Three Interesting New Perfect World MMOs (F2P)

Not that crazy about Blacklight. Although I guess its sorta like getting Killzone for free.

I think TERA is getting another shot to the heart. With Guildwars 2 looking to release at the same time and now Raiderz looks really similar. It may steal a lot of TERA's thunder because it is F2P and it has an open character skill system.

Rusty Hearts looks like Vindictus meets Castlevania.

These games may turn out to be not all that but being f2p, you can play it at your leisure.

Check your inboxes. A little birdy told me that Rusty Hearts beta keys are floating around the net.

I'd give Rusty Hearts a try. I like me some Castlevania, especially when there's like a million other players stealing my GOD-DAMNED WALL CHICKEN. That aside, that's a really terrible trailer. If your voice acting is awful, don't make half your trailer awkward dialog.

Anyway. Anyone have a spare key?

Just over 3,400 keys left available for Rusty Hearts.

Every Perfect World game i've tried has left me bored to tears.

Battle of the Immortals was pretty good. The leveling pace may have been a hair on the too rapid side.

And Forsaken World straddled the line of handing out candy 3 times a second for the first 10 levels and then dropping it for the typical endless grind after. So PWE may zero in on the sweat spot eventually.

But these are all action oriented so its up in the air.

Well Forsaken World is on Steam now and offering some free pet if you log in today. Wondering if it's worth messing with at all?

Not sure if there's anything differentiating this from all the other fantasy MMOs out there. Races, classes, occupations, auction house, pets, mounts... checks all around.

There's nothing that differentiates it from anything else out there...I played for about an hour and a half and had some fun. I didn't want to remove it from my hardrive, at any rate.

I agree. I played FW until I made it to what I assume is the first outpost/town you make it to. Then I realized I hated what I was playing so stopped.

I actually liked Blacklight: Tango Down, but I really couldn't stomach the 1200 points for it on XBLA-there just wasn't enough new there to justify it.

But for free? I'd take another look.

Looks like Rusty Hearts has more beta keys as I just got one when I signed up. They also gave me two more, so if you are unable to get a key, just PM me and I'll send you one.

Apparently last week Peferct World acquired Cryptic studios, who has Champions Onlne (F2P) and Star Trek Online (no F2p currently). Will be interesting to see if anything changes with those games. Atari points are becoming Cryptic points again, that's about all I have heard about. Kinda surprising they're not going to whatever PW currency there is, I assume there's some general stuff valid across all their games?

Tried a few classes in Forsaken World. It's pretty fun. I kept getting this graphics glitch where the screen would be covered in textures from every object in sight; as if all textures stopped honoring their bounding boxes. Uninstalled.

I uninstalled Rusty Hearts quicker than any other game ever. Keyboard controls? Meh. I know it had gamepad support, but I didn't care after 5 minutes.

If interested, RPGFan is giving away 1,000 beta invites for RaiderZ. Beta starts on August 8th.
