WoW: GWJ Alliance Guild Primer

Speaking of raids, there's one tonight, I think. Do a /who GWJ and look for Carganthem (the GM) or Reaper (former GM). Both should be on around 8-9 Eastern.

I'm also around most night. PST to Jorrn (me). Keep trying if you don't see one of us on.

Managed to get into the guild an hour or so ago. Yay for GWJ.

Is the guild active or mostly raiding? I am looking to poke my head in and level up to 110 maybe run a few dungeons with folds. Wouldn't mind just being in a guild with GWJers with no expectation of raiding or anything.

The main GWJ guild is GWJ Alliance on the Blackhand realm. We usually have 5-10 folks on at any one time. When the new patch drops, it'll bump up into the teens for a few weeks.

There's a Horde guild (GWJ Horde) on the same server, but it's pretty small. I don't know how active it is.

You're free to join one (or both, if you play both sides of the aisle). Do the usual /who GWJ and PST whoever pops up. I'm usually on at night (Jorrn is my main). Carganthem (Keldar on the boards) is the GM. Shanker (Reap on the boards) is his predecessor. Both are usually in game Tuesday and Thursday nights for raids.

Both of those guys (and a few others from GWJ) raid with another guild. You'll have to chat with one of them to get specifics (times, ilevels, etc.). It's all pretty casual these days, and I'm sure they're looking for more good folks.

Come join us!

FWIW, I am slowly withdrawing from the guild as I migrating to a social group in WoW that I have run with since BC.

Hi!
I just restarted wow a couple weeks ago (after 7ish years away). For kicks I made a monk and a priest on Blackhand. If it's cool (sounds like it is) I'll ping someone for a guild invite. My dudes so far are:

Panda - Pandaren Monk (13)
Comet - Gnome Priest (5)

My old main server was Terenas, so I don't have any higher level dudes on this server. Anyway, so far I'm having a lot of fun! I quite enjoyed the Pandaren starting zone, but I guess now I'll go through Westfall.

Heya Shawnosaurus. Look up three posts for how to get a guild invite.

There's no minimum character level to join, and there are no limits on alts.

If you need some 16-slot bags, loot the guild bank. If we're out, PST me (Jorrn) and I'll wake up my tailor. I think he's still asleep in the garrison inn back in Draenor where I left him months ago.

Glad you're digging the game. As I'm sure you've noticed, the starter zones (1-60) were revamped in the Cata expansion. The BC zones are exactly how you remember them.

Unless you really like the leveling experience and want to take your time, I'd advise you to get to 100 asap so you enjoy the newest part of the game. Legion has a lot going on.

Hi everyone, jumping back into WoW after being away for years...I'll look up someone in-game! See you all sometime!

Any raiding going on with the guild of late? Chat is very quiet. Been leveling and gearing for the last two months and *might* be ready.

Check with Keldar (here) or Carg (in game). He and a few others have been raiding a couple of nights a week - Tuesdays and Thursdays, I think.

Otherwise, the guild melt happened very quickly with this expansion. And it's a good one, too!

Rich, many of the active raiders switched over to a GWJ-like guild called Rapture.

The regular schedule is T/Th 7 - 10 with a break around 8:30. We have been farming heroic Nighthold for quite a while and are planning on starting Normal Tomb of Sargaras next week.

I will hit you up in-game.

*ahem*

Attention, everyone. Hey. Attention. (grabs mike) *pfffffft* *pffffffft* Is this thing on?

I'd like to introduce you to the new GWJ-Alliance guild leader ... ah, me.

Seems that Carg (Keldar here) brought the rest of his toons over to Rapture with the rest of the raiders and tossed me the ol' Hat of Leadership on the way out the door.

So, uh, hey!

If anyone has any guild questions or issues, hit me up here or in game -- Jorrn is my main, and Rucker is my No. 1 alt at the moment. Jorrn#1973 is my Battle Tag, in case I'm slumming Horde side.

Honestly, the current iteration of GWJ is social guild (and not even very social at that). If you want to raid, head over to Rapture and join up with some old hands. If you want a place with a lootable guild bank, a few guild perks and the shelter from the join-my-guild-plz spam, look us up. If anyone wants to organize 5-man or raid runs, speak up in guild chat. I won't get in your way. Heck, I might even join up.

