Post a Picture of Your Silly Purchase of the Month.

Placeholder for the item I just won on Ebay.

EDIT: I could have waited to post this, but I'm just too excited to get my Logitech MOMO steering wheel, bought off Ebay for $50 including shipping! Granted, it's not the a G25, but it is also not $300!! So excited!

Oh, MTG. It's such a fun game with so many unnecessary problems, key among them the need to buy and buy and buy and buy... My dad would buy boxes as well, open them in the store, and then go and buy more boxes.

It would defeat the whole purpose for them and I'm sure you could buy this on ebay, but they should just put out a set of all the cards from some edition with 4 of each plus about 40 of each color land for some amount like $100 - $200. For 4th edition, that would be about 1600 cards. That should be enough to play the game indefinitely and allow you to make all sorts of decks. I'm sure the cards themselves are all basically worthless especially the older editions, so it's not as if they couldn't make money. They are just paper after all.

You have no idea how jealous I am right now. I am getting back into racing games and have a very, very strong desire to buy a wheel of some kind. Perhaps a perusal of Ebay and Craig's list is in order...

Actually, I found a second MOMO wheel going for $50 Buy It Now with free shipping the moment my auction ended.

EDIT: That one is gone, but here's another that's a pretty good deal as well.

So, I just bought a Leapers/UTG Tactical Messenger Bag. It's pretty much a direct ripoff of the Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack, but it cost about 1/3 of the Maxpedition.

One thing that I really like about it is the pocket towards the back of the bag. There's some velcro strips inside, so I ordered a Maxpedition Universal holster that velcros in there, and will hold my pistol.

Of course, I'm trying to find stuff to put in the bag. I've got a knife, my Leatherman, a tool kit for my Leatherman, a towel, a small first aid/survival kit, some pens and pencils, a flashlight (6P knockoff), my pistol and an extra mag.

I also noticed, that the bag has several attachment spots for MOLLE pouches. So I just ordered $40 worth of MOLLE pouches to go with the bag. More pics once the pouches arrive.

Thanks to the sketchy nature of the 3rd party transactions through Amazon for MtG purchases I've actually done some hunting for a more specialized vendor and may have found a winner.
No direct link because I can't vouch for them (yet), but CoolStuffInc sounds extremely promising.
They even feature a pack that includes 4 of every card (including mythic rares) of the current set... but for just a little more than $100-$200.

That is a bad ass messenger bag Bennard!

Hmm.... should you really be putting your pistol in a bag? Is this the new bicycle hunting sport I've heard about?

bennard, it's not really "tactical" unless it has a forend pistol grip and flashlight attached.

Coolstuffinc.com is really great. Great customer service too. I order all of my board games from them.

It was raining and I needed a new hat, so I stopped into H&M... with sexy results!

Well, y'all have probably heard me complain by now about how I just can't adjust to a 360 controller after using mouse/keyboard for so long. Well, determined to finally make headway against my 360 pile, I broke down and bought this...

I felt a little silly ordering these today, hopefully the Amazon reviews are right and I won't feel so silly after running in them:

"ExOfficio Give N' Go Briefs"

Boy, if someone had told me four years ago that I would not only be running 20-30 miles a week, but also buying special underwear for it, I would have squirted Twinkie filling out of my nose.

With those underwear, I'm not so sure it would be Twinkie filling...

This comment made all the more amusing by your tag.

I totally shouldn't have... but hey... I deserve a graduation present.

I totally read that post with the picture of the shorts preceding it. Scary.

Edit: Never mind. The Rift picture didn't load when I read the post. Once I responded it somehow did. Doh!

These are one of many reason's I shouldn't be allowed to leave home with any form of money. That said, best damn headphones I've ever owned.

Bought this:

Which is silly, because I already own Castle Ravenloft. But now they can keep each other company when I'm not home!

And having sex in my ears :O

I've seen far too many pics of awesome beer. Unless it's a dimestore malt liquor, beer is NEVER a silly purchase!

The two I bought yesterday were definitely silly. One was a 9.2% barley wine, and the other was an 11.2% belgian ale.

Neither was particularly nice.

Add the toe shoes everyone is talking about and you'll quite the outfit.

I got a mechanical keyboard and a Kindle with a case that has a LED light. Both things I don't need at all. But man, this keyboard is glorious. So click clacky. CLICK CLACK!

Is this the kind with the click at the top of the throw, so you don't have to push the key all of the way down, and press hard against the bottom? Which is supposed to lead to repetitive use injury.

I don't think so as it's not hard at all to press the keys. They just feel different, a more satisfying feedback when pressed. I think the OG mechanical keyboard was the old IBM Model M but nowadays they are less common because they are loud and are more expensive to make.

Loving it!

While I realize that my opinions on beer carry no weight, I think that Kindles are also awesome and probably should be exempt from the thread on those grounds
