Haven't really played anything since StarCraft 1. Will definitely check out some of the WW2 ones.
I used to play a lot of strategy games (Civ, Crusader Kings) so maybe I'll try out CK3?
If you're gonna go that route, look at Old World. It's turn-based, but it's sublime.
Also can't go wrong with the spectacle that is Total War: Warhammer 3.
Finished my replay of the Quake II campaign last night via the Remaster. It's still very good - I just wish I could learn to like the multiplayer as well.
Will probably dip more into the new episode - Call of the Machine.
Besides that, I might try to get into Sam& Max: Hit the Road, and if I have the energy during kids-are-in-bed quiet time at night, I'll try to immerse myself in Telltale's The Expanse episodes 2-5, now that they are all out.
Also picked Xenosaga epsiode III back up after not playing it since January-ish, so maybe more of that.

The GWJ Strategy Gaming Group might be a good place for you to start at.
Age of Empires IV is recent and very good, but so is Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition (which is still getting updates and expansions).
You probably can't go wrong with any of the last five Total War games - Warhammer II/III and Three Kingdoms being real standouts - but Budo is probably your best guide in regards to the TW series.
I finished Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak earlier this year and really enjoyed it.
Planning on getting deeper into They Are Billions in the forseeable future.
Some World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King to get level 42 on my first real classic character. Maybe some more Lies of P, and hopefully a movie or two.
As I work back to rebuilding my business and starting new work ventures, I am allowing myself time.
Gave FE three houses a try and has been AMAZING SO FAR
I may have to reevaluate my commitment to KOTOR, b/c that 9-minute gameplay teaser of DDog 2 from TGS has thrust me back into Gransys headfirst.
I've begun my Mage-focused New Game + run of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.
This video has encouraged me to play on with Ghostwire Tokyo. I feel like the critical consensus was down on the game so it’s great to hear from someone who thoroughly enjoyed it.
I also enjoyed Ghostwire Tokyo. I hope more people give it a shot.
This weekend I did do get much gaming due to travel, but I started up Void Stranger, a puzzle game that promises to get weird.
Chipping away at Starfield, and also starting up 13 Sentinels with the JRPG club.
Returnal.
Was right about the second boss experience probably being much easier than the first. I was able to take him out on the fourth try. But even then it was close since I was crazy buffed with some really helpful 1-use items.
I've tried the third boss twice now. That last stage is bonkers. There are multiple floating platforms you need to jump to without falling to your death, while avoiding fire, and shooting a very specific area of the boss. I still feel its within my grasp to do but know it's going to take quite a few tries.
But am enjoying going back to the earlier biomes and using my grappling hook to get to all those spots I never could before. And that ability allowed me to check out the Sisyphus tower, which is kinda separate but also details some story elements for the main character. So will probably be giving that a real go at some point too.
28.5hrs in and really loving this game at this point.
Update: Ok I took down the third boss unexpectedly on the third try. Again buffed up like crazy. And after that. Wow...madness. This game is madness.
It's almost unfortunate they've locked it behind some seriously tough battles.
After watching some boring tutorials, I am rerolling in BG3. I think I may be hooked now.
Hopefully some Starfield, in the midst of unpacking.
Metal Gear Solid: Phantom Pain, continuing to plug away at this one. I'm still loving it, but ready for it to start wrapping up. I went from completing each and every Side Ops mission to just focusing entirely on the main missions.
Monster Hunter Rise session tomorrow, and then possibly more Mega Man Legends 2 and some 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim for the JRPG game club.
I don’t seem to be playing much at the moment. Hopefully some Disco Elysium and/or Sea of Stars.
I'm very close to done with Bloodborne and the DLC. I logged close to 100 (glorious) hours, which is probably an all time record for me. I'm either jumping to Sekiro or Lords of the Fallen (10/13 release) next.
I'll be trying to complete Gris and Gravity Falls. Will likely also partake in some Zelda: TotK and the Pokemon S/V DLC.
Man, I loved Gris. It didn't outstay its welcome and was gorgeous from beginning to end.

And that music!
Gris is fantastic. Not many games like that out there.
I have no idea, but probably something!
Last weekend I gave Armored Core 6 a try, but it's just not for me right now. I've been in more of a "laid-back gaming with a beer" place since starting a new job a couple of weeks ago and spending a lot of mental energy on that.
So, maybe I'll come back to Forza Horizon 5 again?
Or I might start a new game of Horizon Zero Dawn to just hunt machines for a while. It's been about a year and a half since I played HZD, and the recent announcement about the PC port of Forbidden West got me thinking about it again. Plus, I've gotten a significant system upgrade since that first play through, so should be able to turn the graphics settings way up from what I used before.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
I also picked up OTXO from Steam Shmup Fest and may give that a whirl.
Going back to indie stuff. Downfall mod for Slay the Spire.
Might try and finish Cocoon. It's so good. Also my perennial Genshin Impact and likely some solo board games as my partner is away at Rennaissance Faire and my kids are at Legoland with their mother. Maybe some Book of Hours as well. Getting close to an ending on that one.
My cousin Richard is visiting. He only plays video games once a year; an event that coincides exactly with his visits to me. Odd that. I shall report on what we play or what I give him to play whilst I do other stuff. He played all of Monument Valley and a hell of a lot of What the Golf.
For me, more Cyberpunk 2077, with more playtesting of Star Fleet II. Will likely sprinkle in some Warhammer 40,000 Inquisitor Martyr.
Baldurs Gate 3 if I get some me time and some coop Wizard of Legend with my eldest.
My weekend is looking like a lot of Zelda: TotK, some Luigi's Mansion, and a bit of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.
Want to finish Quake II: Call of the Machine,
make progress in Final Fantasy IX,
and take a swing at rolling credits in Dark Arms: Beast Buster.
Now where are my Totino's pizza rolls, 6-pack of Zima, and Bloodhound Gang cd?
