Post a Picture of Your Silly Purchase of the Month.

I can't wait till I move into the house that will be my "permanent" house. I have held off on doing all sorts of nerdy upgrades I want to do. That August Smart Lock is high on my list.

I saw a company that used this technique to make coffee tables out of raw old reclaimed wood and aluminium pourings. Gorgeous.

Back on the silly purchase train:

Keypad entry is AWESOME.

That is not a silly purchase. Those things are fantastic. No more keys. No more worrying about keys when you go running. No more losing keys. Kids can get in any time. We have that exact model. Love it. When it dies it will be replaced with another. Never going back to keys.

Yep. We have the same one too. It's great, especially when I go biking during lunch. I've now added something similar to our camper.

If you're on my PSN list, you know I haven't really touched it in 6 months.

For some reason, I just bought an xbox one. I have no idea why.

I always wanted one but stayed away because I assumed they needed direct power like a strike. Had no idea they were battery operated.

Something to rest your feet on while you play Marvel Puzzle Quest?

I got one of them last year. They are great. I hope you enjoy it. I hope your car buying experience wasn't as terrible as mine.

I love my manual 2013 Mazda 3. My only regret was not getting the 2014 model for a little bit more.

My experience was fantastic, but I might be biased. My salesman is a good friend of mine. He's been waiting almost 10 years to ditch my old car (I had it for 14 years, he's been at the dealership almost 10 or more) so I think he was happy I bit the bullet and bought one.

I decided to name the car Maximilian and he even went and had a custom decal made and put on the back window AND "adoption" papers for me, him, and the finance guy to sign. So I was pretty damn giddy when he took that picture

Wow, that's a salesman who knows how to build loyalty! That probably took him 10 minutes to do, but now if he's ever selling something you need, I'm sure you'll go to him. Good job to your friend!

Call me cynical, but I bet the guy doesn't do all that for every single customer, and only did it for Trachalio because they are good friends.

Probably But he definitely makes a point of taking a picture of everyone with their new car and emailing it to them with links to info about their new car. I can see him doing the certificate for someone else if they said they'd already named their vehicle. The sticker was definitely because he and I are good friends

Bought another one of them car thingys.

Did not intend to get this when I stepped out the door this evening, but, here it is.

Awesome!

Cool ink, NSMike! What was the inspiration for modeling the solar system like that?

How all the best tattoos start.

Cue NSMike having a full sleeve in about 5 years...

Looks great man!

To be clear, I was only going to make an appointment, but they weren't busy and said they could do it right then, so... Why not?

Well, I wanted a solar system that was fairly compact and minimalistic, but still recognizable. My roommate, toph513, does graphic design, so I took that to him and gave him some reference images, including one of a pendant someone was wearing. The idea for this design came from the pendant.

EDIT:

Here's the pendant:

The Dirt Devil vacuum that came with my pool 3 years ago (that connects to the pool's pump/filter system and moves using a pulsing action) just started losing suction after only a few minutes, so I figured it was time to upgrade to a robotic vacuum. I went with the Dolphin Nautilus.

Man, no love for Boogle the Super Trooper. Tough crowd.

Sorry, I stole your thunder with the tattoo.
