I started the weekend playing The Cruel King and the Great Hero. I'm about halfway through the game, but it's become so repetitive that I felt I needed a bit of a break, so I started Klaus, one of Spikeout's Games of the Year, and my goodness -- I'm having a great time with it!
I can't believe all these years later that someone from this forum has started playing Klaus. Love it!
I don't dish these recommendations out lightly
Keep on enjoying yourself Mario_Alba
Thanks, Spikeout.
I'll do you one better: you know what other game I bought when I got Klaus? Teslagrad 2.
Stop it! Your after my gaming heart
Teslagrad 2 is something special, truly quality over quantity if there ever was.
I'm finishing off Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree then I'll be free for Astro Bot when it releases at the start of September, cannot wait.
I also bought Slay The Spire on mobile after putting 700 hours into the Switch version then another 200 hours on PS5 once it arrived on PS Plus. That game has hooks in my soul.
Tactical Beach Wizards and Rack & Slay
Also some Steamworld Heist 2 and Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga, which so far is a great take on Fire Emblem with more complexity.
I should probably stop buying new games now....

I'll let you know how awesome I think it is when I get to it. Probably after Klaus.
I'm still playing Insurgency: Sandstorm. I have about 50 hours in over 2 weeks and its quickly become my favorite shooter of all time, which is crazy because I've played hundreds of them over the last couple decades. It's pure fun, constantly tense, sokid comms system and it's very easy to jump into games. Also doesn't have any grinding, everything is unlocked from the beginning.

I played about a dozen hours and it's brutally difficult early on. I wish it was bit more intuitive.
Yeah, I'd sunk maybe 6 hours into the thing and was stuck with how to progress. I somehow overlooked a very dark door in one of the houses. That kind of unlocked my next steps. Which is always my problem with these kinds of games. If you get on the right wavelength (and have a bit of luck) with these things, then you feel incredibly accomplished--which is great. But the opposite is true as well, where if you are somehow missing something simple (or God forbid there is a bug which prevents you from progressing), you are just slamming your head up against a wall and feeling like a real idiot.
Well, I don't know about you people, but I shall playing LOTRO, where this weekend I shall mainly be assisting the Rangers of Evendim by killing bandits, salamanders and people who like to dress up as wolves. They pay out bonuses for certain numbers of kills, which is fine by me - ask no questions and you'll be told no lies, squire (taps nose).
WoW: The War Within: They focus on storytelling a lot here but WoW is still WoW...your impression, positive and/or negative, remains accurate.
Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator: I really like this game but don't love it. I'm very happy with my experience here but I think I'm hitting a point where I'm comfortable abandoning the game with a smile. It's a combination of my old Organic Chemistry lab class, using Waze to drive a truck, online cooking classes, and Microsoft Flight simulator. My review will explain this better.
DREDGE: If Steven King played Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader and could code, this is what he would make.
...and of course, the occasional drop in HELLDIVERS 2. Because Managed Democracy.

I had a lifetime membership and sever characters in LOTRO. I really enjoyed that game and liked to return to it once a year for a few days. But since they've changed publishers again, they no longer honor my membership and can't find my account, so I've had to sail into the West with that one.

