What are you playing this weekend?

I played and finished Forgotten Sands. I mostly enjoyed it, and thought the combat was pretty cool, my only gripe was that some of the jump puzzles, esp near the end of the game were just ridiculous. That meant a whole lot of do-overs, which was pretty frustrating. All in all, a good game though.

My main issue with it was that sometimes the camera would shift right before you made a jump and thus throw your jump angle off. I actually liked some of the big jumping sequences other than the one with all the damn waterfalls near the end and was able to do most of them without any problems.

I agree. For the most part, the jump puzzles were pretty cool, but yes, it was those waterfall ones near the end that nearly had me throwing my controller. They weren't fun, IMO, they were just mean.

Just finished the Coop in Portal 2 with my wife.
So, so, so good. I really should finish the SP, but will likely opt for L4D2

Civ V has me solidly in its clutches again. I might finish From Dust if I can get Civ V to let go for a few hours.

Oh, I forgot, maybe some more education in LoL.

Well, it's a amazing what you'll find tucked away on the sad lil' PC games discount shelf at London Drugs. Found this old gem earlier tonight:

May have to give it a spin this weekend!

Deus Ex, have to finish my playthrough before Human Revolution comes out.

For some reason, I fired it up again. I took quite a few screenshots so far, but failed to get them uploaded, and failed to even begin the write-up I thought I might come through on for my return to Dereth.

Wow - I haven't thought about AC in a very long time. I'm a bit surprised it's still running and that it's being charged for. I was invited into the beta for it and played it ravenously, but always thought "yet I refuse to pay monthly for a game I buy for $50." After the beta (and what a cool way to end the beta! - by literally having the apocalypse happen), I paid monthly for about 1.5 years.

OK, I'll play...

Turns out I'm playing a lot more Assassin's Creed (the original) than anything else at this point. I have to ask...does it ever change up? The whole formula is fun for the first city or two, but if I have to climb the same towers, save the same citizens, and pick the same pockets for 8 other cities, that sounds pretty boring. Especially right after finishing the latest Prince of Persia, which moved fast enough to never get stale.

That's the complaint, Minarchist. Repetition. I'm pretty sure most people didn't finish it. It's why everyone loves the sequels so much.

A whole TON of DCS A-10. Have mastered Mavericks, now to move onto Precision Guided Munitions.

Man I SO want to get this! But I'm a bit worried about being able to give it the right amount of time. I was a huge flight simmer back in the day with Longbow 1/2, F-15 Strike Eagle 3, Falcon 3/4, etc. Haven't done much with the genre in 8 years or so. Something tells me learning this one would be no small undertaking...

Not until towards the very end unfortunately.

I did end up starting a new game of Bioshock 2. It's just so good.

I think I actually enjoyed the hard run (second time) more. Did you try "The Protector Trials"? Some good practice that introduces some fun strategies.

So far, a little bit of Arkham Asylum (the Morgue sequence was great -- and now you know how little of the game I've played), a little bit of King's Bounty: The Legend, and a little bit of STALKER: Call of Pripyat with the Complete mod (the Zone keeps pulling me back in).

Looks like Freelancer. My disk got scratched :(.

I've been playing a lot of X3TC poisoned paranid (25 mil in 72 hours = fat reward ) I'm at about 20 hours with 12 million credits , a kestrel(fastest scout),Zaphyrus(mini carrier),Nova Raider(heavy fighter) and numerous other ships. I did get a free Iguana V. ("troop transport") for missions but I could have just another TP (well I thought I'll go pure but this isn't that much of a cheat - not selling it). Victory is just a matter of time.

Other than that I played Terraria a lot. I also watched the Dota 2 tournament .

I have the Protector Trials but haven't played them. And so far, playing Bioshock 2 back-to-back with the first one has been interesting not only to see the changes and improvements but to see all the little nods they put in to Bioshock.

Just finished ME 1 for like the 6th or 7th time. Now importing to ME 2.

I beat Bastion. Beyond that I played a little more NCAA Football 11 career with the Iowa Hawkeyes.

I would kill to have a PC football title again. Damnit!

Pour moi, c'est:

* Defense Grid - working on finally finishing up the last few missions after a long time lying dormant

* Dirt 3 - thanks, Luggage!

* Magicka - my new obsession. QRQRQRQRAm2 FTW!

* Singularity - Toy Soldiers 2

When I posted this, I forgot I had just purchased Toy Soldiers 2. So I ended up playing that, a ton of Magicka, Defense Grid, and a good bit of Dirt 3 (which is excellent). Also grabbed Jamestown today in the Steam daily deal, and played some of that as well.

I'm one map away from knocking Defense Grid off the pile.

Yes indeedy. I've always wanted to play Freelancer. I still remember playing the demo and kind of looking down on it for being so arcade-y on the space sim side of things. Now I'm an hour or so in to the full game and yeah, the space combat is really basic but I already know this is going to suck up more time than it has any right to. Love being able to take on missions, earn money buy random spare parts for my dinky ship, etc..

Out of my wish list I did actually get in a bit of time with Dragon Quest IX. Aside from that I've restarted Faxanadu (NES) yet AGAIN. This is probably the 4th time I'm going to try to get through the game. The previous three serious attempts all made it at least 66% of the way through before quitting.

Also, my back got a whole lot closer to skin cancer thanks to my lovely girlfriend's insistence on going into a big body of water for numerous hours while that bright glowy thing was above us.

It's on sale now! Truly though, I don't have a ton of time either, and haven't played much since Falcon 4. The tutorials are quite good, and if you have a decent knowledge of radar systems, etc. it isn't too bad. Some reading offline in your spare time, and watching the plethora of youtube videos and you can be flying in no time. I'd say I have no more than 10 hours in the sim and have recently completed a mission.

We have a semi-regular group who is playing, and we are all at around the same level.

Think about it, we'd love some more people!

Can people post the names of the games they're playing as well as the screenshot? I don't know half of these from sight!

Actually, figuring that out is half the fun but mine were:

Deus Ex
Fallout: New Vegas
Precursors

I had no idea what Precursors was! I still don't! Allow me to google.

Also, if you don't know, you don't know, surely?
