DC Goodjers - National Pinball Museum?

I just found out about this today: http://www.nationalpinballmuseum.org/

Anyone in the DC area up for taking a trip over there? It's in Georgetown near Wisconsin and M St (specifically, 3222 M St NW), so not super metro accessible, although there are buses that will drop you off near there. Also, it's only open Thursday - Sunday. It's $13.50 most days, but on Thursday, you can pay $20 and get unlimited play on their machines.

What do you all think is the best deal? If people wanted to go on a Thursday night after work (although it's only open until 8 pm), that'd work for me just about any week. But if we want to go on a weekend, I'm free this weekend, and then not again until the first weekend in June.

As an out of the beltway Goodjer, it's tempting, but DC is a haul from here, especially with MaxShrek 2.0 currently incubating. The Asbury Park museum is nearest to me, but I've yet to check that one out.

I was going to go camping this weekend, but the forecast is making me reconsider that idea. I could be compelled to do it this weekend.

Taco, let me know if camping doesn't pan out. If not, we'll see who else we can rope into a trip this weekend.

I'd be down.. but this weekend is already filled up.. didnt realize that was even there and I was in Georgetown just yesterday around 3pm at the DMV.

It looks like Mrs. Taco and I will not be camping since there's a 70% chance of rain tomorrow night.

*Edit- Sunday would work best for me.

I can do Sunday. I'm about an hour east of the Bay Bridge, so I could make the trip without a huge hassle.

All right, any particular time on Sunday? Their hours that day are 12-6 pm.

Whenever. My weekend is actually free for once, so I don't have any urgent errands to attend to except "don't forget to shower and take out the dog".

Oh, and shall we get a drink after the museum? I'm assuming so. Most Goodjer events have at least one.

How does 3ish sound? That way we can putt around there for 2-3 hours and then grab some food/drinks?

3 is great for me. It looks like it'll be raining on and off all weekend, so be prepared for that in getting to/from the museum.

Can I join? I walked pass it just yesterday. It's in a mall on M Street, kinda tucked in the back. It's a moderately long walk from GWU/Foggy Bottom.

Huh, funny. I was there at that exact time. We might have walked past each other.

Absolutely, all Goodjers and friends of Goodjers are welcome to join in.

Sorry Thirteenth, Twelve and below only

3 pm is fine. I'll be wearing a emoticon drinking shirt that says ":ahoy:", but if anyone wants to trade cell phone numbers just PM me.

I'm going to send a tweet to the GWJ Grand Poobahs and see if they'll help spread the word.

I'm guessing we can buy tickets at the door, right? I just planned my trip, only an hour and a half from where I'm at so it's not too bad. However, I tried buying the admission on their site and the tickets are shipped to me, so obviously that's not an option.

I had no idea this was here. I probably can't go on Sunday but might try to swing by some other time.

Good question; I gave the museum a call, and yep, we can buy tickets at the door.

If anyone else is coming from the direction of Arlington, you can take the bus 38B towards Farragut Square (http://www.wmata.com/bus/timetables/...), and it'll drop you off at the intersection of M St & Wisconsin Ave, which is pretty much right where the museum is. That's my plan.

Anyone have the easy way to get to it if you are coming from the Bay Bridge? I was just going to huff it and hope for the best, but... y'know, I might get stabbed/mugged.

Unless I can walk right up to it, or park nearby enough that I don't have to take a chain of buses and metros.

If you go to here, you'll find parking information: http://www.nationalpinballmuseum.org...

Since it's raining tomorrow, that should help keep the crowds down, which might help you get street parking, but I wouldn't count on it.

Just got back from a dog show and am very tired. Put as down as maybes.

Just to confirm, the plan is, we'll meet at 3 pm inside the museum. I don't know what it's like inside; if necessary, I'll just hang around the entrance hall until some of you show up.

So that you'll be able to recognize me, I'm a skinny white guy who wears glasses, with brown hair, brown eyes. I'll be wearing a plain red shirt.

Have a great time The Bear Clan has to pass today

I'm rather sad that no one will be wearing a GWJ Stan shirt.

Jedi, Taco, and 13: I PMed you my phone number since I think I'll be getting there early. It's a nasty habit of mine to give myself ample driving time in case I run into traffic.

I'll have a thong on and a smile.

I've been going back and forth. I think I'm going to come. Not sure how late I'll stay though.

Woo, another sacrifi--er, Goodjer to hang with on a grey Sunday.

I want pics!!!

I think we can manage that. Thanks for the Twitter shout-out!
