Love FAQ: Keep Your Coat On and Your Wallet Closed

Totally tangential question: Is 'gil' pronounced /ɡɪl/ like Gilbert Gottfried, or /dʒɪl/ like Gillian Anderson?

Hmm. You'd think that the number of voiced FF games there've been would have answered that question.

I've always pronounced it Gilbert-style.

In a very loud, nasal voice? "That sword? Let me check... um, oh I see it here. Yes, it costs 75 GIIIIIIL!" >o<

Aflac?

From what I understand, the character that forms it is the same one for the outfit you wear doing martial arts, which is pronounced "gi". So that would translate as a homonym for the gill of a fish. Please add yet another "from what I understand" to that, though.

And Kat, I can't believe you had to suggest that to that college student, either. He reminds me of one of my son's friends (can't be him because he found someone a bit ago).

Seriously, Lara, keep up the great work.

D'aww. Sigged! I'm blushing.

This week's Love FAQ covers how to ditch a bad relationship, how to deal with your crush on the Paladin next door, and why taking your fashion cues from Rocky Horror isn't always the best idea:

Much better to take your fashion cues from this:

Been travelling a bit and missed the last few weeks. Just read them all tonight. Fun stuff, as always.

As for this week, someone should have told U-Haul to "never stick in in the crazy" and from that clearly follows "never move in with the crazy".

"Stick It In The Crazy" is my new battle cry while gaming online.

Stick it in crazy is running amok as a catch phrase with my roommate's friends.

This week, wandering eyes, preconceived notions, and why bald is beautiful:

Love FAQ: Ladies Love Cool Lex Luthor

Yikes, Patrick Stewart with hair looks like David Walliam.

The wife claimed that she thought I'd look good if I let my hair grow. As an experienced slaphead, I knew better, but I indulged her. Didn't take long growing it out before she agreed that I'd passed the point of baldness where not keeping it shaved was an option anymore.

Feel much more like me with it cropped again.

That said, it's rough to be balding when you're 20. Not so much when you're 30.

Legitimately bummed this is over.

Adieu, LoveFAQs.

We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when..
