BEER Thread!

Founders is my favorite brewery, so this is great news for me: Backwoods Bastard and Breakfast Stout will be available year-round beginning in 2018!

Those are both favorites of mine as well. Is it ok to have Breakfast Stout with dinner?

Only if you have breakfast foods for dinner.

I am a firm believer in breakfast freedom

I prefer fried eagle and waffles, but pancakes work too I guess.

I'm worried enough about conversations with the SS about the things I've posted on this forum, i'm not frying any eagles.

However some Beasley's Chicken and Waffles are good anytime.

Gotcha covered there.

Happy Prohibition Repeal Day!

Rise, Beer Thread, rise!

So, this may very well be on deck for a Board Game Day on the 17th. A friend acquired six years of Three Floyd's Dark Lord for a vertical tasting. Getting thirsty just thinking about it.

Nice!

Jealous!

Whoa now, that looks amazing! I've been unfortunate enough to have never even tried a Dark Lord, of this or any year. Someday...

A small brewery local to me went ahead and finally did something I've always thought should be tried and aged scotch ale in actual scotch barrels (Islay no less). It's peaty and smoky and insane in all the ways it should be. I love a good very peaty scotch, so it's right on for me. It's certainly not for everyone, though - you really do have to enjoy Islay scotch to get anything out of this beer, otherwise you are definitely going to hate it.

Stone Brewing Company is suing MillerCoors

Good for them. They make some of the best beer around and they have a convincing argument.

This is over 3 years old, but I don't remember seeing it in this thread. It's amazing, so I wanted to share.

Awesome video! I love Mikkeller, Texas Ranger is the best chili beer I've had. The current Chipotle Porter isn't nearly as good. Also Santa's Little Helper, though the current bottle is a puny 0.33l, back in the day it was in 0.75l bottles. One of those bad boys and the holiday stress was a thing of the past!

PSA: Anyone holding on to 2013 Bourbon County Stout, feel free to crack that bottle open. Shared mine on Saturday with friends and it was pretty incredible. Personal experience is that 4-5 years is the sweet spot for aging BCS. If this came across as more of a humble brag than a true aid to the beer drinking GWJ Community, I don't apologize!
