Post a Picture of Your Silly Purchase of the Month.

There is total lack of silly in this thread. I'll bring the silly.

I like drinking from weird things like the skulls of my enemies.

you have very small enemies.

I'm going to cheat here a bit and use an internet picture since I forgot to snap one of my own. Bought a new TV! It's been 10 years and the old one was giving up the ghost so used my bonus to snag a new one.

Samsung 65":

Side note. Thought the old TV was 55" and so going to 65" is a nice, but not insane jump. It was only when we removed the old one and compared it to the box that I realized we had a 46". Soooooo just jumped about 20" in screen size. This thing is freaking huge.

Spent close to 2 hours punching out all the pieces, sorting them into bags, and going over the rule book:

And this represents only half of what we spent at the game store...

Uh. Obviously a board game of some sort, presumably an strategy/RPG, but what board game is it?

That, my dear summer child, is Gloomhaven.

*sigh*

I wish my circle of friends would be into such an undertaking. No such luck. We are about to start a semi-regular "game night" and while dominoes and Rummikub are looking most likely, I am starting to gain a little traction with my agitation for Pandemic. The cooperative nature has a couple of folk interested.

edit to add:

Looks like there's a mod of it for Table Top Simulator...

Oy. Sounds dire. Do you live in a retirement community or something?

...In terms of actual "helpful comments", Pandemic is a great start and has gotten big enough to enter the general consciousness. If they do bite, try playing with open hands for a couple games. Ticket To Ride still holds up as well!

The iOS version of Ticket To Ride is what my game night crew play when we can't be bothered to play a chewy game around a table.

Watching a LOT of YouTube of Gloomhaven seems to weigh in on “2-4 players” that 4 players is probably too many. My family are unlikely (read: unwilling) to play it, and my other 2 (boardgame) friends are probably, also, unlikely - they’re way too into (bi-)weekly Axis & Allies to be lured away, I suspect. I’m going to try to get my 15yo to play, though.

Sort of: St Petersburg, Florida - where the average age is dead [Actually not true any more, but pretty accurate 10 years ago]. We are all retired, it's just that I'm the only game player. Funnily enough, the next closest to a game player plays Ticket To Ride on her iPad.

While I hope they'll be interested in Pandemic (I have second release of the first version), I don't hold out too much hope.

ooooh! That seems perfectly suited for my interests!

you'd be silly not to buy that.

Yeah, definitely not silly.

I dunno. Snap back hats are pretty silly.

Must be my frustration at not being able to buy these monsters when they got out...

Finally got fed up having to wear headphones to listen to music at my desk at home while I work, so I bought this to be able to use some bookshelf speakers I had sitting around unused from my entertainment center pre-kids.

Evidently, the chip used in this thing is no longer being made and is the best you can get in something of this price level / size and form.

I used to have a set of Klipch promedia 2.1's but something went wrong so that every time I put a new fuse in, it gets blown. So this works great as it's a small and simple device. And now I can listen to music and not be saddled with something stuck to my head!

My first brand-new Nintendo console. I wasn't expecting a tax refund this year, so when I found out I was getting some money back, I went full-on "treat yo'self".

Nice! Now get yourself Breath of the Wild.

This x 100!

I finally started playing it this year and it's been amazing.

I'd also suggest Pokemon Lets Go. Me and my kid have been having fun with it.

A Vita? Yep a 2000 or type b model. It is super scratched on the touch pad and dirty but the front is clean and buttons are working. Two screen protectors; front and back.

Awww yeah. I love my white JP Vita 2000.

It's only a third of the cost of a Framemeister, but it's also just for one system, so pretty silly.

Playing Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, even with the official component cables and progressive scan enabled, was irritatingly blurry on a modern TV. Excited to see how much this improves the image quality!

You guys I am so happy right now.

Obligatory

Oh no, the Rifftrax of Megaforce has disappeared! I was gonna suggest y'all watch it.

I own it, and it's hilarious! Sadly, they lost the rights to sell it sometime within the last year.

Yes it's wonderful. It's the way I got my wife to finally watch the movie with me. I hope it comes back so more folks can see it.

Finally did this: IMAGE(https://i.ibb.co/0Yrg5fM/IMG-20190304-162408661.jpg)

Not a fantastic photo, but I've mounted both the PS4 and Switch behind my TV and it looks great. Way less cable mess.
