This is my recovery project while I'm convalescing the next two weeks.

THAT IS AWESOME!!!

Why is there a pic of a Clone Trooper on the box?
/nerd rant :)

I can't find the, "this is what $1000 worth of lego looks like" video.
Anyone? Deathstar and Stardestroyer.

I was looking for the animated .gif of it but yeah.

My 8 year old son got the Lego Death Star for Christmas (I kept trying to steer him towards the (that looks awesome, btw) Super Star Destroyer... no dice ). It took him/us ~4 days of long shifts working on it to finish it (he was very insistent that he finish it all in one sitting, lol).

While he was playing near it one day, my wife and I (from upstairs) hear the crash, and the scream (more of a Luke "Nooooo! (That's impossible!)" than a Darth Vader (super-lame) "Noooooo"). Literally inconsolable, absolutely devastated. I was seriously considering stripping it right back down to zero, and starting over. It was bad. It took me several hours to reassemble the wreck, but I managed to follow the pics in the gigantic manual to get Humpty Dumpty back together. All was right with the world again.

Great shot, kid! That was one in a million. I mean, one in a totally-inevitable-because-that's-what-you-do-with-Lego. And then you get to put it back together! It's win-win!

Good luck with the recovery, AnimeJ. Your health plan is approved by me.

8 year old Autistics do not appreciate dis-order

That's the only acceptable exception to the law of Lego smashing.

Will you report back in 60 days, and tell us if it develops body depressions? I've also heard it called crowning. Every bed I've every had does this and it's the reason I can't sleep longer than about 6 hours.

I'm dying to find a bed that will last without that phenomenon. My last purchase had a pillow top, with means it can't be flipped over, just rotated. I don't think I'll do that again. This one looks like it also will always be one side up.

As benign as talking about your matress sounds, I actually would like to hear your review.

Ghost, we got (back in December) a Beautyrest Black Hannah mattress. It's called a couple different things but also borders on the "I'm spending WHAT for this mattress?" area. Overall I love it and have had no problems. Then again, when we were trying out mattresses at the store we talked to a lot of people who were doing the same thing. Others absolutely love the one we picked, others hated it. I guess to each their own but being a side/stomach sleeper I can say I've never slept better.

Review here

It also has the NxG memory foam. I just learned that when looking up what I can find on the mattress. Looks like it's also called the Daniella. We went with the "Plush Pillowtop" and not the firm one.

For me, the best is when

Spoiler:

the death star teeters off the table and disintegrates on the floor

Watching that, the Aspie in me flipped out a little at the thought of separating the two kits back out.

Lucky for you that you didn't watch the building process (I assume). I yelled at my computer screen a lot.

I'll be living the build process for the Super Star Destroyer in a day or two, probably once I don't have blood and nastiness draining out of my nose from surgery yesterday.

Was it such a silly purchase you decided to return it?

Perhaps...?

Silly? Perhaps. Awesome? Undoubtedly.

I'm going to break the rules since I already posted in here for March, but it's almost the end of the month.

Using a stock photo while I await delivery of my new M18X. It makes me sad that I'll have to wait until next month to get an SSD drive for it to really unleash it.

I just ruined my keyboard with sugary coke drool. Thanks.

Oooo. Let me know what you think. I have a m17x that's beginning to get a little long in the tooth. I came really close to buying the 18 over the holidays.

$4.38 plus free prime shipping from Amazon.

All told I think everything there put me out about $120, which is pretty darn good. Persona 2 was the most expensive game, at about $30 shipped.

This could have been in the Random Love or Random Loathe threads just as easily, but for now I'll just leave it here...

Still have to go through close, but offer made and accepted.

That may be the greatest house ever...

Thanks! But we're not buying it as a house, although one of our competing candidates was thinking of doing that. It's actually an Inn, which is what we're going to be doing with it too.

When I saw the picture, my first thought was: that's no house; that's a fortress!

So, when is the first GWJ S&T going to be?

I know which goodjer's I'm heading to when the zombie apocalypse hits!

Would you be surprised if I said I've already got the first S&T/Con in planning?

No doubt! I'm going to have to do something about those first floor glass windows though, bit of a weak spot when it comes to grasping zombie hordes there.

Wrought iron bars or motion-triggered auto-cannons.
Maybe both, just to be sure.

How can it NOT have a moat.

I think you won the thread, Teneman.

You bought a castle? I'm sooooo jealous.
