I really wasn’t sure if Cult of the Lamb would click. I adored the look of it but I can say that for many games I bounced off. Fortunately the game was offered as part of PS Plus and, equally fortunately, it did click. I enjoy the combat and the base maintenance, which is an aspect that is usually of no interest to me.
The best sign that I’m fully onboard is that I’m not ponder which game I should play next, I’m just looking forward to my next session and deciding which camp upgrades I should invest in.
I got my kickstarter key, so:
Putting Octopath Traveler II on timeout since the secret boss is proving much harder than the one from the first game; have to regroup and come up with different strategies so I won't be touching it for a few days.
In the meantime, I have a few things to try out and my SMTIV playthrough to work on. Likely some sessions of Monster Hunter Rise with my daughter, as well.
Definitely more Taxinaut. It has its claws well and truly buried in me. I feel like my home in that game is my second home, I just love it so.
Star Wars: Outlaws - Haven't had a chance to play in a few days so looking forward to getting back into it. And of course, playing some more Sabacc.
Udio: Took a week off from trying to create anything since the last song I spent a crazy amount of time on. But been playing around with lyrics for a country song, which is another genre I haven't tried making yet. Have the chorus and some stray lyrics so have to put it all together. May go back to using Chat-GTP to help get this started.
Also want to try making a Christmas song - but as of right now only have "concepts of a song".
Definetly some more Astro Bot as it continues to head towards my goty list and maybe some Kunitsu Gami although I have bounced off the final boss a few times so I’m not sure I have it in me.
The true Star Wars is between Outlaws and AstroBot this weekend. And they are competing for my time.
The war continues. The cute robots are winning.
Continuing on in Octopath Traveler 2, since I'm close to the end of the stories for the second half of the crew. The end of the game is in sight-ish. Also, Splatoon 3 is having a big 3 way fight weekend, so I've reinstalled that to mess around with it.
Finished Space Marine 2 earlier in the week but I’m on to a Veteran replay and hope to do some good Operations grind.
I’ve also returned to Huntdown after bouncing off several months ago. Loving it now.
Finally, Boltgun.
With Monster Hunter: World freshly beaten & under my belt, my console gaming slot is left wide open, but with fall right around the corner and spooky season looming, I've decided to return to another action game I've never been able to clear: Bloodborne. Never been able to beat either Father Gascoigne or the Cleric Beast, but my meta and I are planning on a tag-team effort to persevere through the hunt.
On the Switch front, I'm juuuuust about caught up with the calendar in Persona 5 Royal (currently on Sept. 14th), but I'm in the thick of some plot/cutscene-heavy days, so I may sit through a few more of those before finally (FINALLY) digging into CrossCode. I may end up being a bit too late for the Action Game Club, but my bones crave stories in MMO-esque settings.
Bloodborne
This was my very first From/souls game that I jumped into randomly last year and man, it was a brutal experience. I had no idea what I was getting into with the genre and never raged more with a game than this one (until Sekiro). I spend hours just trying to get through the first area and Father G took me a couple of days to beat. That repeated grind for health vials and bullets was maddening do the point I was ready to uninstall. Once I beat him, I was hooked though and went on to drop 100 hours on the base game and DLC and now I'm a souls junkie.
I just beat Dark Souls 1 for the first time two years ago after on-and-off attempts over the decade since it's release, so I know I can do it! Fortunately I'm now accompanied by a capable guide this time around, so I have some confidence in this run.
My LOTRO adventure continues, as I have now made it into Angmar to continue the fight. I am slightly underlevelled, so consider breaking out the thermals and heading off to the icy wastes of Forochel, where frost based murder and mayhem awaits. And some crafting, probably.
Other than that, I've been watching a LP series on Age of Wonders : Planetfall, so going to reinstall that and give it a go.
I'm still trekking through Star Wars: Outlaws and am about 30 hours in. I'm having a great time with it despite a couple of annoyances and it's one of my favorite titles of the year.
One of my followers in Cult of the Lamb, a white rabbit called Feggerty, passed away last night. She died peacefully of old age. She was one of the best and hardly ever pooped in the bushes near camp. Out of respect, I resisted the urge to bring her back from the dead.
Also, Shymlark and I are into Seven Days to Die. Another entry in the low budget, pretty janky, base building, survival co-op genre that seems to entirely suit our play style.
You can dig holes and tunnels! Like Minecraft!
Playing AMID EVIL and DRG: Survivor.
