Okay.
I have an Alliance character now, but he's on Zangarmarsh. Would it be okay if I transferred him to Blackhand and joined the gang?

Welcome! The GWJ-Alliance crew always welcomes fresh meat, er, new members.
One caveat: Other than Tuesday and Thursday nights when the raiders are on, there aren't many guild folks out and about.
If you do join up, please help yourself to the bags, small pets and looterangs in the guild bank.
Thank you very much. I've started the transfer, and I'll see you all once it's done.
edit: Strike that. It's already completed. I just logged in. I'm in the Redridge Mountains with my level 16 Pandaran hunter named Hrhaggard.

Do you need directions back to civilization?
If you're around Thursday night and still need a guild invite, pst me (I'll be on Jorrn or Sherm, mostly likely) or anyone who's raiding. Most of the raid crew have invite powers.
That is civilization when you're level 18. (I'd forgotten how fast the levels can stack on when you're a lowbie)
I will be on tonight, but I'm West Coast. What time are you going to be on? Then I can try to make sure I'm roaming around at the general right time.
Hmm. I should be around until about 10 EST (which is 9 server time - server time = Central Time)
That's 7 Pacific. I'll log in before I make dinner.
See you then.

You know, every time I join a GWJ guild I never touch the bank because I know I'll be bouncing off the game in a few months. I'm an MMO tourist.
That said, I'd probably stick longer with games if I had full compliments of bags, etc., as storage space is usually my #1 gripe about MMOs in the beginning. Mostly since I love to craft!
I also do a lot of crafting. I am a proud member of what we call that the Yak-Shaving Division on my other guild.
However, I do want to learn how to raid and play along with everyone else.
Take the bags. Please! My tailor is up to his pointy warlock cap in netherweave cloth.
Also take a looterang. Only chumps run to the corpse to get loot.
I"m logged in, but I don't know how to get the right people's attention. I need to make some Friends, I guess.
Not that I have the power for that sort of thing anymore, but if you do a /who GWJ and there's anyone around, we can check for you to see if any of us can hook you up.
I'll try that tomorrow. One of the things I need to work on is the communications commands. I play in the same room with most of my current guild, so I'm really no good that this stuff.
I'm sucked back in. I've leveled a toon to 20 and payed my monthly fees again. Is anyone around to allow guild access these days? Thank you in advance for the help.
If you're looking for a GWJ-Alliance invite, I'm usually around at night (after 8 server) and on weekends. Send in-game mail to Jorrn, and I'll look out for your toon when I'm on. Saves you from having to /who GWJ every few minutes!
Hi guys so I'm back in on WoW, made a baby druid in Blackhand so will request an invite. I have an upcoming career change which will give me far more time and flexibility so plan to stick with it longer this time (my highest toon was an 84 hunter on Horde). I am going to beg for bags but want to earn everything else myself. Looking forward to at least participating in guild chat!
So do you guys do voice a lot and if so on Curse or Vent?
Welcome back, Docjoe. Read about your career change elsewhere. Best of luck!
The guild has most recently used Mumble for raids. AFAIK there isn't any in-guild voice chatter outside of that. Or, at least, I haven't been party to it. You might ask Carg (Keldar @ the forums) about that.
GWJ (the forum, not the guild) uses a couple of different voice comms. Details here: https://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/...
Hi - I'm afraid I've been sucked back in as well. Thanks to some friends, and the fact that the pre-Legion patch has been plain fun, I'm back into WoW after a very long hiatus. I'd love to join - I'm inherently time-limited to playing casual-ish, but if I can help I will! I'll look for Jorrn and make a request in game as well. Thanks!
If I'm not around, Snowy, look for Carg and Hack. Or do a /who GWJ and ask around. Welcome back!
I jumped back in. Saw Ranalin, but he jumped ship to the Horde... I'll see if I can find someone online tonight. I'd like to join back up.
I also jumped back in, along with a friend of mine. Another friend was going to play, but he can't right now.
I quit back in WotLK, so my highest characters are level 80(ish now). My buddy and I played on Sunday and got to level 84 with our duo and then I played my Rogue and leveled him to 83.
I decided to try a Panda Monk so I started her on Blackhand and got a GInvite last night - thanks for that. Name is Newtini.
I look forward to seeing you guys in game. If I stick with WoW, I'll probably move my Rogue over to Blackhand. I miss the heroics and raiding to a degree.
Goal #1: Bags.
Goal #2: Fill the Bags

I plan on playing tonight on my new level 30 Panda Monk, name is Newtini and is in the GWJ Alliance guild. If anyone has a lowbie alt and wants to group up to bang out quests or hit a dungeon, send me an in-game message.

