Ahem... Gilly found it.
Next you're going to tell me that Columbus didn't discover America.
Gilly found that, too!
She's amazing, but very low key.
Next you're going to tell me that Columbus didn't discover America.
Actually, Nomadic Asian tribes first discovered America over 15,000 years ago. The first Europeans to discover the were actually the vikings around 999 AD, about 500 years before Columbus. I think there was a Gilly on that expedition with Leif Erikson.
Yeah, okay, good one. Now tell me the one about Pierre Curie's wife again.

I'm pretty sure Gilly found it first, but just didn't know what it was.

They came from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun, where the hot springs flow
The Long Night episode we almost had.
Game Of Thrones' director Miguel Sapochnik talks getting "visually policed" by showrunners
He also says he argued with Benioff and Weiss over the battle’s dearth of impactful deaths. “I wanted to kill everyone,” he says in news that really makes us wish he were running the show. “I wanted to kill Jorah in the horse charge at the beginning. I wanted it to be ruthless, so in the first 10 minutes you could say all bets are off, anyone could die. But David and Dan didn’t want to. There was a lot of back and forth on that.” Sapochnick says he eventually relented because “there comes a point when they dig in and you just don’t want to be there.”
Sigh.
That was the beauty of Serenity. As much as I hated it, when the one character dies, and things start looking grim, you think everyone could die. It puts you in that emotional turmoil and makes the rest of the movie that much better.

He's the wind. You can't kill the wind. Nobody should be able to kill the wind!
He was the goddamn wind.
No, he was a leaf. They die all the time.

Dammit.

I fear we're nurturing the sense of entitlement.
Why is the HBO production breaking ranks to let blame fall on the show runners? This annoys me.
I know i didn't get the show's ending I wanted.
The Real Reason Fans Hate the Last Season of Game of Thrones
An interesting article talking about the shift of GoT from a sociological story to a psychological one.
It is known:
Been binging the show over the past couple of weeks. I am up to episode 6 of Season 3.
Really enjoying it so far. I am not sure why I am enjoying this when I really couldn't get very far in the books.
I do need to remember that I need to wait until my kids are (a) asleep; or (b) out of the house when watching it.
Episode 6, season 3 you say?
Gooooooooood.

He was the goddamn wind. :(
I believe he was actually talking about a different character, who died much earlier, establishing that core characters weren't safe.
Holy Crap.
"The Lannisters send their regards."
Such a good episode.
And can I say I like the slow character development of Arya, The Hound and all of the other characters as well?
Plus, how was that episode not the season finale??

That's a show staple. First season, a certain beheading. And yes, Red Wedding. Stay tuned.
The king is dead.
Long live the king.
I don't think a death has ever been so satisfying. The actor plying Joffrey is brilliant.
I see you got to The Rains Of Castemere. That's what I was alluding to above.
You are certainly in the halcyon days of the show. Enjoy!

Yup, the penultimate episode of (just about) every season is incredible.
Seeing these pictures from the Emmy awards, it makes me realize that even if it makes sense that GoT is over and done, I want to see these people act together in an ensemble again. I don't even know if I care what it is, I just want to see them portray characters who cross each others' paths again.
edit: OH speaking of pictures, now I realize why Emilia Clarke always seemed so familiar:
OMG I never paid attention to the lyrics of that song...
Even my college self had no clue as I was humming along
Talk about polishing sh*t into a gemstone. Wow!
If lust and hate is the candy.
If blood and love taste so sweet
Then we
Give them what they want
Hey
Hey
Give them what they want
So their eyes are
Going hazy
Because they want to turn it off
So their eyes are
Soft and lazy

Instead, they seem to be going for a Dance of Dragons series. Dragons must've seemed more appealing.
They have a book to work off of rather than a few notes. It makes sense in a business way, probably.
