What are you playing this weekend?

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition - it's mostly chill and relaxing to play. Does the melee combat get any harder?

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown

Path of Exile 2 - maybe I'll stop being stuck?

I will probably roll credits on Not Dread Wolf this weekend. I may get the platinum depending on how annoying the statues are (and if I can get an item to max level).

Sleeping Dogs doesn't really get difficult. The story is very fun, just not a challenging game. I like those types of games. I just started Kingdom Come Deliverance for CRPG club and it's hard.

It is for sure fun, blackanchor. Shame about the studio behind it. Thanks!

I'm hoping to finish up Sleeping Dogs and Doom (2016)

I was closer to the end than I realized. Just rolled credits on Sleeping Dogs.

BUT, since it’s the Definitive Edition I didn’t realize there were TWO story DLCs so I get to keep going! Better yet, the first DLC involves the undead invading Hong Kong which is similar to RDR: Undead Nightmare!!!

Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader, still. 218 hours so far. Early days of Act 4.

This is already my 4th most played game ever, after TF2 (2550 h), Hell Let Loose (1040 h) and PUBG (770 h). I knew it was big, but I did not expect this. Divinity: Original Sin EE took me 200 hours...

It hits all my compulsive buttons: throwables hoarding, side mission and companions' arc missions sidetracking, compulsive recruitment and then never taking most of the characters to the away teams while sticking with the same core 5 characters and only ever swapping out the sixth one based on situation, barter items hoarding, obsessive reloading for failed skill checks or perceived "wrong" dialog choices, reloading becasue of perceived "wrong" order of doing things, hours spent on figuring out the optimal loadouts and don't even get me started on the levelling choices. I have read descriptions of all the skills dozens of times, every time the characters level up, and even though you can mark your favorites to decrease the clutter during choices, I still read the ones I did not mark as favorites every time "just in case I missed somethin or if a new one popped up", revisiting locations I cleared already "just in case"...

On the positive side, the fights seem kinda easy becasue I am probably quite a bit above the expected party level and gear quality for any challenge by the time I meander my way to it.

I lovehate it.

Homeworld.

It's been 25 years. I have to get the Hiigarans back home. Not finishing this game has sat in my subconscious for decades.

Revisiting Chrono Trigger on my Steam Deck with emulation and throw in some Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Citizen Sleeper, and a touch of State of Decay 2. Maybe, just maybe Aliens: Dark Descent, & Starcom: Unknown Space.

Those are all the games that I have been bouncing with in the last couple of months.

The music...

More Sea of Stars for sure, and maybe some Prey (2017) if I can get some limited console time.

It sounds like the game's difficulty isn't designed around the level of optimization you're going for!

I'm going to try to finish up Fuga: Melodies of Steel this weekend, and maybe play something else too. I'm not sure where I'll go next. I've been hopping around between a lot of Switch games this past week (I have been stressed and my mind has not been quiet). Possibly Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake; that's a nice, soothing game. Maybe A Little to the Left.

Cyberpunk. Accidentally started the Phantom Liberty DLC.

Oh it's no accident.

Spoiler:

Oh shit they shot down the President’s plane. You and the President are taking down a rogue spider mech.

The Roottrees Are Dead has been taking a lot of my time this weekend. If you liked Obra Dinn or Golden Idol games, you should check it out.

Also, apparently, I’m playing the Remaster of Horizon: Zero Dawn whilst trying to figure out why I adore this game and bounced off Forbidden West hard. I suspect it’s because I feel free to potter about and explore in the first game and was being too closely shepherded in the second.

I may have to give Forbidden West a third chance some time in the future.

Despite my huge backlog and what I was anticipating to play, I wound up reinstalling Civ 4 and the Beyond the Sword expansion.

Hoping to make good progress in Sea of Stars (PC)! And probably some Freedom Wars Remastered (PC) on the side.

Asgard's Wrath 2: This game is something. The first 16-17 hours of the game I was playing as Abraxis, a standard tough guy with sword/shield. Now I'm playing as a whole new character, a naiiad, Cyrene. She has completely different weapons based on sea life. Heck, one of the weapons is a fish that serves as both a shield and harp that shoots energy bolts. She also has a new skill tree and weapon upgrades, so combat required an adjustment.

Plus, the game moved from a desert area with endless sand to a river area with lots of water and lush plant life - a welcome change. I also have two new companions to call on. A monkey guy, who is ok but a little hyper, and a super positive hippopotamus lady, who is kick ass.

A surprising change to the game after getting so far into it already.

I’ll be swapping back and forth between Armored Core VI and Octopath Traveler II, depending on my mood. Both have their hooks deep in me at the moment.

Finish Sunset Riders (stuck on stage 6 boss)
Start Moss 2 (VR)
Restart System Sock remake.

This again, though I'm doubting my ability to defeat the final boss in Sunset Riders.
And I'm already into my third restart of System Shock, which I intend to see through now.

I’ve played a bit more Lost in Random and met the charming three eyed monster Seemore. I’ve also played more of the Horizon: Zero Dawn Remaster. Turns out the perfect sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn was a polished and prettier Horizon: Zero Dawn. I get so much pleasure from just existing in that world.

Still enamored with my new gaming tablet, so probably a lot more Undecember, but probably some GRID Autosport and Strike Fighters as well. Maybe some DOS games.

Yup.

Glad to see you're still playing it.

As for myself, more Asterigos: Curse of the Stars.

WH40k: Rogue Trader... 240 hours, still Act 4.

Still slumming it in Dogtown Cyberpunk 2077

100% agree.

Trying out Icarus with a friend. Should be called tech tree the game as there isnt a lot more to do than level up and unlock new things to build. Pretty enough though.

I've been addicted to The Last Flame since 1.0 released. TFT made roguelike really hits. I'll also be playing some War Thunder and Balatro

Some Tomato Adventure, some Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and perhaps something on the Switch or even ye olde Xbox 360.
