Four character stories in Octopath Traveler II are complete. Four more to go, so that's the goal for the weekend.
Anything else is a cherry on top.
Metro Awakening - After the initial issues were resolved this has turned out to be a solid game. It's got most of the hallmarks of the regular Metro games and a pretty solid story to boot. I'm really enjoying it.
I'm playing through the PCVR version right now but plan to go back and play the Quest 3 version after this on a harder difficulty. I did go back and play more of the Q3 version and am pretty impressed with it now. The entire PCVR game is there and after you get used to the lower resolution and textures it's not as much of a problem.
But after Batman you can really see what they can do on Q3. So hoping they release a Q3 enhancement pack for the game.
Balatro - A rougue-like card battler where you make poker hands. Have gotten so addicted to this game. Gotten to the final blind twice now but have yet to come close to beating that. So missing some type of strategy.
Udio - For fun started making a cheesy 80's heavy metal song. It's got all the right hallmarks of the era with, simplistic guitar chords and riffs, over the top screaming, the "band" joining in to sing the chorus, and my terrible lyrics that are sung with such enthusiasm and energy.
It's perfect so far.
Probably a lot of Warhammer 40,000 Inquisitor since the new class is so much fun and I want to get to level 50 as quickly as possible.
Farming Simulator 25
Beneath Oresa and Exo One.
Death Stranding and Metaphor ReFantazio on PS5 Pro!
So Disco Elysium started really slow and was pretty confusing to the point where I was kind of avoiding playing it, but it's finally starting to come together into something cohesive.
I like it a lot. It's something very different as an RPG from what I've played in the past. It's more a virtual detective novel than an RPG, but there's some great unique approaches in this game. The dialogue tree is excellent.
Overall I'm finally enjoying it. Right now I don't get why so many people have fallen head over heels with this title and why PC Gamer ranked it as their #1 all time game for a couple of years, but I have to admit that it's a very good game (and looks like it'll get better).
I continue to pick at Oblivion on the steam deck, but Rise of the Golden Idol has been taking most my time over the last few days.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. 23 hours in so far, and I fell prey to the grind in the service of the Emprah.
My Ogryn Dino is currently level 21. Leveling seems to top out at 30, I saw nobody with higher level than that. He mastered the Ogryn "shotgun" (called Kickback), basically a literal hand-cannon that uses paint bucket-sized shells that punch holes in the enemy hordes. His preferred melee weapon so far is a “club” looking like a broken off axle from a Leman Russ, because its push-block attack is a horizontal swipe that can blow a dozen basic foes off their feet.
This game has among the best designed and detailed maps I have ever seen. I thought Necromunda: Hired Gun has great WH40k hive-city maps, but Darktide blows those out of the water, by orders of magnitude.
And pretty much all the people playing on pub servers have so far been awesome. Haven't run into a single asshole yet.
Definitely getting my money’s worth.
I mostly will be playing Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but I may solve a few cases in Rise of the Golden Idol.
For some reason I started up Time Clickers.
After the work week I've had I feel utter burnout and putting the thing on idle and just clicking upgrade boxes periodically while listening to a Bobverse book is soothing.
Maybe some coop Sandrock and maybe some Cyberknights. I keep toying with starting over in Cyberpunk for some catharsis. There's been so many changes since I last played that jumping into my old save felt wrong.
I am trying to avoid Dread Wolf spoilers while taking my son to visit my parents.
And trying to avoid buying a PS Portal looking for a hit.
Out of everything, what seems to be the primary play right now is Pokemon TCG Pocket for the phone. Got a few solid decks made at this point, but there's rarely enough time to sneak anything else in right now.
Resident Evil: Village, which I am thoroughly enjoying.
Apparently Bio-Prototype 2 recently released, although it’s been renamed Bioweaver. Same organ-swapping combat system as the original game, though it’s been expanded with some new features. The basic structure of the game is more of a roguelike and less of a vampire survivors clone now, which I’m not certain how I feel about yet.

I finished it last night and had a great time with it. I’ll definitely look into the follow ups.
And take a moment to remember the person who created it, who killed themselves a few years back. Very sad but I'm happy the team went on to finish the second one.

