Post a Picture of Your Silly Purchase of the Month.

I finally got my Cirkul bottles and tried out two of the flavors (Fruit Punch, and Mocha Coffee). The [caffeinated] coffee flavor is a lot stronger than I expected it to be - I actually got a bit of caffeine jitters after drinking 1 full bottle's worth, and I never get caffeine jitters. I like the design of the flavor pods, in that it's a fresh new nipple with each pod means not having to worry about them getting all gunky or chewed up or whatever, as has happened with reusable water bottles that my kids have used.

I had my oldest try it out as well, without telling her the secret first ("it's just a regular bottle of tap water"). She said she felt like Jesus. I approved.

I got mine a week ago. I've tried three flavors so far: coconut pineapple, lemon, and tangerine orange. So far, I dislike the tangerine orange the least. I will try one more order, with some of the stevia flavors instead of the sucralose ones, but otherwise, it's a naw from me, dawg. I don't tolerate caffeine well, and what's left is overpriced Crystal Light.

Silly because... well, there's no way I *need* to finish and assemble my own guitar.

Still undecided on the colour... I'm going to stain it green. Or blue. Or blue-green. Or purple.

I bought a Sonos Roam! It’s my first Sonos product.

I’ve been getting pretty frustrated with my Echos lately so I wanted to try an AirPlay speaker and it works great so far. I love that I can stream easily from any device and remotely control the volume too. The dumbest/fun feature I love is that I’ve been using my Apple Watch to play/pause by tapping the screen and rolling the crown to adjust audio.

Plus it works with all of the qi chargers we have littered around the house.

Oh, that's awesome. I have been thinking about building my own guitar as well just because.. well, it's doable with those kits. Let me know how your experience is with it! Also purple is the best color.

Thanks for providing for my continued employment! Hope you like it.

Will do (possibly even make a thread for it). So far it's just been "unpack the kit, check everything is there and seems to fit properly and fail to decide on a colour."

I didn't NEED this for my blue Honda Fit (which has been called a Cardis by some), but as soon as I saw it I wanted it so badly.

I have a frame around my plate that says, "It's bigger on the inside."

My son, 11, has expressed desire to start building some strength. He's kind of scrawny and a 45lb olympic bar is going to bury him on a squat or bench. On a side note, he can deadlift it from a rack pin pull...

Latest addition to the home gym.

Is that Mullah Nasruddin?

Edit: it can only be, so feel free to ignore as I don't had to delete this message

A few years ago I found out there was a statue of Darth Vader in his meditation chamber. I've wanted one all that time, but never was quick enough to buy the thing in between bouts of wondering whether I should not.

I found two on eBay in the last few days. The picture above is from the seller I *didn't* use, as the cost of postage from Canada to the UK was just too much for me. But he was kind enough to go and figure out the postage costs when I asked so I wanted to link to him here.

The listing says there is a scratch on the lid. I didn't mind as the lid would always have been up and I'm not a 'collector'. If you think it's cool or you been in the market for one this is a good price.

Vader meditation chamber from a chap called grizzly sales on eBay

There will be a Lego set of this coming out soon of this if you hang on!

Even after an hour of sincere searching, I could find nothing I was compelled to purchase on Prime Day. Perhaps my strategy of answering “Cambridge Analytica” on all those quizzes is working

I saw that online while searching for the statue. It does look good and if I was a Lego collector I'd be sorely tempted though the statue is really the thing I wanted. T thank you for letting me know about it.

I actually have a Topps trading card "film cell relic" of Vader in his chamber. I can't remember if I bought that before I found out about the statue or in lieu of the statue a few years ago.

I have toy-version of that from around the time the prequels came out. The outside is the Death Star and the inside is the meditation chamber. The interior is not nearly as nice looking though.

I haven't heard of that so I went and looked it up. It made me imagine a Spinal Tap Stonehenge type situation where somebody delivers a tiny Death Star to Vader. I think if I had one, that thought would always cheer me up when I looked at it.

In a few weeks my family is renting an RV and driving quite some distance to visit other family. I just now bought this:

That is such a dad thing to buy.

I think I’ll wear it at work too. After the road trip is over. My job can be dirty and I certainly don’t want to muss this hat before the trip. I drive tractor-trailer.

Between my kids and I, we have a decent collection of costume hats. I had been wearing them in zoom meetings to spice things up. Now that the delta variant is coming on strong I might get to wear the captain’s hat on zoom sometime.

Nice.

Technically it's not "of the month" as I've spent the last 4 months sourcing all the different parts. Some of this stuff is super hard to get right now. But it's done and ready to go. Now I just need to name her...

Sounds like you should make a "Name my boat" thread!

Blue Boaty
Boaty McBoatface
Floatation Device

23% of boats are named Boaty McBoatface.

Is this some hybrid of a raft and cataraft?

I would say that "moist" should be somewhere in the name.

Nah, just a pretty standard 14' raft with a rowing/cargo frame.

Clearly it needs to be called The Derriere.

I've also got a 3'x5' jolly roger on order for it. No idea how I'm going to mount it though, but that's what afternoons at home depot are for!
