Drawing / Sketching / Digital Painting

Procreate is one of the best I believe. I’ve not tried it in a while (not since a really early gen2 iPad version) but I remember it being pretty good.

I think it's iOS only though

Correct. Some Alternatives.

ah dang., didn't realise that. Can't really help then, sadly!

*sigh* oh for the days when i can actually afford a nice new tablet for drawing on

Thanks! No wonder I hadn't seen Procreate pop up in searches since it's iOS!

I think I'm going to try Autodesk Sketchbook. I keep seeing it come up in multiple places with good reviews/comments, and also, an Autodesk sketchbook type program came with my Wacom tablet for my PC, and if the Android version is anything like it, then we'll probably get along very well.

Of course, if anyone has any actual experience using any of the programs on the alternative list linked above, I would be all ears to hear about pros and cons!

I've been picking up some of my favorite artists and inking them. I started pen and paper and shifted to digital a couple of months back. I use Procreate for it. Here's a couple of time lapse videos

Anyone have any interest in me starting a weekly drawing prompt thread? I've been slacking on drawing, and I was thinking that committing to doing at least one drawing a week could be useful. If there's interest, I'll generate a prompt list, and post on Monday. We can share our creations and provide a bit of encouragement.

Any update on this? I'm eager to give it a shot

Also Harpo has started one for creative writing and clearly we can't let that stand without some sort of alternative response

* I can take charge and stick something together if you want (I have an idea that might be quite fun). But I don't want to steal your thunder otherwise!

About 30 minutes ago, just out of the blue, signed up for a beginning water color class being offered by my town's recreation department. Haven't really used watercolors before other than to just mess around with stuff, so thought it might be helpful for something.

I ALSO found an Android app that was made for artists to be able to sketch 3D models and the entire app was on GIRAFFES! Yay!!!

Spill the beans on the name of that app please

It's called....*drum roll*....Giraffe Mannequin!

Grabbed the Microns for this one. Helped make some very long conference calls tolerable.

Bryan Hitch Hawkman pencils.

y'know. I hadn't thought of that as a good way of practising inking. Hmm...

Bulk paper will eventually destroy the nibs on the pens. Just a word of caution. My brush pens are now trash. Holding off on using the new set.

It is fun, though...

It’s Jim Lee Batman time. Took me about 2 hours.

Anyone else up for the Inktober again this year?

Yup. Going to give it a shot once again.

Good keywords this year!

I've done it for the past four years in a row, so I'll probably do it again this year. I've only used the prompt list once, though (2017), and I'm not sure I'm going to use it this year, but we'll see...