I must be missing something important like that because I was struggling alot. Which door/house is that?
The first DLC mission pack came out for Earth Defense Force 6 this week, so I will be playing through that.
I’m playing some Tactical Breach Wizards and inching ever closer to the end of Octopath Traveler II. 5 of 8 stories complete, now.
Also, Spikeout, I meant to say I found Klaus really interesting after you gave it to me as a recommendation, and I downloaded the demo for my PS5. But the PS5 won’t play the demo — and the demo is labeled as PS4, so that surprises me. I would have thought it was compatible. So that made me nervous about whether I could buy & play the whole game, which is also labeled PS4. Mario, what platform are you using to play it?
Star Wars: Outlaws: Was only able to put in 4hrs with the early start. So, looking forward to putting in a lot more time over the 3-day weekend.
Won a game of Sabacc after watching a video that simplified it. First time I tried the game I was like, this looks neat, but didn't follow the rules. Imposter cards? Tokens where I get 2 chips back? What the heck is with the dice rolling?
Turns out its a pretty simple pair matching game.
So this may be one of the few times I regularly play an in-game mini-game.
Udio: For once going to try and finish a song without using Chat-GTP for lyric assistance. So far it's turned out great. The AI has come up with such a catchy chorus for my lyrics. Song has a little bit of Regina Spektor vibe to it but turned out a bit more melancholy than expected. Really looking forward to finishing it as I have a solid 2:20 so far.
With palaces & dungeon delves out of the way for now, I currently find myself around Aug. 10th in Persona 5 Royal, so I continue to work my way back to catching up with the calendar.
On console, I've slayed the Pink Rathian in Monster Hunter: World along with crafting the Diablos hammers with extra attack and a defense boost in exchange for affinity. I think next on the agenda is Nergigante, so I'm getting close to the credits roll.
Lastly, I've gotten back into Marvel Snap over the last month and been enjoying my time with it. Turns out my Death/Deadpool deck still works pretty well after the last year-ish away from the game.
I hear there are Star Wars, but I am just gonna be playing these Outlaws gangs against each other.
Hoping to finish Ghostwire: Tokyo this long weekend. 32 hours in, currently.
More Klaus for me.

The game is somewhat randomized so some locations are kind of difficult to describe as yours may be different from mine: but if you are in the first area (Dry Meadow) and struggling to get to the Silent Woods, there is a janky house that has a locked door which is blocking your progress. I'd go do a double-check of that house and really make sure you've explored every room in it. There should be a room which will give you key that then allows you to open the locked door. You will know if you are in the correct room if there is a human enemy also attacking you--so make sure you are prepared for that also.

I looked it up & apparently it's playable on PS5, on Klaus actual ps store page it basically says 'to play this game on PS5 your system may need to be updated to the latest system software. Although this game is playable on PS5, some features on PS4 may be absent'
I went to playstation.com/bc & there's only a list of 6 PS4 only games that aren't playable on PS5 & Klaus isn't one of them.
I'm near sure Mario_Alba is playing on PS5 but I'll download the game later, check it out for myself & let you know if it works.
I'm playing Klaus on PS4. Sadly, I do not have a PS5.
I'm halfway through it, and I am having a blast. It is such a clever little game!
Yep Klaus runs fine on PS5 LastSurprise I'm just after playing a couple of levels.
I forgot how unique this game is, all the little secret levels that change up gravity, one where you can only go left. Then there are the little platforms you can move to assist you on your way across levels or get keys that you can't get to otherwise.
Very clever indeed Mario! There are some scenarios in the late part of the game that just blew my mind with the creativity in level design.
Long weekend is coming to an end and I've been playing a grab bag of stuff:
- Diablo IV, Season 5
- Kiborg Arena demo
- Fignt N'Rage
- Warframe
- W40K: Space Marine
Resident Evil 2. It’s scary.
Simple: Space Marine 2
Simple: Space Marine 2
I can see me getting that sometime in the near future.

Drop your info in the Warhammer thread so we can all link up for co-op and multiplayer soon.
AGAIN, Hoping to finish Ghostwire: Tokyo this long weekend. 42 hours in, currently...
As I expected/feared, it has turned into a compulsive slog... Open-world map games have a tendency to do that to me.
I am probably 65-75% in - already maxed out my level and got all the skills I care about. What took probably two thirds or more of the time was collecting the souls and completing all the green side-missions (the school mission, GOOD GRIEF...). I managed to pry myself from doing all the yellow collectibles missions assigned by levitating cats, as I don't need the money. Also not going to seek out all the shapeshifting racoons and deliberately hunt down whatever the various creatures who give the green stones are, I have enough of those too.
Clothing are... useless? It's an FPS, who cares? They are only relevant for photo mode. Did not even try it, I don't see the point.
The story is way overstretched, as it's pretty much all "go there-kill/fetch/activate that" with way too thin of a veneer.
Saving grace is that I really like the graphics and atmosphere, and combat is just the right frequency, difficulty and pace to keep me neither bored nor annoyed.
Ugh. I'll get through it, but it feels like a chore at this point.
Simple: Space Marine 2
I got Standard at 20% off on Humble, so not this weekend...
