Help me get rid of Curse client...

I have attempted everything I can to delete the curse client from my pc(for downloading/keeping addons for WoW updated). Now, everytime I reboot my pc, it wants me to install it. I have searched my harddrive for any curse files and not finding any. Any ideas?

Do you see anything in your Startup folder?

I've got an entry for it in add/remove programs. I suspect because it's a .net clickonce deployed thingy it's all cleverly integrated in a way 99.99% of other programs aren't, and windows is trying to be clever by repairing it. I'd let it install, and then look for an uninstall entry.

I tried uninstalling it once before and thought I had everything deleted.

It was in my startup folder and i have deleted it, forgot to check there, hopefully it doesn't try to come back....thanks for the help!

Format C:\
It's the only way to be sure.

First I'd try this.

If that doesn't work, are you running Windows? If you track down the registry entry, you should be able to figure out where it's pointing too and then delete everything. It might be named something bizzare you won't find normally. After that comes killing the registry entry. I don't know Curse, but there's a bit too editing your registry manually, so I'd be careful.

Finally there's nuking it from orbit. See above.

yah, i removed it from the start file, rebooted, and surprise, it didn't ask me to install again:)

From a little poking around over at curse, go to
XP: %userprofile%\Local Settings\Apps
(e.g. C:\Documents & Settings\Username\Local Settings\Apps)

VISTA / 7: %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Apps
(e.g. C:\users\Username\AppData\Local\Apps)

And delete the "2.0" folder

It seems to me like there could be other apps in there if they're deployed with the same method, so if I wanted to do it I would be selectively deleting anything that looked like curse stuff, rather than nuking the whole lot.

edit: also this:

To Completely uninstall curse you will have to go into these 2 file locations. Basically, all you have to do is delete two files.

*Delete the file "CurseClientStartup.ccip.Startup"
*Or just delete the whole folder if there is nothing else in it.

*Delete the file "CURSECLIENT.EXE-510DB1DC"