I think most of us are max level. That said, have heard the Good News about our Lord and Savior, Timewalking?

I sure haven't. Unless that's the name for the way levels players at different levels can "normalize" in the 100 - 110 areas? I'm glad they implemented that. GuildWars 2 did a great job of this by normalizing the characters to the zone.
My Panda is now level 70, and cranking along fine. The soloability of a Windwalker monk is incredible, especially with Heirloom gear.
I'd like to do some dungeons with my friend; he's on a druid and was one of the best group/raid healers I've seen back when we played in BC and Lich King. I'm on a Ret Paladin or Rogue. We're only getting to play 3-5 hours a week and he's not comfortable enough to try a dungeon, yet, as a tank or healer. So, we're just doing the quest lines. I guess I could learn how to heal with my Paladin again and let him DPS as Boomkin or Cat or whatever druids do these days. Back when I was playing in Lich King, I tanked and healed with the Paladin, I never played him Ret except when quickly leveling him.
I had a guy send my Panda a random group invite in Silithus (sp?) the other day. After banging out a few quests, he queued us for a dungeon. We blew through it and he ended up leaving after a bit. After that, I was always in the dungeon queue with the Panda Monk. Talk about OP! These guys I was with are just blowing through the dungeons without taking a breath. I'm having trouble keeping up with them to get some hits in. I think I'm the only one looting so that slows me down a little.
Basically, it's been nostalgically cool seeing the old dungeons with the Panda. I'm really looking forward to seeing some I've never been in once I get to 80 or so.
I'm getting into collecting pets, too. I'll be running some of the old dungeons soon to get the pets they've added. I picked up some Darkmoon pets last night and will be getting the rest in the next couple days.
Back to work time...

Here's a handy Timewalking explainer.
The TL,DR version: You run old dungeons for fun, XP, loot, lols. Gear, etc., is normalized so 90s can run with 110s. The tokens you get from the events go toward a ton of useful stuff (heirloom gear, mounts, toys, etc.)
Timewalking is part of the World Event rotation. According to this calendar, it looks like we get Outland TW next week and Northrend TW and Cata TW in November.
In Warlords, you'd get extra tokens (plus valor and other stuff) if you ran enough TW dungeons in a week. It was a nice bonus and almost worth running with some of the god-awfulest tanks ever.
The Legion dungeon event at the end of October doesn't give rep (boo). Instead, it's an extra drop.
WoW! Great to hear. Thanks for the info. I'll check the link now while I'm waiting for about 30 million rows to purge from the dev database.
Edit: A-HA! Now I know what Timewalking badges are. I saw them as a currency when looking for Heirlom vendors on WoWHead.

I hit 90 with my PMonk last night and went straight to WoD.
Oh no. Garrisons. Can't... ignore... must... buiiiiiiilllllllldddddd...
So much for my fast leveling. Time to smell the roses.

Is the guild still active? I'm looking for people to group up with on either my Horde toon who is 868 iLevel or I'm working on leveling my alliance Hunter up to 110 now cause horde sucks at PvP.
Switching one of my toons over to Blackhand, who should I talk to for an invite to the guild?
The guild lives! But mainly on Alliance side. (There's a Horde counterpart, but it's small, and the raiders are Alliance.)
Speaking of raids, there's one tonight, I think. Do a /who GWJ and look for Carganthem (the GM) or Reaper (former GM). Both should be on around 8-9 Eastern.
I'm also around most night. PST to Jorrn (me). Keep trying if you don't see one of us on.
