I knew we were friends for more than just a love of TIE Fighter.

sh*t yeah son. Making a MOB go airborne with some awesome Chakram attacks is just SUPER GLEEFUL.

It was a great game...too bad Schilling was running that company to the ground..

I've still never finished this, but I do go back occasionally and knock out another hour or so. Usually once I put down any game without Civilization or Elder Scrolls in the title it's done forever.

It's mindless fun, but the key word there for me is "fun". It's a shame the focus was on the MMO because this was a pretty solid game.

I went the Might route with a splash of sorcery and assumed i would be digging the long and greatswords. I do but I used a couple fae blades last night that just felt great. Their speed and attack arc allowed me to hit stun some trickier enemies into oblivion.

Not sure if it's enough to make me switch to Finesse just yet. I have to assume a respec option opens up later?

Fateweavers can do a respec. I repecced several times in my playthrough.

This is the game where once you met certain requirements in the base classes you could unlock really cool advanced classes right?

Yeah I had already unlocked the second tier of fighter, think it's just called Fighter

I really liked the "Jack of All Trades" build. Finally - a game that allowed me to do most everything!

Thanks for all the conversation on this. It's been sitting all dusty in my Steaming Pile, but I might have to check this out. It sounds like a game I'd like.

"Steaming Pile"

Lol, aw man, love it!

Mmm juggle combos.

I found a Fateweaver and weaved my way out of my iffy skill point distribution. I'm now specced into Duelist with a bunch of points dumped into Fae Blades and a few tossed into Might for the shield blocks, stats for equipping heavier armour and that "get over here" Scorpion spear grab. I've also crafted my first Chakrams so I have a sexy-looking ranged option. The wand I had before was fine but... meh.

Overall much better!

The only problem I have with the Chakrams is that they're so much fun it's hard to use some of the other options! I use the fateweavers a lot, changing up the gameplay to keep the game a bit fresher but it's hard not to use Chakrams. Though I do like smacking things with a big hammer on occasion as well.

I will agree that the sceptre feels lackluster; I only gave that a try once and never went back.

I think once I got the Chakrams, that's all I ever used. I think I dabbled in some other stuff, but always went back to Chakrams because f*ckING FUN.

THQ Nordic just announced that they have acquired the rights to KoA: Reckoning.

That's a pleasant surprise

I remember trying the demo of this and it freezing up about 2 minutes after I got control of my character. I'd potentially be interested in a remastered and bugpurged version, though.

Good, if they fixed up the inventory screens not much else would need to be done to sell the product as modern. The combat system was so good and the MMO-lite questing is pretty typical these days.

I loved Amalur but don't have a lot of faith in Nordic.

You glitch one achievement, and suddenly it's

What the hell man, they've done so much good.

This excites me to no end.

Looks like it's the entire IP and "other assets". I wonder how much of the MMO stuff is useful for anything?

Wasn't Brian Reynolds working on something for them at the time too?

Nice! I really appreciated the original title... at the time. Don't know if I'd want a KoA: Reckoning 2 in the exact style of the first, however, if they, uh, serious-ified(?) the story presentation a smidge they could totally leave the crazed over-the-top tone of combat and I'd have my eyes on it. Prepping wallet, as it were..

Never forgive never forget.

I liked the game well enough, though I never finished it. I thought the elvish lore was amazing. I ought to finish it just for the writing.

Too bad it's not BC.

I'm pretty sure I know what Nordics gameplan here is - The exact same as with Titan Quest - Spruce it up, and send it to current consoles for massive profits. Nothing wrong with that, its just that they have some bug squashing issues in many of their recent games.