Are you guys still on Blackhand?

The quote-unquote official GWJ-Alliance guild remains on Blackhand, yes.

There's a GWJ-Horde guild on Blackhand as well, but I don't know how active it is, and I can't say I've ever bumped into any of them while out and about in the world.

HOW TO JOIN THE QUOTE-UNQUOTE OFFICIAL GWJ GUILD:

The quote-unquote official GWJ Guild is GWJ Alliance. It is open to any GWJ forum members who play Alliance on either the Blackhand or Galakrond servers. PST me in game (Jorrn or any of my alts, or track me down via Battle Tag if I'm slumming Horde side) or send me a DM here. It is a social guild that has not raided for several expansions. Anyone (raiders, PvPers, etc.) and their alts are welcome; feel free to organize events.

There is a GWJ Horde guild on the Baelgun server. The only thing I know about the guild is that it exists.

If you're Alliance and on Blackhand (or Galakrond) and interested in raiding, seek out the Rapture guild. Two GWJ members (Keldar and Reap) moved there to raid. Contact them for more details.

If you are Alliance and want to be included in the GWJ group chat (aka a Wow Community, a new feature in 8.0), the code (as of Aug. 25) is 2PwNwDnuX7y.

I'll list other GWJ-affiliated guilds here as I hear of 'em.

Update, Aug. 23: There's now a GWJ Horde community (not guild). The new and improved code is M4Yd0gNFAYM. (Enter it in game; go through the guild tab to find the community site.)

I hope this isn't a problem, but I went ahead and created a Wow Community for the Horde side. It's not a guild. Just a community. Here is the community code: pXaBy4biXZz

Here's the never expiring GWJ Horde code:

Hi, new community member here. I'm glad to join it after some time of listening to the podcast and I'll be thrilled to join the WoW group as well though I've not played wow for 10 years :`[

This said I have a question: is it possible to join if I play on a different server? I mean, I haven't played for 10 years, I'm a new player at this point and I chose the server that is for the newbies.

Also, does the regional division matter? I'm in European zone.
Thanx!

EU is a completely different server group. So, yes.

Reaper81 wrote:

So no way to join unless I somehow get to play in the US group? That is unfortunate to say the least...
Well, I'll just admire the community from afar, iguess=) Thnx!

It looks like the Horde community code has expired. Could you please post a new one? I'd love to join up!

Nevermind, just saw the never expiring code. Doh!

No problem. I should have learned how the codes work before starting it.

I created a 110 Alliance character on Blackhand and requested to join the guild. Haven't heard anything for a few days so I thought I'd follow up here.

Hammerspark the Dwarf Paladin, account r0b0ts.

Gonna get my tank on, yo.

Welcome back, and pre-welcome aboard!

Best way to hook up with the guild is to pst me (info in the link in the sig) in game. The in-game guild application is weird. It never prompts me to look at it, so I don't, and I can't use it to accept new members unless you're on your toon.

Thanks, Enix. I sent a friend request so you'll have my info. Looking forward to grouping up!

It's so quiet....... Anyone still playing?

I am because I'm an addict and old and get off my lawn.

I'm leveling a rogue now. Once I get him to 120, it'll be time for 8.2. After that, I'm going to see the world from the Horde side of things and ignore Classic until I can't any longer. I think I want to drop in on Duskwood - it's my favorite pre-Cata Alliance zone from a story perspective.

Wait, Enix, you've never played a Horde character? In all these years?!?!

garion333 wrote:

I have! I've got a priest and a rogue at 110 or thereabouts. I don't play either of them all that much, though if I want the Horde frog mount I'm going to have to get out there and grind out some gold.

I guess I meant that I wanted to see BFA from the Horde perspective. I'm assuming the story lines and quests on that continent are a lot different than the ones on Kul Tiras, yes?

So people still playing in the alliance? I just started again. Last time I played was during Cataclysm. Was looking to see if its worth starting a character on Blackhand or pick up my now lvl 35 warrior from another realm.
