Post a Picture of Your Silly Purchase of the Month.

The price on the LLBean ones isn't cheap, but they last ages. I've been wearing the pair I have on now for six years, and they're still in great shape.

Those LL Bean slippers are just the best. I've been wearing mine for years. I love being able to take a trip to the mailbox with them on. I even accidentally left for work with them on one time (I caught myself and turned around). My only complaint is that without socks, they make my feet sweaty really quickly, and the fur inside wore off under my heel and the ball of my feet. Otherwise, they're worth every penny.

I had a similar issue with other fur lined slippers, you can get sheep skin inserts to replace the sole as they wear out. Very comfy and only 9 or 10 dollars to get some padding in again every 6 months or so.

I regret nothing and have had my quoddys resoled once (after 3 years of use and abuse walking to work).

I can just see the conversation right now.

Me: I really love these new slippers.... Honey, why is there a chair on a tarp in the middle of the living room.
Her: Have a seat.

It's about priorities, that's all.

There's still plenty of actual padding, just the fur is gone. Which doesn't actually make much difference, since the sweaty issue means I'm always wearing socks anyway.

My priority is moccasins and I have no regrets.
**EDIT**
Quoddy has a deal on double slipper purchases till tomorrow. Just buy a second pair for your wife paleocon.

Do you have a link to where I could buy these?

I bought an RV. I have never taken an RV trip before in my life, but jumped in with both feet, and will be driving this bad boy back from Austin, TX to the SF Bay Area over the next 4 days with my wife and 3 kids. Wish me luck!

Congrats! Here's your big rule: don't rush! That's when bad things happen. Happy RV'ing!

Bad things DO happen. The thread image for the Camping thread is of the passenger side of our camper for a reason...

I bought a PA system. This was the whole kit, bought from a regularly touring band. It included 2 amps, mixing board controlled with an iPad, 2 subs, 2 PA speakers, cases, all the cords you can handle, monitors, additional small PA speakers, microphones, drum snake, DJ mixing board, lights, and drum lights. It's literally everything you need. No extras necessary.

This definitely was a silly purchase but one that I hope, in time, is worth the money. I've been playing with a band in my basement for a couple of years. This coming year we now have an excuse to get out of the basement and play some shows. This system sounds great and I can't wait to get the whole band behind it.

My oldest son is also hoping to do some DJ gigs and now has more than enough equipment to do it. I actually think he would be quite good at it. Music (theory, production, teaching) will be part of his college career. Also, built in sound man!

Amazon or Google sheep skin insoles! It will change your life.

I know Ugg makes some insoles like that but they might be closer to $20. My wife buys them for her boots.

Just a quick update: We made it back from Austin TX with no issues! After everything Rawk went through I took his advice VERY seriously and we cruised along at a safe speed the whole way. Definitely no regrets on this purchase, and I can't wait to take "Jumbo", as we have affectionately named him, out for some camping trips! I'll be sure to head over to the other thread and post there for our next trip.

Yep. Silly.

Remarkably, it offers far more physical protection than the armor in the movies.

It makes me sad that there were never any practical props made of clone trooper armor. Thanks, George.

Fun, you joining the 501st?

Your power converters arriving from Toshi before Christmas?

Working from home in my basement dungeon requires accommodation.

Fun fact, I work for L.L.Bean and someone on my team did that image. They really should have masked out the shearling on the top better...

Quoddys are the best. I've had a pair of suede bluchers for four years and worn them a lot, still going strong. They at least had a made-to-order program where you could spec out the shoe and they'd make it, I've been considering getting a pair from there.

Eventually! Clone Troopers can actually join the 501st AND the Rebel Legion!

Then I should probably tell you that the placement of the product tag directly in the arch of BOTH slippers was not a wise one. I will probably cut them out, but even doing so is trickier than it looks because of the placement in a seam on the inside of the shoe with shearling. I would just rip them out, but am concerned it may damage the seam.

L.L. Bean slippers are great. You just can't go wrong.

Been about a month now, but we bought a new(old) house and are currently trying to sale our other house. Having two mortgages is no fun, but I'm not regretting the decision yet.

Very nice! Looks well maintained which is always the key. What part of Ohio?

I see a ghost.

Love that house
