So, I was in the mood for a good dumb shooter, and I downloaded this via Origin after adding my game key to my Origin account, and I can absolutely confirm it works.

Still connects to GFWL and you need to log in, then it downloads a patch and you need to go through this process. But then you're up and running.

Yeah, that doesn't always work. On my old PC, no matter what I tried, GFWL would absolutely refuse to connect to the server and let me play. I spent a bunch of hours trying things, and no dice. It took a new PC to finally get it to connect so I could play it.

A similar thing happened to me when the game was still relatively new. My first play session (about 2 hours or so) went fine, but every attempt to play after that failed because GFWL would not connect. Ever since then, GFWL is dead to me, as is any game that is handicapped by it.

Hey look, Bulletstorm news!

It looks like there may possibly be a Bulletstorm remaster in the works. I'd rather have a sequel, but it is good to know the IP isn't completely dead.

SaWEEEET!

I would play that again so hard.

Oh hell yes. I loved this game! I'd take a remaster.

All those games that didn't need or deserve sequels, and this one just kind of faded away. I don't want to jinx it by even hoping for a sequel!

Spoiler:

But I am.

I've played through a couple of times and just two days ago I was thinking about doing it again.

Anyone wanting to play an unpretentious, over the top, beautiful set piece having, super fun game would be doing themselves a favor to check out Bulletstorm. Keep an eye out for it on the upcoming Steam sale.

The problem with the Steam version is that no one went through and cleaned it of GFWL. So it's a serious roll of the dice as to whether or not it'll run right now. Even then the port was stupidly handled. I'm not normally one to complain about frame rates but there's something rotten with this one that would benefit greatly from using an updated version of the engine and removing the frame rate cap that was likely imposed by the GFWL shackles. Absolutely no reason this game should've run worse on my PC than Borderlands, Binfinite, or UT3.

I just played through BS in the past week (first time!). I would have liked it to be a little bit less corridor-y, but I still had a really good time, mostly because of the fun combo system which really encouraged experimentation, as well as the bright, vibrant color choices.
No issues with GFWL besides no multiplayer and having to tell the login to take a hike the first time.

I wouldn't mind a sequel.

Always glad to see someone have fun with it. I would love to see a sequel as well...

Looks like we may be getting a remastered edition...

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition appears on Brazilian rating website

I'm sad because I was hoping for a second installment, but I'll take a remastered. That's better than nothing at all.

Presumably if the remaster does well they could use that as a reason to get funding for a sequel

This was a fun game.

Same, I'll buy it day one in hopes we may get that sequel.

It's official. With... Duke Nukem?

I'm just excited to play a version of this without GFWL and hopefully smoother performance. Not really excited for the Duke Nukem insert but it probably won't actually hurt anything.

Going to be the best Duke Nukem game ever.

Didn't they finally remove GFWL? I thought they did. If not, I'm hoping that those of us saddled with that version will get an upgrade to the non-GFWL for free or cheap. I could be convinced to take another run through that.

I'll only buy this if I can replay levels with all weapons, not just ones unlocked at that point in the story.

Nope, but according to PCGamingWiki, you can get around GWFL by downloading a replacement dll file.

Same here. There's definitely an expectation of that for Steam owners since that's been the case with a handful of titles already. Hopefully Gearbox rises to the occassion.

That's happening with the new Overkill mode

And hopefully not just for people who own it on Steam. Bulletstorm is one of the few games I bought at GamersGate (surely due to a deep discount) back before I went all in on Steam.

Sounds promising. Have to see what reviews say.

And hopes are officially dashed

Well, I'll probably be passing then. I liked it, but not enough to shell out for it a second time.

Going through games to list on Amazon, found my 360 Epic Edition, if anyone's looking for a copy before I sell it.
