a pirate, does the trials to become one, evil ghost pirate gets in the way, sexy mayor love triangle, hilarity ensues)

Hmm by all means if you can, play the first one

Monkey Island 2 gone to Mr E.B. Slugworth, congrats!

Lara Croft gone to bandit0013, congrats!

While you could probably get through the second fine without it, I would very strongly suggest you play the first one. You will enjoy the second much more in my opinion.

Do we know which were the most won games from wishlists? I remember they released that info last time, anything now?

(c*cks Rifle)

We'll get you a new one for Christmas.

Time to stuff this Steam sale into a sack and throw it in the river.

Just came back from vacation and found 300+ posts... so skipped a few pages. Must say, this whole thread was a blast of awesomeness and enabling I have never seen before! Next: Boxing Day Sale!

Thanks steve, Codger. I knew I shouldn't get tickets, the more tickets I get, the less chance I have at winning something xD
