I hoping to get a pair of Vibram Five Fingers this weekend. Could be considered a stupid purchase depending on how much I wear them.

I went to a local Blue Ridge Mountain Sports store today and picked up a pair of Vibram Five Fingers (Black KSO Model - $85). I'm going to break them in slowly around the house and then start working out with them next week. They feel great on the feet but are going to take some time getting used to. It's a little strange having the toes seperated and the picky toe is uncooperative so it takes time to put them on.

On a side note, my wife went with me and thought I was a freak for buying them. I had to promise not to wear them out of the house so hopefully they'll grow on her in due time. :-)

I like the idea of working out and hiking in something like these. I'm very curious what your impressions are after a few days of use.

Don't go straight from normal hiking boots to Vibrams. Rough terrain will absolutely wreck your sh*t if your feet aren't used to not having any padding. It was hard enough to jog on pavement at first.
Also, unsurprisingly, Vibrams smell horrible after just moderate usage. Living in a dorm I have to wash them regularly and still put them in a sealed tub so that my dorm doesn't smell like foot. The toe areas also tend to accrue dead skin that you'll really want to make sure you remove.

That's why you wear athletic toe socks.

he done did it.... MAN POWER

Besides, who is going to question a guy who might be holding a sharp pointy weapon?

From the avatar, and this pic, does Blotto have a Wilson The Neighbour persona going on?

Yeah... generally if he says he bought a pointy or sharp object/weapon, he probably did.

I clearly need constant adult supervision.

(Note: Nerf guns, keyboard, beer (Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA), and Bose Companion 5 Speakers. Yes, we got a new gig recently.)

Do preorders count? Cause I preordered three DS games coming out in the next couple months: Dragon Quest 6, Okamiden, and Pokemon White.

This all sounds sufficiently horrifying :). I've worn my "all-terrain" Crocs on the last two backpacking trips I've been on, and they have served me quite well. The largest disadvantage to the Crocs I have is that they pick up pine needles and other debris and manage to weasel it into the tender areas on my feet. I think I'll run to REI and check these out.

You clearly need to come over to my house after school.

It's a new month soon guys, start prepping your February 2011 silly purchases!

I didn't even buy anything silly this month! I did buy the Forza 3 Ultimate Collection, but I thought that was a very economical and reasonable purchase.

Why would you buy a Kinect if you don't have a TV or an xbox? You have a table. That's it.

Just makes it more silly, doesn't it?

God, what a loser. Point and laugh at the loser! Point and laugh!!!

I would point and laugh, but I'm giving bnpederson the benefit of the doubt and hoping that's a crazy awesome TV mounted on the wall. That or a picture frame containing a painting of an undead Napoleon (the Bonaparte, not the Dynamite.)

I'm confused... The movie posters are backwards... do you live Australia?

I'm tagging this....I think I'll be full time soon and then let the silly purchases begin!

Bought this yesterday, so it counts as my January silly purchase. To sit beside my December silly purchase, the GTO.

I bought a new pair of swim shorts to replace the too-big and outrageously baggy shorts I was using. That was like swimming with a huge fabric sail tied to your waist.

Swim short technology has clearly come a long way since I last bought some, because these new ones are so tight they're bordering on pornographic.

So no pictures for you!

Ummm... That's not "swimsuit technology"; that's called "buying the wrong size".

I just purchased something. Should arrive on Friday!

Does she inflate automatically or do you have to blow her up manually?

I purchased some of the Walgreens house brand Big Flats beer at 50 cents a can.

It was not terrible. I am not blind. It was, however, silly.

I am intrigued!

Good thing I can walk the block to the Walgreen's if I'm short on things to do during OMG SNOW HAPPENS SOMETIMES.

No, she arrives Saturday.

I wanted a stereo with an Aux In and a USB in. This has a USB cable that comes out of that pocket under the stereo (through a hole I drilled) where I can connect a USB drive, MP3 player, or SD Card Adapter (as shown).

The unit is kind of cheap, but this is the first I installed and the process went fairly well. After reviewing the manual, it pretty much does what I want it to do, although the buttons on the left are really shoddy.

... My girlfriend and I have gotten back into MtG so I bought a booster box (actually two now, still waiting for the refund for the first one since they shipped a fat pack instead).
... And the new set just released today so she has threatened to buy us some Fat Packs of that.
... to sit next to the thousands of cards I have, virtually unplayed, sitting in boxes.

Consumer whores.

No Planeswalkers so we might 'cheat' and order some singles.