Started SPESS MAHREEN 2 on Tuesday, I think. Made it to the fallen ship in the intro mission, left it there and I did not feel the urge to play since. Something definitely did not sit well with me, and I think the underlying cause is that I just did not put enough time to set up the controls exactly right. The combat system is... different. I need to figure out if it is more effective to put mellee or parry on my right mouse button, I think that's the lynchpin that I need to set correctly for my playstyle. There are three crucial actions, range attack, melee and parry and I need the third proper mouse button, it seems.
As is, fighting is way too hectic and random for my liking at this point. I want to know what will happen when I do a thing, and I want to know exactly what is the correct thing to do when, and in which situation. Need more time...
It took me forever to bite into the first one too, but once I broached the fortress I did not stop until I crashed back out through the rear wall.
Because of the Space Marine 2/W40K influence: I decided to reinstall Battlesector and Deathwing and logged a bit of time into both.
So I spent the past weekend finishing No Man's Sky and starting Heaven's Vault. I only discovered Heaven's Vault after Googling 'underrated PS4 games', which is something that I find myself doing on a regular basis lately.
Invariably, something interesting pops up. In the last few weeks, these searches have yielded 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim, and The Outer Worlds.
It's gonna be a Warhammer 40k online gaming weekend:
Space Marine 2
Darktide
Going for healthy walks in the countryside and eating vegetarian whilst visiting my cousin Richard near the Lake District. Boooo I say! Who’s going to keep my cult members fed and thoroughly indoctrinated in Cult of the Lamb whist I’m away!
Been keeping to my word this week! CrossCode has fully got its hooks into me, and I've beaten Father Gascoigne for the first time in Bloodborne, so progress is going better than it ever has for me!
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster
Back in 2006 it was the original Dead Rising which convinced me to buy my very own first console...Xbox 360.
I've beaten Father Gascoigne for the first time in Bloodborne, so progress is going better than it ever has for me!
Congrats! Which weapon did the trick?
God of War: Ragnarök - It's more of the same from the last game, which is just fine. I like in the sequel they didn't make Atreus the angsty teen. He's actually very likable as he's respectful of his controlling father and still wants his approval. But at the same time, he's been sneaking out on his own searching for answers his father won't give him. Really well thought out dynamic for the two of them.
Game runs fantastic on PC as far as performance go. So great job there.
Had two technical issues with workarounds.
1. DLSS Frame Generation does not work. So just using FSR-FG until fixed
2. In cut sequences the audio, particularly the voices would get whisper quiet. I almost stopped playing until I found out turning on the Voice Boost resolved it.
Edit: Looks like both these issues were resolved in today's patch.
Star Wars: Outlaws - Probably putting this one to the side while GoW has taken over my free time. But may lboot it up to play a few games of Sabacc.

It was a weapon that I've missed in every attempt at this game that my meta made a beeline for: The Saw Spear! Its combo of speed & range has been a just-right fit for us between the Threaded Cane's speed and the Saw Cleaver's power.
I managed to get him down to half-health before trying to use the Music Box, which ended up being just the right timing to knock out the bulk of his health before his 2nd Phase, and the rest is history from there~

I’m glad you’re into it. It goes places! There is a thread for the game.
I've been on a space kick lately and have dabbled for a few hours in No Man's Sky, Star Wars Outlaws, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, etc. None of them really pulled me in so I fired up Starfield for the first time since launch when I bailed after about 25 hours. I'm really enjoying it and hopefully it keeps me locked in once I really get going. My only major gripe with it (still) is there are too many loading screens, which break the immersion. Too bad there's no mod to clean this up.
Continuing my LoreMaster's wanderings through Forochel in LOTRO, which are almost complete and a nice change of pace (and scenery) before returning to the burning hells and ambient electronic howls of Angmar, where I am still convinced that I'll unmask the Witch King as being Aphex Twin.
Other than that, probably hauling sundry goods around Spain and Portugal in ETS 2, as I try to tick off the achievement for visiting all towns/cities there, think I'm at 42 of 51.
Main thing is still Octopath Traveler 2. I have two of the eight stories left plus any key postgame stuff, so I'm trying to make a good push.
I finished Dark Souls 3 last night and wasn't feeling like tackling the DLC right away so I browsed my library and ended up firing up Sid Meier's Pirates! (2004) for the first time in at least a decade and damn that's still a great game. Why have we had 7 entries in the Civ series (4-7, BE, Revolution 1 & 2) since then but not a Pirates! update? They don't even need to change the gameplay -- just a coat of paint (but not a change in art style) and the ability to run at modern resolutions is all I'm asking for.