Seconded. I recommend also playing this at night before bed. It sets the mood.
Mechwarrior 5: Clans. At the end of my last session, I unlocked the Nova, which has been one of my favorite Mechs since Mechwarrior 3. Even if the primary configuration is very cheesy.
There is also a possibility that I'll buy STALKER 2.
Resident Evil: Village. I'm close to the end, and let me tell you, guys --don't sleep on this one! It's really good!
Metro Awakening: Replaying it on hard difficulty on the Quest 3 this time. It basically just makes the enemies tougher. So for human enemies can't one-shot kill them with the bow weapon, and grenades just piss people off. So that has forced me to actually do stealth in the sections they want you to do stealth in. So kinda neat.
Silent Hill 2: Picked it up from GMG with the 40% off. Wasn't planning on even getting this. I recall liking Silent Hill 2 but not loving it. Not too far into it and it looks nice.
Monster Train: After getting addicted to Balatro I wanted to try a more traditional card battler. I don't know if I'm loving it but I am likening it enough to keep playing.
Just guarding that veil from dragons for an age.
The Minecraft excursion carries on now that I've got the chip working for my Switch again, so now I'm mining all over the place. Can't predict how long this is gonna have its hooks in me, current plan is building a scenic Glass Skyway w/ powered rails, but hopefully I'll bounce off of this soon enough.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. 46 hours in. I have maxed out at level 30, but it is possible to get a bit better stats via Consecrating the weapons and trinkets.
I still want to play it, and I'm still trying to figure out what my favorite loadout is.
For ranged, I am on the fence between:
1. Kickback, a ship canon-sized shotgun with super-high damage, single-shot, single cartridge, slow reload, weak melee, 40-50 ammo.
2. Grenadier Gauntlet, a cross between brass knuckles (more of a full forearm gauntlet) and grenade launcher - high damage, medium area and stagger, 4 grenade drum, slow reload, excellent melee and 30-40 ammo. But the best part is the special attack which is a punch which activates an instant grenade blast on top if it connects. Brutal.
Both suit me fine and I'm a few levels from maxing out the Gauntlet mastery, but I think that I'll probably stick with the shotty - it might be the highest single-shot damage weapon in the game and it has crazy range too. I often take out snipers with it, as the enemies typically spawn fairly close because maps are fairly cramped.
For close combat:
1. Power Maul, a fire-hydrant-on-a-parking-pole-sized club that can be powered up at will like a cattle prod to shock the next target upon contact. The downside is it takes about two seconds to charge. Hella long time in the mosh pit…
2. Maul and Shield. Really hard to beat for defense and crowd control. It can protect almost fully against almost anything (Snipers, Ragers and Hounds, cry me a river) except mutant tackle and a couple of the most powerful monstrosities.
This is a tougher choice and I try to be strategic. If I figure out there will be lots of Ragers/Snipers/hordes, I flip to Shield. if there are lots of armoured enemies expected, Power Maul it is.
I think I am close to finishing Narita Boy, so I'll play that too.

If you haven’t tried it please give Slay The Spire a go, for me it’s the epitome of the genre and one of the greatest games ever made.
Spend about 3 more hours in Octopath Traveler II getting the final all-travelers ending.
The rest should be getting heavily into the next monster game (though not quite as monstrous): Cyberpunk 2077.
Also, I'm thinking about going through Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus?
Let's see what actually happens. For the past two weeks I keep thinking I want something totally different from Octopath, but then I just go back to it anyway. Last night, instead of getting into Cyberpunk for real, as I planned, I instead just leveled up my B-Team in Octopath for nearly 2 hours.

Yup played the hell out of it and have 2 wishlisted to nab it when it's released.
Yeah Monster Train is no Slay the Spire but still enjoying it.
Luma Island with the spouse. So far it is a wonderful game. Tiered progression tied to biomes. Plentiful resources and things to discover. Little helpers to cuddle. A bit formulaic if the current pattern holds, but it's keeping things interesting with quirky NPCs and environment puzzles.
Mostly Black Mesa.
