Eh, I sweat, eat and drink on the white one in the living room, just have to take care of it.

You are brave.

Or silly, hence its inclusion in this thread.

Or africanized killer bees.

What's wrong with you people? Why did this take so long?

"Made more like Africa". Duh.

That is still my favorite gif on the entire internet.

Seriously. It is literally impossible to come up with anything better. I've got 2 1/2 years of data proving it.

My wife collects the stuffed microbes. It makes getting presents for her a little simpler. Except I can never remember which ones she already has. Those science words just sound like gibberish.

I'll 3rd that. I never not laugh.

It's official.

I'm in debt.

Split level? Risky.

You could also say "Congrats".

Congrats, Rezzy! I expect some Calvin & Hobbes-esque sled-jump photos off that hill.

Nice place you got there Rezzy!

Congrats!

At least the site's got good drainage. Although, having a retaining wall tie in at the wall of the building could pose it's own issues, but if it's been there and not bowing, it should be fine.

I actually like split levels. I know some people do not. They are crazy, and probably like crappy ideas like cape cods.

Also, google maps shows a casino in Omaha for Casino Bluffs, Iowa.

Thanks! What can I say... Risk Taker is my middle name!
That sledding hill is going to make a lot of things a little interesting... and I'm already sending out feelers to have mowing be someone else's problem. But the house is immaculate. The only thing that needs attention is the deck. And that's just a decent wash and refinish (and maybe an additional diagonal brace underneath).

Edit: Oh and "Casino" Bluffs is an inside joke. Council Bluffs has had a few pseudonyms when I was growing up. Casino Bluffs replaced the more 'derogatory' Council-Tucky when they basically took over most of the river side.

Why is the image named "BirthdayPresent.jpg"? Who do you know that buys you a house as a present? Can I meet this said friend or possibly be adopted into the family?

You've never bought yourself a birthday present? Just fortuitous timing on the closing date.

You've never bought yourself a birthday present? Just fortuitous timing on the closing date, my precious. :)

The obvious unsaid, now revealed.

It looks like it will be a very fun build. However, I'm starting to get a sneaking suspicion that my mid-life crisis will involve buying thousands of dollars worth of Legos.

Still cheaper than a Porsche.

I approve of this mid-life crisis management.

If I ever got back into LEGO, it'd be with Mindstorms. There's a v3 out this fall that looks really cool.

I also approve having done the same thing a few weeks ago. Legos are great! It's the most relaxing way possible to spend an hour or two.

Fourth'd.

This is just the "office" collection...

Build a working Porsche out of Legos.

I mean, duh, right?

Obviously.

Legos are insanely awesome. The problem is you quickly run out of space for all the things you've built.

Which is why I have an Office Collection

So loving this thing with the classic controller pro. I get the nice Nintendo "we know what a D-pad should be" D-pad, with extra buttons for various functions. Plus, the nice light weight of a battery-free controller, coupled with the convenience of a wireless controller. I think it's the happiest a controller has made me since the original NES controller.

I've never done much with Legos, but now I am tempted to go buy some.
