Drawing / Sketching / Digital Painting

The last 3 days of Inktober. Drool, Star and Exhausted. Apologies for the weird cropping.

No 9... "Lady of the Blades" Almost a third of the way there!

Just a quick one today, something doodled and unplanned in the time between classes at college.

This one did not go as planned. Tried intricate doodles with the dip pen, tricksy.

I made a small ragey friend for Minotaar.

Day 9: Cold Hands

Ouch. I thought I'd stretch myself a bit and try drawing cold hands in snow with the dip pens and brushes. I figured this would be tough, and well, it was. Fun to try though, and I felt a bit better in control of the dip pen today.

That hand is good!

Day 9 for me. Precious.

That IS a good hand!

Day 10 - "The Three Witches"

Bubblefuzz, Pyxi - Thank you!

Pyxi - You are just using white India ink on your darker paper? I like the range of contrast it gives the drawings, looking good!

Bubblefuzz - Now that you've done a few drawings with the dip pens, are you still liking them? Yesterday felt much easier for me in terms of control, and I didn't get the splattering I was running into on the first day. I'm still not comfortable with them, but it feels like it's getting better.

I'm excited for some drawing pens to arrive today and tomorrow. After one lost shipment, and one delayed shipment, both sets should finally arrive in the next day or so.

it's opaque white highlighter ink, but yeah. forgot i had a pad of the darker paper lying around.

Yeah still liking the dip, it'll take plenty of practice for me to to use well I think. At the moment comfy with sketching quickly with it, but if I wanted more control to do a usual doodle or something like that, right now would switch back to tech pen... I wasn't happy with dip pen doodling for day 8, star. Also I've not switched the nib yet, think I'll experiment with that before breakfast tomorrow for the Flow prompt.

We're doing well, just about a third through, good going all.

Good to hear. I'm enjoying them as well, and want to stick with it.

I'm having way more fun with this than I imagined I would. And today I got reinforcements. This will be a step up from a pen and sharpie...

Day 10: Fragile

I stuck with the dip pen and brushes today. I thought the water would be the easy part.

between homework, dogsitting and running D&D in an hour or so, i've not had the time to do anything today so i'll have to double up tomorrow or over the weekend. *fingers crossed*

I reckon the next two prompts (Wizard King and Dragon Queen) work well together, so i might just kill two birds with one stone.

With packing tonight, I don't know if I will be able to post one for today's Inktober and I definitely won't be creating and posting while I am in Europe starting tomorrow evening until Sunday the 20th when we fly back into the States. I will pick it back up then.

That precious is quality cuteness cartoonin.

A missed day for me too. I'll have to catch up with flow and cruel tomorrow. I hadn't kept an eye on prompt list when I doodled precious, I suppose I could just post it again for flow :)... nah.

Wow, looks like a rough day for the GWJ crew!

I've got a busy evening as well but I'm hoping to squeeze mine in still.

So I learned why you don't use a cheap marker for a black field. This looks terrible. I actually started another one that is coming along much better, but it's a much bigger undertaking than I thought. IMAGE(https://i.imgur.com/e5aPmtV_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium)

We're making a GWJ Day 11 comeback on this side of the pond!

I had that happen with an earlier drawing too. I really like the drawing you did yesterday though. Fun to look at.

Inktober Day 11: "What are we fighting for?"

I tried out the new Staedler pens tonight. I like the variety of thicknesses. I think these will be fun to draw with going forward. A big step up from my previous pen.

I was far too tired to do much today so I just did a quick doodle to catch up, by sticking two prompts together...

Ignore the bit at the right

Your "quick doodle" is freaking outstanding.

So I've been playing around with stippling lately, and really liking the results. But good GOD does it take forever.

oh yeah. sure does!

Good if you want to just zone out for a bit though.

That is amazing trichy!
You will convince Certis he can draw any day now

My girlfriend has been doing some Inktober drawings and gave me the okay to share them here if I wanted so here's a couple:

Whoa! Mad skilz! Those are impressive! Share more!

Inktober Day 12: "Two are Better than One"

This prompt had me going in circles since last night. I mean, pretty much two of anything good is better than one of something good. I started settling in on feet, legs, shoes, eyes, etc., but I didn't have the mojo to try drawing two of any of those. It wasn't until I was eating dinner that I realized I knew what I wanted to draw. Ding!

This was the first one I did from a live object, instead of imagination or working from looking at another image. I was surprised at how challenging this was. I went back to the dip pens and brush and figured that there wouldn't be much to the drawing. But this was hard!
