Post a Picture of Your Silly Purchase of the Month.

Who says rhythm games are dead?

Activision does, but I say they're full of it. Mrs AnimeJ's getting the keyboard and flowers for Valentine's Day

Which is silly, because I already own Castle Ravenloft. But now they can keep each other company when I'm not home!

Oooohhhh. Let me know how that works for ya, been interested in that mouse for a while.

This is not a silly purchase but I will post here anyway.

Just bought an EOTech 512 for my AR today.

Found it at Dunhams Sports for $419, but they had a 20% off coupon in their flyer; so I paid $357 out the door.

Yay for tax refunds! I will put up better pics once I take it out and zero it; more pics of the AR then too.

Also posted in the firearms thread.

Red dot sites are silly.

Your silly! I am getting too old for peep sites.

As a Canadian, this kind of stuff continues to shock me.

Well, y'all have probably heard me complain by now about how I just can't adjust to a 360 controller after using mouse/keyboard for so long. Well, determined to finally make headway against my 360 pile, I broke down and bought this...

What's the verdict on this? Does it work well? I've been really curious about it because I'd love to have a mouse/nunchuck combo.

Well as long as its shocking enough to keep Canada from attempting to invade us then we'll keep on doing it

It's okay, we already know how to beat them when they do (1st comic)

So, Bryan Adams, canoes, and politeness... yeah, sounds about right.

The perfect storm.

Why don't we just annex Canada already?

Puerto Rico was down with it.

Kinda disappointing. It works, sort of, but not well.

I was playing with it yesterday and here's a few glitches I hit. First, on a controller, if you push the right stick to the right, you keep turning right. With this you move the mouse to the right. So you move right, stop, pick up the mouse, move it back to the left side of the pad and move it right again. So you can't smoothly turn around which is bad when something is attacking you from behind (I was playing Alan Wake with it). Maybe I can tweak a setting for sensitivity somewhere but I didn't find it. There is also a slight lag between my moving the mouse and seeing the reaction on screen.

It also occasionally lost signal and I had to just stand there for a half-second or so until it reacquired it.

Sometimes I would move the mouse right and it would register a button press on the A button. (My thumb tended to rest on that button.) Which is odd because I would sometimes have to jam the B button a couple of times before it would register. I don't know if this is endemic or just a flaw with my unit.

The nunchuck unit works better except the trigger buttons sometimes don't seem to register immediately.

I'll keep playing with it to see if it is just something I need to get used to or not.

One other thing. For some reason the unit won't work by itself; you must have a wired controller to go with it. The receiver dongle comes with a USB adapter; you plug it into the XBox then plug the wired controller into it. (That's mainly why I had a delay between the time I bought it and the time I tried to use it; I had to find a wired controller.) I'm not sure why that requirement exists. It's clearly spelled out in the docs but not mentioned on the box or anywhere else.

Woo we actually got a bonus at work this year, so I allowed myself one silly purchase. My totally unnecessary Kindle will be here Monday!

Its a new month so I made a new purchase. Check my new pistol grip crossbow.

We made so many holes in our college apartment walls with that thing.

What kind of damage do you think that would do to a pigeon? We have a pair that have been hanging around in our tree and I don't want them there.

20lb test crossbow so I'm thinking it would kill them. Might want to try an airsoft or a slingshot too.

blowgun... its more exotic and if you kill it then you can say "yeah, i've killed with this" and it seems so much more awesome. My brother had one in college and they had a strategically placed picture to hide the hundreds of holes caused by it.

I've always wanted one of those. Damn my joblessness.

Haha. I had one of those. Come to think of it, it's probably still in my old closet at my parents house. Never did fire straight really.

Ooh, how much? I need more buttons. And does it come in red?

EDIT: damn 70-80 bucks. Hurry up people enable. Also, spill a coke on my Diamondback.

Please, MX518 for life.

It's down right terrifying. I have friends in the Canadian army so i have been around various automatic rifles, but taken out of the military context? I want nothing to do with it.

Puerto Rico was down with it. ;)

I'm in secret negotiations with the bears to start an insurrection against the imperial might of the Canadian government. Seems they are mostly terrified of inanimate objects so a few bears should be able to scare them all the way into the Atlantic.

All they ask is a lift time supply of hunny.

We'll never annex Canada as to do so would require us to give citizenship to millions of French speakers.

My silly purchase this month was $200 worth of frames and matting for three prints that totaled $50 after shipping.
