I do already have that lego set... hmmm.

Oh wow you guys weren't kidding-- at 15$ per mini and up this would take a whole LOT of money to play

dayum

You can get them online for <$10, and if you're patient, there's the occasional Amazon sale, got a lot last year for something <$7 a mini.

$15/mini is a little steep, but its supposed to be a skirmish-sized game. Most of the games I've seen actually hit the table have been with 3-5 ships per side, which is super cheap compared to other skirmish-sized games. Hell, I've got a ton more invested into my Warmachine army...

It isn't final yet, but they've accepted our counter-counter-offer and we've made the good-faith deposit.
... going to find a better pic. Zoomed in and everything is all dead. Stupid seasonal satellite imagery.

Whatcha get, a house? That hardly counts as silly!

He bought it with a subprime loan.

Sorry, was trying to figure out how to pull the higher quality shots out of the MLS system and then I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the hell Google did with Picasaweb that removed my ability to link to individual pictures I've hosted and then got called away mid edit.

As for silly: I'm buying a house with my girlfriend. Cue end of relationship in 5-4-3....

First net-new skis, ever - a pair of Fischer Motive 88s, with Head Mojo 12 bindings. Replacing my purchased-used 2005 Rossignol Z5s; they're supposed to be fantastic for East coast hardpack, and I'll be spending next weekend at Sunday River to find out. Woot!

So yeah, I bought this tshirt.

The Z5 was a decent ski. I almost got a pair. I skied them in Whistler. Did fairly well in 10-15cm. My legs died though. They were obviously better on the groomed connections to the lifts. Great ski. Not a West Coast ski. I ended up getting the S9 Ti Oversize. I'm East. I was visiting family out West.

I have to go back to the skiing thread and see if you were the buyer with race experience.

Did you consider the 12m RC4? Pretty stiff ski, I hear. Popular with racers. You probably made a good choice for a more casual ski that will serve in a variety of conditions. I don't know what the RC4s are like in deep or cruddy conditions.

Lenovo Y500

Yea! Back into PC gaming after a 10+ year break!

Where did you get that gem, cause I wants me one.

My wife loves our Aylio's. I would prefer bands with permanent handles as I find the clasp seems to rub a bit, but it's not a huge deal.

That said, I don't think exercise equipment can count as a silly purchase

I was hoping for BDSM jokes, you disappoint me.

We have a total gym, It comes with these handles.

When I do butterflies or a bench press, they rub on either my wrists or fore-arms and I get chafed like I am in shackles. I much prefer the cloth straps.

So, I bought a gaming wheel. That in itself is not a silly purchase, but I think the fact I bought it just for ETS2 makes it kinda silly (to drive that baby on the screen). It could probably be argued that ETS2 was a silly purchase as well.

Your desk is wealthy with silly purchases.

But they weren't this month.

From teefury.

Go up four posts.

My current non-gaming laptop is on its last legs, but pining over ETS2, Grimrock, Esther, Amnesia and more made me leap from a conservative non-gaming replacement to a 'why the hell not' intro gaming rig.

Spoiler:

It was primarily ETS2!

But I'll bet it keeps the grues away.

SKIING!

I'm on the East coast, as well - thus the Motive 88s, which are considered very good one-quiver skis for te conditions we typically see around here. "RC4" is a weird moniker; Fischer has tossed it on various skis over the past few decades, but in general, they just mean "racing ski line" skis now.

(That said: I'm not the skier with race experience; I'm strong, generally PSIA 8+, but I don't ski as hard as I "could" when tooling around.)
