Palin Begins Exploratory Bus Tour: To Anchorage or Bust

Pages

It looks like she has started a nation wide Exploratory campaign.

This is my favorite comedic punchline from the article:

unintended humor wrote:

According to aides who have traveled with her on past campaigns, Palin loathes fundraisers and many of the other necessities of life on the trail...

I, for one, am thrilled by this development. If Bachmann jumps in as well, the Republican primaries could be very entertaining.

Exploratory? Has she not 'explored' the current polling that shows her getting crazy low numbers ... from Republicans?

That woman loves fame & attention. I doubt she has any hope whatsoever of winning anything except more spotlight time.

P.S. I hate you, John McCain, for unleashing this moron onto the American public.

In her defense, that defines about half the current GOP lineup right now.

I say she should have at it. She won't get my vote, but I am looking forward to the entertainment. And for Team Red, she does have the benefit of making most people (Trump, you're not included) look less insane next to her.

Please let her run. Oh, please. I can almost hear John Stewart and Stephen Colbert squealing with glee at the possibility.

As I said in the Guinness thread (screw Pigpen for using a legendary beer to name such a dumb topic):

The election will be the equivalent of the Sony Haterade thread.

If she keeps "thinking about it" she can keep raising money.

As in, like, girl-on-girl MILF porn entertaining?

I think I lost about 20 IQ points watching that video, thanks a lot Jayhawker.

I'm fairly certain my 12 year old son could speak more eloquently than Palin. The look of utter confusion when she was asked about the "Bush Doctrine" was priceless. What in God's name makes her think she's even remotely qualified to sit in the oval office? The only thing worse was that prick Hannity staring at her with those puppy dog eyes. I'm surprised he didn't just drop to the floor and start licking her feet!

A Bachman/Palin debate would be fodder for comedians for the next decade.

Is she going to quit half way through?

Well, there's a "Nailin' Palin" video; I guess somebody needs to make "Rockin' Bachmann".

I just think I threw up in my mouth a little.

I'm going to love that part of the campaign, when they ask her how quitting in the middle of her term as governor of Alaska has helped her become a better candidate. It's going to be so awesome.

I'm waiting to hear about how her complete inability to hear any criticism at all qualifies her to be President.

That is one thing I admired about Bush the second. He never let his critics seem to get at him. He would always just give a little smirk and move on. I guess it could be that he didn't understand that he was being insulted.

If the offer is lucrative enough, sure.

Btw, I'm looking forward to hearing more about this book.

Okay - read part of the article. That makes more sense. Well, as much sense as this whole thing does anyway.

I was trying to figure out why a trip to Anchorage from Wasilla was such a big deal; it's like 30 miles.

The trick is she's going to try to count to 20 by the time they get to Anchorage, and she's going to LEAVE HER SHOES ON!!!!!

Over/under 555 uses of the word 'Maverick' on Meet the Press this Sunday?

My favorite Palin video is the speech she gave after Rep. Giffords was shot (the one that was mostly about how unfair it was that the media remembered her use of incendiary rhetoric).

It's nothing but her breathing, and I find it super creepy.

Her current favorite seems to be "good old fashioned American values", and how that's all she really cares about.

It frightens me to no end that there are actually people out there who would vote for this woman.

Dimmer- You know it's really unfair to Palin when you bring up what Palin has said in the past!

I'd watch her and Bachmann go at it. Of course my bar for porn is fairly low.

Clearly. They both look like they're sprayed with that glue Arby's puts on their display sandwiches.

Ha ha. That reminds me of Tina Fey on SNL imitating Palin.

"How dare you try to make me look foolish by quoting me ver batim"

I'm excited about this. It's like a field trip. It's never too late to learn US History, Sarah.

"good old fashioned American values"

ie, life as seen on television in the 1950s, where everyone was white and married and slept in separate beds.

With her, it's just marketing-speak. I don't think she believes the crap she spews any more than I do. She knows her rabid followers are the extreme-right tea-party uber-Christians who really believe she's a born-again soccer mom who's really only in it for the good of "Joe Six-Pack" and the fine 'workin' class folks of middle America". I think she's an off-the-deep-end narcissist deeply in love with the mirror and the sound of her own voice.

Oh, sure, but that's the fantasy she's painting -- a nice safe America where everyone is white and Christian and don't truck with that high-falutin' college nonsense. It means intolerance and ignorance and hypocrisy. It means retreating into simplistic thinking precisely when we most need brilliant and unorthodox solutions.

And it means hell on Earth if you were stupid enough to be born with significant amounts of melanin in your skin.

I'd like to see her and Bachmann square off because I think it's make Bachmann seem more normal qualified.

In honor of Jayhawker...I again invoke the legendary power of Guinness

as in...

I'd need to down about 12 pints of Guinness...
but then, I'd hit that!

(ok...I'd need some shots as well...I really despise both those women...I mean, for f*&^ sake, they are trying to make me vote Dem in the next presidential election...sigh...heretics...burn the witches...etc...ad inf...)

(PS - Jayhawker, I hope now when you drink your next Guinness, you think of an image, of Palin and Bachmann and...well...you get the idea...lol = BRILLIANT!)

Yeah. This is the kind of thing where my frustration with Obama runs into a brick wall of fear of one of these two being president. Are there any reasonable conservatives out there?
