Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Catch-All

Is anyone interested in Multiplayer at all? I'm planning to jump online this weekend to play a few matches. I want to get into it while everyone is still new to the experience. ;)

I'll give it a go. Add me on PSN. Warriorpoet897.

I haven't read a single post in this thread to avoid filthy spoilers. Just wanted to point out that I have a bottle of red wine and Uncharted 3 in hand from the Redbox today and tonight will be GLORIOUS!

My play through involved white, and it was glorious. I cant believe I played for almost seven hours straight yesterday. I can't remember the last time I did that.

For people that hate the PS3 controller (I've only used Sony controllers so I guess I just don't know any better) would this controller be an improvement?

Holy crap, the shipyard/cruise ship level. Holy.Crap.

Yeah that part is fantastic.

I don't know if it's my general annoyance towards all things Microsoft that led me to believe the XBox controller is the most uncomfortable thing in my hands, or just my life-long fanboy-ism towards all things PlayStation, but I love the PS controller and prefer it to the XBox's by far.

Was there a design change between the XBox and the XBox 360?

I'd probably jump on that if it was bluetooth. I don't want to have to plug a dongle into the my PS3. That is so last gen.

Ditto. For me, I think it's maybe a hand size thing. The 360 controller feels a bit too big/unwieldy. I do prefer the 360's triggers over the ps3 controller's double set of shoulder buttons though.

There was an open beta for the multi and some folks put a lot of time into that

Oh, I know. I'm not worried about them.

Awesome. I'll add ya when I get the chance.

You poor freaks.

I finished it. Just as epic as Uncharted 2 for me. Soooo much fun, and I just kinda love these characters.

These are the (good) Indiana Jones movie sequels we never got, only interactive. <3 Naughty Dog for this series. Lots.

My work week is over! I just picked this up (with a $20 credit, thank you K-Mart) and am ready to roll. Hit me hard, Naughty Dog.

I kind of agree with a lot of what Tom Chick said about this game, but I'd still give it a 9 out of 10... Those points don't matter to me when wrapped in the total package of this game.

This is a pretty bizarre promotion: http://www.grab-the-ring.com/

I held the ring for 2 minutes...

That's crazy! and awesome

If anyone hasn't friended me already, my ID is below, but I have to warn that my connection doesn't always play well with others.

I'm fairly interested in the co-op in this, but don't know if multiplayer will be fun with my constant struggles with the controller. In the campaign I can kind of slow down and take my time and there's lots of breaks for platforming sections and story stuff.

Is the co-op very quick action twitch style gameplay wise? Or can you take a more measured approach like you can in the campaign?

I'll be on this weekend! PXAbstraction on PSN if you want to join up. I even have a Bluetooth headset!

I ended up having a Twitter argument with George Broussard this morning about that review as he called it "jaded and irrelevant" and when I said it's a guy's opinion, responded with "when you're that off the mark, your "opinion" doesn't help anyone." The irony of that statement being made by a guy who spent 13 years and crashed a studio making one of the worst games of this generation and that he used the term "irrelevant" was super thick.

Tonight's my night skipping treadmill so I plan to dig into this as soon as I get home and hopefully, finish it some time tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

I friended you too, and have my headset as well. Should be fun.

I finally ordered a blue tooth headset, so I'll be up for co-op when that arrives later next week. Friend me up if interested.

Beat the single player. I've got to say, I think Uncharted 2 was a better game in most ways, but it was close and Uncharted 3 is by no means anything less than one of the best games on the console. Uncharted 2 just had better set pieces and a better balance of exploration/climbing to combat. That said, I really dug U3's ship graveyard, and the section right after that.

I felt like Uncharted 3 closed a lot of important story threads that I missed out on as I never played the first game. Maybe someone who's been with the series since the beginning finds it a bit more fulfilling.

I think I sent you a friend request. Maybe. I'm really not sure.

I'll have to get a bluetooth headset this weekend. PSN: MysticViolet.

Probably about 2/3rds through. Wasn't feeling the story until

Spoiler:

Elena showed up

but once that happened I was totally hooked. Acting, story, setting have all been top notch as expected.

The combat is annoying me, though. I know there's been complaints about the aim, but my issue is more the awful hit detection, especially for enemies in cover. I'll shoot the part of them that's showing and the bullets keep hitting magical invisible barriers. It also seems like some of the set pieces are pretty difficult, but that may just be me being out of practice.

I played through the whole game the day it came out. I loved it. Great story, funny dialogue, and the game play hasn't changed much at all. Exactly what I expected.

For any of you who don't quite have the budget to afford all games coming out, a ton of redbox kiosks now have it in stock. Even though I don't get the MP part of the game, I figure I can beat it in 3-4 days which means an $8 game for me. With Skyrim coming out I really have to finish everything up soon and clear my lists

Oh my goodness, I really enjoyed this one. For a game based on pulp action films of the 80s, the character arcs were, at times, charming and really touching/heartbreaking. There are some themes running through it that I never would have expected to see in a triple A, and I'm super grateful for it.

For as much as I loved it to pieces though,

Spoiler:

hot damn I wish the spiders had been addressed in some fashion. Why where they there? What did they have to do with Iram, holy cats.

When buying it, the clerk looked at me, look at the box, and said, "Are you watching or playing?"

Any coop going on today? I'll be on in a little while. Neede a break from getting crushed by dark souls.

I'd definitely like to dig into co-op with some people. I'm back from the gym and I'll be on for the next while in campaign if anyone wants to try it out.
